Roaringsun went down the mountain with the search party right behind him, rain pouring down on all of them. He had caught a faint scent trail of Elmstar, hopefully, they would be able to find him alive... Yet, he had a bit of fear in his gut. 'What if we never find him? What if he's... dead?' He pushed those thoughts aside momentarily, the scent getting stronger. His tracking led him to the main river, the smell being cut off into the water. "Oh great Starclan..." He mumbled, following the flow of the river down to where Elmstar's limp body laid motionless... Roaringsun took a small step back, not believing it. "One of you go back to the camp, tell Boneblossom what happened..." He ordered, holding back a wail of disappointment. He admired Elmstar greatly, he was a wise leader.

Blizzardglow hid silently in the nursery den, feeling nervous. She didn't know what happened to Elmstar, but it couldn't be good. There could be a fox or predator out killing cats, but she was determined not to be one of them. She laid stiffly on her side, letting her belly stretch out. The queen let out a quiet sigh, hoping to let out some tension.

Wolfpaw walked silent pacing around the clearing. He wanted to join the search party with Roaringsun, he couldn't just stand around and wait at the camp. However, his older brother had ordered him to sit and wait, in case of danger. 'He told me to watch Cheetahpaw and Blizzardglow... He trusts me to do that.' He felt proud, assuming that his older brother trusted him over Lionpaw, Bearpaw, and Cougarpaw to take care of their sisters. He kept his pride down, continuing to pace circles around the quiet Mountainclan camp.

Deerleg store at their fallen leader. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I'll go." She piped up quickly, before racing back to camp. Her body was trembling from everything. "Boneblossom!" She called to her. "Come with me."

Cuddleheart was sorting through her herb storage. Making sure to check they had all the herbs they needed. She sat down. Worrying what might of happened to Elmstar.

Darkpaw paced back and fourth in the camp. Bored since he wasn't allowed to go with the patrol. But most of all, he was worried about his leader. He sat down and looked around the clearing.

Larksky gritted her teeth, of course she had to be asked on the patrol to find Elmstar. Oh well, keeping her paws timid she kept her eyes fixated on the ground. She only glanced up when she heard Roaringsun gasp. She glanced up, following his eyes to the dead body of Elmstar. Dead, just like he deserves. “Starclan... no!” she cried.

Fallenpaw’s fur bristled uneasily, what if Elmstar was dead? She slowly padded over to Wolfpaw. “Hey Wolfpaw!” She meowed.

Seedfoot crouched outside of the warrior’s den, eager for the patrol to come back with Elmstar. He shot to his paws when Deerleg returned. “Deerleg what is it?”

Crowpelt stifled a yawn and glanced around to see if there was any work to be done around camp. He pricked his ears, wishing he was able to come on patrol with them. Suddenly, Deerleg burst into camp, and his pelt bristled. What could it be?

Boneblossom was busy cleaning the warrior den when she heard her name called from the center of camp. She rushed over when she recognized the panic in Deerleg's voice. She ran up to Deerleg and asked what was the matter. When asked to follow, Boneblossom nodded in agreement and darted after Deerleg into the forest.

Honeystorm was out by the small stream getting a drink of water. His pink tongue slid out from his pale red jaws and lapped up the cool refreshing aqua that trickled down a slim trail in the ground. Small droplets of water beaded down his beard and his tongue once more came out to lap up the water left over. Honeystorm sat up and looked around with his pale green eyes, his ears flicking to every little sound in the forest.

He was a quiet stoic tom cat and he was always rationally thinking.

Deerleg shot into the forest and soon enough they had arrived back to the patrol. She carefully led Boneblossom over to their leader's body. Her ears went against her skull. She dipped her head to Boneblossom and backed away. Giving the deputy some time. She sat down. Trying to hold her head high. She took in a deep breath and turned to the patrol.

Boneblossom followed Deerleg until they came to the body of Elmstar, the daughter stood there silently in shock. She looked down at the murdered body and padded up to him. Her paws soft on the bloodied dirt. Boneblossom put her ear close to his muzzle to make sure he had actually died and was no longer with them. Boneblossom breathed in a deep breath and then let it out. "May starclan light your path. Elmstar, may you find good hunting, swift running and shelter when you sleep."
The deputy looked around to her clan members. She could scent another cat upon his pelt. "It appears Elmstar was murdered. Meet back at camp, I'm calling a clan meeting." She yowled loud enough for everyone near to hear. She was taking charge as if she was born to be a leader.

Nettlepaw padded back into the medicine den with a bundle of herbs in his jaw, noticing Cuddleheart was awake his ears flattened. Nettlepaw has hopes to get back before she even noticed he was gone. Setting down the bundle gently Nettlepaw shifted his nervous feet, “Oh. You’re awake.” He said quietly, his ears hot with embarrassment Nettlepaw sighed and looked away, “I thought maybe to go gather what’s I could before the weather turns. I-I did well by myself but...” Nettlepaw trailed off and finally met Cuddleheart’s eyes, his voice shaken as he grew increasingly nervous. “I-I really should have asked you first.” He said, lowering his head.

Horus stalked the mouse that had been taunting her all morning. This time it had no idea she was there. Horus’s blue eyes were fixed on the small yet plump rodent as it nibbles on some grass stalks, unaware of the impending doom. Horus slowly moved her paws, making almost no sound, then suddenly she pounced and grasped it in her claws. The mouse gave a shriek that almost made Horus cringe, but she quickly nipped it’s neck and picked it up in her jaws, carrying it to the base of a tree stump. Horus felt the wind dance through her whiskers and the scent of clan cats hit her nose, she must be on their so called territory. Horus paid no attention and began to slowly eat her meal, enjoying each bite as she hadn’t eaten in almost a day.
