a. Tawnyrose's patrol seemed to have the same outcome as Softglow's, just more concerning. As Tawnyrose and
her attendant Bluetcrest scavenged for a lucky catch, instead of a good-looking finch they expected to find,
they find fox droppings and discarded bones of a rabbit. It was fresh and the patrol didn't have to take another
sniff to know it. They had caught a singular vole to bring back to camp but what was more concerning than
the lack of prey at only the beginning of Leaf-bare was the fox lurking to find its next meal.

b. Softglow leads the hunting patrol through the harsher winds of Leaf-bare. Being here had only made him
realize that not only did the Highgarden cat's know little warmth, but neither were they much talkers. Or
maybe it was just because they had a distaste for him, Softglow leaned to the latter. The hunting job proved
to be a challenge as they only bought back one mouse.

c. Surely, it's easy to learn how to stalk. But, trainee Hornetpaw seems too distracted thinking of the mysterious
Groveclan apprentice who saved him from death. Dippernose loses hope of trying to train the thorn right and
cancels training for the noon. Hornetpaw fails to learn to stalk.

d. It was time for Merlinsong to get to business. This Leaf-bare wasn't going to be easier than the last, scouting
for any surviving herbs he finds +1 celandine and +1 lovage just a tail-tip away from the prowling frost.

Cold. Both the air and the cats of Mistclan. Cold is all that is around the swamp lands and it is taking its tole on cats normally cheery. Chervilpatch and Camberpool, though they have fun on their herb hunts, stay quiet and distant in the clan for fear of ridicule and Shadowstar coming out and removing their rank, Camberpool the more scared of the two for fear of being kicked out of the clan for his disability.

Vervaincloud hadn't thought of where his relationship with Gorsebird might lead. When he first met the EchoClan molly, he was new to the world of the Clans, and he certainly didn't expect for them to go on for as long as they did. His initial plan was to string her along, make her believe there was something, and then break things off when she did. He would move on to the next cat, leaving a long trail of broken hearts in his wake. But Vervaincloud had been foolish, and now he was tied down to her forever through the three-month-old kit that she left in his care.

He held the kit by the scruff as they trekked behind the three other cats leading the patrol back home, not a word exchanged between them. Sheepcoat cast an uneasy glance at them both, only turning her head away as Vervaincloud returned her look with narrowed eyes. Pinekit, aside from a few tearful sniffles, was also quiet. He suspected the kitten was coming to terms with his situation and therefore was silent out of shock. 'He'll be fine soon enough,' Vervaincloud thought dismissively, after all, PineClan never had a shortage of kits nowadays. Pinekit could distract himself with them just fine.

"We're getting close to camp now," Sheepcoat mewed, coming to a halt with Turtlefur and Duckfoot following in succession. "would you like to explain him to Mintstar, or should we?" She asked, though judging by her serious tone, it'd be him to tell their leader of his affair whether he wanted to or note. Vervaincloud set Pinekit down and the little kit situated himself in a fearful crouch as soon as his paws touched the ground. His big blue eyes were wide as he stared up at the four adult cats and with a bitter taste in his mouth, Vervaincloud took note of how eerily similar the color of his son's eyes were to Gorsebird's.

"He's my kit - I can handle telling Mintstar about him myself." He coolly told the white molly. Sheepcoat's stare was calculative as if she knew there was something else he was neglecting to say, but she eventually relented and signaled with a wave of her tail for Turtlefur and Duckfoot to follow her through the camp's entrance. Vervaincloud and Pinekit were left alone. The latter was still crouched, though his owlish eyes followed the other cats as they went.

Pinekit jumped in surprise as Vervaincloud tapped him on the shoulder, even he recoiled back. "S-Sorry, dad." He stuttered, his big ears flattening to the back of his head as he saw Vervaincloud grimace. With a sigh, Vervaincloud nudged his head towards the entrance, beckoning him to follow. "Come along then, let's get you inside before we both freeze."

hiya! i'm gonna be your trial mod for a while. let's do our best to have a productive time! 8) yay cat murder!

Leaf-bare
For some, the first snows have arrived. For others, it is simply a chill in the air. Regardless, all clans will experience leafbare as a harsh and unforgiving season. Queens and kits are more likely to die during birth, prey will flee from patrols, and loners are less likely to stray from their warm city homes. In addition, predators and sicknesses abound, waiting for the chance to pick off the weak. All in all, it is best for a clan to be at full strength during this time.

wildclan fasts. some of the cats are quite unhappy about this, but they will simply have to make do. hungry kits ask their mothers for milk, and whine when there is no positive response. everyone must sacrifice for the good of the clan during leaf-fall and leaf-bare.

the dark forest cats converse together after coyotestar makes her request for a medicine cat apprentice. wildclan have always been their loyal followers... so their wishes do not go unheard. a young medicine cat apprentice is sent the following morning to the clan's camp.

the two newcoming cats are welcomed into wildclan's ranks. with leafbare upon them, they will need as many paws as they can get to help them.

the cobwebs help to heal dawnclaw. however, milkpool and hawkstorm can do nothing but rest, as their wounds cannot yet be treated due to a lack of herbs. with leaf-bare's claws now gripping the clan tight, the likelihood that they will find the herbs needed is not good.

echopaw and dawnclaw are able to train again, and dawnclaw is impressed with her progress. echopaw is able to learn the endurance skill.

viperpaw and mintstep also progress in their training alongside dawnclaw and echopaw. viperpaw teases echopaw a bit and the two get into a friendly scuffle, during which viperpaw learns the stealth skill.

ivypaw and hazelcloud are not so lucky, unfortunately. ivypaw fails to learn a skill, and she feels a heavy shame on her shoulders for feeling as though she has failed her mentor.

pebblepaw and coyotestar train after coyotestar returns from asking the dark forest for a medicine cat apprentice. they do a good bit of talking, and decide today might be the best day for some introspective training. pebblepaw learns the balance skill.

pastelpaw and sloefur spend some time out in the snow to get pastelpaw's endurance up. pastelpaw learns the endurance skill.

pumpkinpaw and dingotuft attempt to do some hunting, but... pumpkinpaw trips over her own feet and scares away the prey for quite some time (what little prey there is). she apologizes profusely to dingotuft, but she still feels quite bad. she did not learn a skill.

oysterpaw and charmshake were, unfortunately, in the area when pumpkinpaw startled the prey, so their training was also ruined. oysterpaw failed to learn a skill, and is feeling a little irritated with pumpkinpaw.

despite fervent searching, saltsoul's patrol can only find one herb in their time out. all they find is a single dock leaf.

coyotestar's patrol does better than they expected, and they find a pigeon worth two servings. it is somehow still fat despite the lack of food.

despite their numbers, ospreytalon's patrol only manages to catch one rat. everyone is thankful that coyotestar's patrol did better.

heronswoop's patrol was largely uneventful, save for when ivypaw slipped on a patch of ice and fell on her butt in front of everyone. nothing was hurt except her pride.

finchfeather's patrol was entirely uneventful.

Last Moon
Silverstem had an exhilarating first outing since she joined TwistedClan. They had spotted a new bordering clan and found a new apprentice for the ranks as well. She had fallen to the back of the patrol with the young cat off to the side of Morningstar still unsure of everyone, and Rainsong was glancing off to the border every now and then. She was very glad there was no scent of dogs found on their patrol, but her heart sank at the thought of Copperleaf’s patrol finding anything. Silverstem only hoped she was strong enough to handle whatever life threw at her.

Spottednose was quite overwhelmed. Not long after the two dog patrols embarked on their journeys, Birchwhisker had gone into labor. “Just one more push,” He pushed another clump of soaked moss so the panting queen could lick some moisture up. He really hoped Birchwhisker only had this one more kit to go; the first five kits already had sapped most of her energy. This better brighten some of the Clan’s spirits, Spottednose grumpily thought. The queen pushed out her last kit with a groan. “Very good.” Spottednose cleaned the kit so Birchwhisker could catch her breath. “It’s over.”
“That,” Birchwhisker whispered with her eyes closed. “was unpleasant.”
“You better have thought of potential names,” Spottednose nudged the six kits towards their mother to start to nurse.
“Stormstrike and I had shared some thoughts early on,” Birchwhisker craned her neck so she could scan over her kits for the first time. The two broke off, however, as they heard movement in the camp. “They’re back.” Birchwhisker narrowed her eyes. “I’ll be fine here for a moment. Go find out what happened.”
Spottednose nodded and headed out. “Copperleaf?” The deputy sized him up. “The verdict?”
“There’s more of them.” Copperleaf responded.

Present
Morningstar turned to the old tree next to her. The last time she was up there, Rainpaw become Rainsong. She glanced at her back paw and gritted her teeth. She would make it up there.
“Do you need me to-“ Sunchaser started.
“No.” Morningstar curtly said. She heaved herself onto the first branch that dipped close to the ground. She sat to recover her breath for a second. She was high enough anyway. “Let all cats that can are able to climb a tree gather below!” Morningstar yowled. TwistedClan gathered in bunches around the roots of the tree. Pebblekit was quivering with excitement. “Pebblekit, come to the base of the tree, please. You are ready to be apprenticed to Sunchaser. Sunchaser has shown excellent level-headedness, and he will teach Pebblepaw to the best of his ability.”
Sunchaser touched noses to Pebblepaw as the Clan welcomed the new apprentice by shouting his new name. Silverstem was the loudest voice of all. Morningstar clumsily slid down back to the ground.
“Congratulations, Pebblepaw!” Rainsong came up behind the new mentor and apprentice. “Sunchaser.” She nodded to Sunchaser, eyes adverted.
“Thanks!” Pebblepaw bounced up and down.
“You’ll have to come and practice with us.” Sunchaser said, but Rainsong was already moving back through the crowd. Morningstar witnessed this and sighed.

Stonefrost quickened his pace as he heard the loud noises of cats. He ducked underneath a low hanging branch as he approached the scents of many cats. He was pretty sure that the voices were shouting at the end of an apprentice ceremony. Thank StarClan, he thought. Another Clan.

Pebblepaw could not sleep the night after he became an apprentice. He was finally free of Silverstem’s constant watch, sleeping by Blossompaw and Nightpaw instead of the queens. Luckily Blossompaw turned out to be quite a heavy sleeper, snoring away through all of Pebblepaw’s tossing and turning. The moon had risen high in the sky by the time Pebblepaw had given up trying to fall asleep, and he tiptoed out of the cabin of sleeping cats. He was surprised to see a silhouette of a cat in the middle of the clearing, head towards the stars. Pebblepaw crept closer and discovered it was Spottednose looking to the sky. He stepped on a clump of crunchy leaves, alerting the medicine cat of his presence. Spottednose’s head snapped in his direction, and Pebblepaw sheepishly came forward. Pebblepaw would have preferred to curl back in his nest undiscovered by the intimidating medicine cat, but it was too late now.
“Cannot sleep?” Spottednose’s attention was fixed back on the night sky.
“No.” Pebblepaw sat a couple tail-lengths away from Spottednose. “Are you looking for something?”
“Can you see anything?”
“Just stars, I guess. Some clouds.”
“Me too.”
“Am I supposed to be seeing anything else?”
“I don’t know.” Spottednose sighed. “I just don’t know.”
“Silverstem is worried about the Clan.” Pebblepaw offered.
“Are you?” Spottednose turned back to the new apprentice. Pebblepaw fidgeted under the scrutinizing gaze.
“I-I don’t know.” Pebblepaw said uncomfortably.
“Hmph.” Spottednose huffed. “You shouldn’t be too concerned now.” He checked the sky once more and stretched his neck. “And I doubt Sunchaser would appreciate you being tuckered out before the first day of training, no?”
Pebblepaw felt like he had just been scolded. “I guess not.”
“Good night.” Spottednose resumed his stargazing position. Pebblepaw padded a few steps back towards the cabin but halted before he reached the entrance. When he turned around, Spottednose was only a silhouette once again.

When Sunchaser finally rolled out of his nest in the middle of the morning, most of the patrols had already left the camp. He didn’t mean to slightly oversleep, but he hoped it wouldn’t set them back. Pebblepaw was not deterred about the semi-late start to the day; actually, Sunchaser did notice he still looked a bit tired. Copperleaf, however, was wide awake and waiting for them by the fresh-kill pile. Blossompaw was nearby, observing Galapaw laying out some herb leaves to dry. Nightpaw was solemnly assessing the different kinds of prey in the pile while Ruststripe was trying to prod him into holding a conversation.
“I was planning on having on all of the apprentices knock out some swimming before the creek freezes.” Copperleaf stood. “And the water levels have decreased.”
Sunchaser was a bit disappointed that the first training session with Pebblepaw would be a joint session, but he didn’t dwell on it. “Perfect. Pebblepaw, let’s go.” Sunchaser’s confidence came back in a rush when Pebblepaw fell in step behind them, and Blossompaw had to be called twice by Copperleaf. I really can do this, he thought. So what if Rainsong has been particularly distant?

Rainsong quickly realized that Patchedmask and she never really set up another time for their next meeting. Her time was now spent on her normal TwistedClan duties and keeping an eye out on their shared border. She had discovered a cool formation of rocks near an old willow tree on the border, so she spent most of her time climbing and sunning herself. Only a few days after they had first spoke, Rainsong caught sight of Patchedmask. She stalked him through the bushes. "Hey!" She hissed to get his attention.
“Rainsong?” Patchedmask twisted around. “I’ve been waiting for you!”
Rainsong headbutted his shoulder in greeting. "Next time we should figure out when we should meet!" She chuckled.
"That might be a bit less stressful." The tom agreed.
"But let me show you something fun." Rainsong led him to her pile of rocks. "Up here I like to watch all the trees sway in the breeze and the leaves fall." The two perched on the rocks together. "I leave all my worries in camp. Up here I can just think about me. What's new in DewClan?"
“Not too much. A new warrior arrived this moon, and Dawnlight, a queen, gave birth. It was unfortunate because she lost a kit, but she’s happy with her three little kits.” He shrugged, and she quickly tried to take in all that information. “So, what’s new with TwistedClan? Last time you said things were tense, but we didn’t have time to discuss anything.” He continued.
Rainsong hesitated. She really didn't know this tom very well, and she didn't want Morningstar to think she was becoming unloyal to TwistedClan. But Patchedmask was being forthcoming and candid, so a little information probably didn't hurt. "Well, in the last few moons we had Stormstrike and Gingerblaze die. Some of us are worried that there might be some sort of curse in TwistedClan." Rainsong saw he was becoming worried. "Spottednose hasn't had any signs from StarClan, but it has been tough times." She added. "I don't know what to think."
Patchedmask frowned. “I’m sorry for your losses. I’m sure things will get better, if it’s a curse, a curse can’t last forever.”
Rainsong nudged his shoulders. "Thanks for the kind wishes." She mewed.
“No problem,” Patchedmask smiled, but it quickly faded.
"But I have to go." Not wanting the tom to protest, she continued. "There have been dogs coming closer and closer to our camp, and today we are finally going to take the fight to them." Rainsong paused, taking in a deep breath. "I promise I'll be back, though."
“Fight dogs? They’ll rip you to shred! You can’t possibly fight them!” He yowled.
Rainsong looked at her paws. "I know, but we have no choice. They've taken Gingerblaze, and we can't have it happen again." She shuddered. "I hope everyone comes out okay, but life is never perfect. I'm glad I got to spend time with you today, though!" She tried to make her voice light but it only sounded tired.
Patchedmask sighed, resigned to the facts. “Stay safe, and you should get some sleep in if you can before the fight. You look exhausted.” He said gently, touching his nose to her shoulder. “If you can, meet me next moon.”
Rainsong leaned into his touch. "I will. I promise I will." She pivoted, carefully selecting the sturdy rocks to reach the forest floor once more. Patchedmask stayed on the top, watching her move. He looked very steady up there, so sure of himself and his next moves. She took in his silhouette.
This might be the last time I see him, Rainsong thought. When she was younger and in the streets, she had seen death in all different shapes and forms, but she had never thought about her own death and how near it might really be. "Goodbye," She whispered once more and disappeared back into the trees to meet with her own Clan.

Ruststripe felt invigorated after taking all of the apprentices swimming, but his good feelings sank as they returned to a pacing Morningstar. Copperleaf and him both approached her.
“It’s time.” Morningstar snarled. “Get ready to bring the fight to those mutts.”
“Who shall I round up?” Copperleaf asked.
“Anyone who is able,” Morningstar decided. “Blossompaw comes. The other two young apprentices can decide for themselves.”
“I’ll ask Nightpaw,” Ruststripe turned and was startled to find his apprentice quietly sitting behind him.
“I’ll come,” Nightpaw responded quietly.
“I want to go too!” Pebblepaw shouted.
“You will not.” Silverstem interjected sternly.
Morningstar fixed her with a glare. “He is old enough to decide himself. If Pebblepaw wishes to fight for his Clan, he may.”
Spottednose approached the leader. “Can I have a word?”
“You may,” Morningstar and Spottednose edged away from the main group. Ruststripe shuffled closer.
“I’ve finally had a dream,” He muttered.
“And?”
“I didn’t see much, only blood on the leaves and barking filled the air.”
“Thank you for the insight.”
“I wish you well, Morningstar.”
“I’ll see you soon, Spottednose. I promise.” Morningstar touched noses to the medicine cat. Ruststripe felt a pang of jealousy and looked away guiltily. He was happy they were getting along again, but he wasn’t completely sure how far their friendship and relationship went. As the leader left, Ruststripe headed towards the other tom on a whim.
“I’ll make sure that she comes back for you.” Ruststripe said.
Spottednose scrutinized him. “I’m sure she would value your one life more than one of hers. Even if she doesn’t know yet.”
Ruststripe tilted his head. “So, you guys aren’t…?”
Spottednose sighed and rolled his eyes. “Definitely not. Go for it.”
Ruststripe smiled, a wave of relief flooding through him as he started walking back to the patrols forming. “Thanks for clearing that up.”
“Ruststripe?” Spottednose called after him. He paused, turning his head back. “I’m more into toms myself.” He winked. Ruststripe chuckled to himself. He felt more confident knowing that he didn’t have to compete with Spottednose anymore. He would bring hell to those dogs.

Nightpaw stood beside a trembling Pebblepaw, staring into the depths of the forest.
“Are you scared?” Blossompaw hissed. Pebblepaw jumped and spun around. The two she-cat apprentices were behind them. Nightpaw turned lazily.
“I’m not s-scared!” Pebblepaw protested.
Galapaw pushed Blossompaw. “Don’t tease him. I’m sure you’re just as nervous.”
Blossompaw scoffed. “I’m never scared of ugly ol’ dogs.”
“You should be.” Nightpaw jutted in softly. “I’ve seen them rip cats apart.”
Her eyes widened. “You have not!”
Nightpaw shrugged. “It’s not my duty to make you believe me.” He turned back to the forest. He blocked out their nervous squabbling now and calmed his heartbeat with the noises of the trees. What would happen will happen, and he liked to make the most out of every moment. The trees were calming. There would be nothing calming about the dog fight, so he had to make the most of it.

Mod Notes: could Rainsong, Sunchaser, and Ruststripe to be taken out of any rolls for death as there are a few ideas I would like to write with them? Also, you can roll for any other cat death for the fight! I want to be surprised how lives, who dies, and then I'll tell their story.

[ Oighir's hunting patrol doesn't seem to be able to catch anything for most of their time out of camp. Dejected, they start heading back to camp, until Snowtuft scents squirrel. They give this creature a chase, determined to find prey in this leafbare season, and manages to catch it. They bring back the Squirrel x1 back to camp. ]
[ Oíche's hunting patrol has worse luck, as none of them manage to scent any sort of prey. They return to camp, empty-pawed and disappointed, but clinging onto hope the other patrol is luckier. ]
[ Dramhail's border patrol is miserably boring, out in the cold weather. She shivers and tells the patrol to head back after marking their borders. After all, they hadn't seen any suspicious signs of intruders or predators anywhere. {Dramhail's patrol passes uneventfully.} ]
[ Sneachta's border patrol is also going uneventfully. They'd marked the borders, and even gone in a circle to retrace their steps, just in case they missed something important or dangerous... but nothing. Sighing, Sneachta signals to her patrolmates to return to camp. {Sneachta's patrol passes uneventfully.} ]
[ Réalta points out the distinctive leaves of yarrow to her fellow medicine cats; together, the three she-cats carefully takes some for the Clan. Along the way back, the medicine cats of RobinClan also find some juniper berries, chickweed, even some precious lovage. Delighted, the she-cats bring their bundle of herbs back to camp, their spirits lifted. { The medicine cats gather Yarrow x1, Juniper Berries x2, Chickweed x1, and Lovage x1 while herb hunting. ]
[ While Fómhar, Marmair, and Scréachóg listen intently on the explanations their mentors give them on the importance of learning how to stalk prey, only Marmair is the only one who can execute it properly the first time asked to do a stance. Fómhar also gets the hang of it after a few tries, while Scréachóg seems too distracted by the biting cold winds of leafbare. {Fómhar and Marmair learn the Stalking skill. Unfortunately, Scréachóg does not learn the Stalking skill. Better luck next time! ]
[ Bainne isn't so sure if he can learn the combat skill, judging by what his mentor told him. But he tries his best, and stares in shock as his mentor, Oighir, praises him for understanding the basics that quickly. He did it! {Bainne learns the Combat skill!} ]
[ While their mentors are showing how to do the hunting crouch correctly, Milis and Dúsachtach seem more interested in teasing each other than listening to their respective mentors. Understandably, their mentors shake their heads when the two apprentices attempt to do the crouch themselves. Milis's tail keeps going up in the air, while Dúsachtach's tail keeps hitting the ground with loud thumps. óir and Coirt then makes the apprentices promise that they'd do better next time. {Neither apprentice were able to learn the Hunting skill this moon. ]

[ StarClan cats look down on the goings-on in The Empire of the Gods, and cannot help but disagree with how much Tawnyfall is treated there; however, they know that she has a role to play in the course of the Clan's history, and they can only cheer for the she-cat. ]
[ Rookiewidgeon excitedly listens to her mentor, Percy, right until the very end of his speech on fishing methods. She then goes to sit down and watch the fish in the water carefully, just as Percy told her to. When something catches her eyes, she swipes at the fish deftly with her small paws. While not enough to completely finish the fish off, the prey does end up flung onto the shore, where it dies shortly after flopping helplessly. Percy nods warmly at his apprentice -she'd earned that catch for sure. {Rookiewidgeon learns the Fishing skill!} ]
[ Cadetswan complains to his mentor that the water is much too cold for his paws, and gets a mouthful of scolding. Pulling a face at the less-than-stellar response from Blazelion, Cadetswan decides he should risk getting his paws cold, and goes in, only to splutter wildly about how cold the water is before dashing out of there. Shaking his head at his apprentice, Blazelion calls it a day. Maybe next time, Cadetswan would realize how important swimming was for an Empire cat to learn... {Unfortunately, Cadetswan fails to learn the Swimming skill.} ]
[ Cadetstorm grumbles under his breath as Civetfang instructs him to crouch down, to try out the hunting crouch for the first time. Remembering how to do the stance, Cadetstorm crouches down, face and tail lowered to the ground, nose pulled close to the ground to track the movements of his imaginary potential prey. He is only relieved when he hears Civetfang say he did a good job, and lets out the breath he didn't even know he was holding. {Cadetstorm learns the Hunting skill!} ]
[ Cadetpool watches closely as Paisleyburner applies the herbs at Elmblood's kitting, and learns so much out of this situation. {Cadetpool learns how to assist queens at kitting!} ]
[ With Paisleyburner and Cadetpool's help, Elmblood's kitting went very smoothly. Soon, the queen is staring at her two beautiful bundles of fur, laying down by her side for milk and warmth. {Elmblood gives birth to two healthy kits!} }
[ Cleopatra enters the medicine cat's den nervously, hoping no one is looking at her at the moment. A few moments later, however, the beautiful pharaoh rushes out of the den, clearly excited by the news the medicine cats have given her. She can't wait to tell the handsome QuickClan cat the good news! {After checking with Paisleyburner, Cleopatra is pleased to learn that she will be carrying Redstar's kits. She will give birth in two posts.} ]
[ Flareblood looks over his shoulder at the rest of his patrol, and mentions that he can smell non-Empire cats. Creeping closer, they stumble upon a ragtag group of three. After forcing them to talk, the patrol is astonished to hear that they come from three different Clans, and wishes to start anew. Looking at each other, the four cats agree to bring them back to camp, though they cannot guarantee their permanent stay. After all, they don't know what King Noble will be thinking. {While on patrol, Flareblood, Nettlesting, Percy, and Rookiewidgeon stumble across three cats - Auletris, Elkpaw, and Neritevine.} ]
[ Blazelion shivers in the chilly wind, and calls to his patrolmates to return. He is sure there is nothing going on, at least in this part of the Empire's territory. Together, the patrol return to camp, both happy (that their patrol didn't encounter something dangerous) and somber (because they think it's too quiet out there) at the same time. {Blazelion's patrol passes uneventfully.} ]
[ Rogerfang signals to his Clanmates, and the three notice that there's a rabbit near them. Though scrawny and stringy-looking, it's the only thing the patrol has managed to see in these neck of the woods. Tiptoeing closer, Rogerfang is the one to pounce on the rabbit and catch it. {The patrol bring back to the Clan Rabbit x1.} ]
[ Splashingtorrent's patrol, on the other paw, was having a blast. It had been a while since they'd seen this much prey out where they were, and soon, they manage to catch three voles. Happily, they bring the fresh-kill back to camp. {Splashingtorrent's patrol bring back to the Clan Vole x3.} ]
[ StarClan listens to Noble's request, and deliberates for some time. While they are not fond of how Noble calls himself 'Supreme Commander', or how he took over the Clan, but they did grant him nine lives after all. Sighing, the ancestors promise the Empire's leader with a cat, and soon, when Noble goes back to camp, there is a cat waiting for him, claiming they were sent by the stars. ]

[ Patrolling the vast stretch of territory by herself is no simple task, and Bramblebelly knows this. She sighs and decides to call it a day, sensing and seeing nothing of interest or concern, but before she reaches camp, she stumbles upon a cat looking curiously at the entrance to the RidgeClan camp. Hoping it's a sign from StarClan, the medicine cat invites them in. {While on patrol, Bramblebelly encounters a curious loner.} ]

[ Mountainstar looks up from his successful catch of a squirrel, only to see a cat watching him curiously. When challenged, the cat explains that they are just curious why a cat is living all alone by himself. Mountainstar replies that he is the founder of MoonClan, and soon, the cat wants to join his new Clan. {While hunting, Mountainstar catches Squirrel x1. Right after, he is approached by a curious cat who wishes to join his Clan.} ]

The large tabby tom felt relief course through his system as the squirrel became limp underpaw, but a rustle ahead called his attention and when the tom glanced up he found himself staring straight at a black and white she-cat. Mountainstar watched her for a moment longer before letting out a friendly mrrow in greeting, relaxing when she returned the friendly greeting. He waited for her to step closer before introducing himself as the founder of Moonclan, amusement lighting his eyes when she looked at him curiously, asking what Moonclan was. Mountainstar picked up the squirrel and led the she-cat back to the cave he'd found that would act as the camp, he placed the prey down and motioned for her to join him as he ate. He explained to her the values he wanted for his clan and told her about how the moon shines over the centre of the cave due to the large gap in the roof, his tone kind as her eyes shone with interest. The she-cat waited a moment longer before requesting to join his clan and Mountainstar agreed immediately, later finding out that her name was Ivynose. The two cats became aquatinted before Mountainstar left to patrol the new territory, Ivynose promising to go hunting to replace the squirrel they'd consumed.

The most dangerous season for the Clans. Even if there is no snow on the ground, the cold brings the higher possibility of cats getting sick or dying during kitting. Prey and cats alike wish to do nothing more than hide in their dens to avoid Leafbare, reducing the amount of prey found on patrols, as well as reducing the chance to find new cats on border patrols.
