Azura Tian | genderless (they/them or he/him) | 35 | dragon breath
adviser | location: base camp | tags: Nick and Maverick
Azura wasn't in the best of mood and wasn't sure they were quite ready for what was about to come. The weather outside sounded lovely and quite to their taste - that, they could appreciate, at least. But their neck hurt more than usual today and they had slept completely horribly, plagued with some kind of nightmare they couldn't quite remember. Shaking their head, as if trying to dispel any negative thoughts, they continued their way down the hall, a serious expression on and rubbing their chin.
Ahead, they heard low voices from Maverick's office.
Ah, I should probably meet up with the others to help discuss and organize. They thought, as they, too approached Maverick's doorway and gave a gentle knock against the wall. Azura glanced in, lifting a hand in greeting to the two inside.
"Pardon the interruption, but I hear we're getting newcomers?" They rasped.
Lazuli Tian | female | 25 | wings manifestation
gifted | location: van | tags: Apollo
Things seemed to move by in a blur. One moment, Lazuli was certain she was on her way to preparing for a commercial checkride (an exam, essentially) with her flight instructor. The next, she was being ambushed by one of her fellow students, and her
[friend], somehow ended up lodged in that balcony-
Lazuli sighed, motionless in her place in that awful, rickety van - motionless, mostly because she was in something of an inhumane combination of a straitjacket and some overly-restrictive chains. She was tired of thinking about this, tired of the anxiety in her stomach and all the what-ifs, and the rattling, jarring feelings that came with being suddenly seized by government officials, all over having some strange quirk they considered 'dangerous'. But it wasn't like Lazuli
liked hurting people, and it wasn't her fault people loved deceiving others. And it certainly wasn't
her fault when she realized what was happening and accidentally dropped someone from several feet above the ground...
Okay, that last bit was probably her fault, actually.
As she sat, miserably thinking about things, she barely registered the others sitting with her. That is, until one of them unexpectedly produced a flame, destroying what looked like some sort of bird figure made out of shadow. Lazuli snapped her head towards the two of them - siblings, perhaps? she wasn't sure - and made a face.
"Jeez.... was that really necessary?" She remarked. "Jerk."
Sen Lin | genderless (they/them) | 22 | sound/voice mimicry
gifted | location: van | tags: open
Sen probably should've seen this coming. They had been arrogant, overly confident in their abilities. And yet, they still felt a bit indignant at this treatment, being shoved into an uncomfortable mask of sorts and handcuffed, and then thrown into a van with a bunch of other wretches. They wondered what they were all in for - a few of the others seemed apprehensive. Sen, on the other hand, felt almost gleeful. So they think they could keep
them captive, eh? Well, whoever the hell they are, they certainly have a storm of a lifetime coming.
By now, Sen had managed to pick the locks to their handcuffs and had been fiddling with the mask for a while, now. They couldn't quite figure out how to get it entirely
off, but they supposed they would be free to talk whenever they pleased. They weren't entirely sure how this would impact their ability, though.
Chin rested casually on their hands, they continued watching the others through glittering eyes. Among the strange lot of them - frost-breathed stranger, excessively angry fire wielder (unsurprising, this one), and someone who seemed a
little too happy to be here, to list a few examples - Sen was surprised to see
Azura's niece sitting with them. She didn't seem to have noticed them yet, though.
Hm... intriguing situation we have here... Sen thought.
