Darkshadow finds him wading in the river at the edge of the Watermongers' territory. It's not unusual to see jaguars in the water, of course, but they're usually hunting when they're in there. This brute doesn't seem concerned about disturbing anything, though he is looking for something quite fervently.

"Hello, stranger," Darkshadow greets. The jaguar twitches his ears to show that he's listening, at least somewhat. "What brings you to Watermongers territory?"

"I'm searching," the brute responds. "For herbs, of course. Watercress is in short supply around these times and I need more. Cats like it because it flavors prey and also heals sickness, and if I'm going to trade for enough prey to last me this season I'll be needing it."

"Does the prey not run well in your lands?" Darkshadow asks. She pauses for a moment, then says, "My name is Lady Darkshadow Clearwater of the Pondhoppers, but you may simply call me Darkshadow. I'm the Fae Leader of the Watermongers, and as luck would have it, we're in need of an herbalist. Would you be willing to help?"

"If you're willing to help me carry what I've found back to your dens, then yes," the jaguar says. "You may call me Madrugada Garra de Plata Cola Larga. Pleasure to be of service."

The slim cheetah gave thanks to the ancestors for granting his request before turning to the new Whispering Willows member. Before Kaze stood a large yet peaceful looking tiger who dipped his head to him. "My king." the striped male spoke, his voice deep and full of wisdom. "Please... call me Kaze." Kaze spoke, dipping his head in return to the tiger. The tiger gave a small smile before speaking once more. "I am Kashikoi. I am glad to be here, and hope to serve the glaring for many moons." Kashikoi spoke. The two exchanged looks, not having to speak to communicate with one another. They just had a good connection and understanding of one another already.

whiskerstar continued on his patrol, nose twitching as he followed the scent of cat. he wasn’t sure what breed, but it was certainly a cat. whiskerstar hopes the cat would be eligible for the position of herbalist as the new mother, mayheart was expecting a litter. as an ordinary cat - and a tom - whiskerstar had no idea what birthing was like, nor when the litter would be born. as far as he knew, they could be due any moment.

mayheart gaped her jaws open in a large, loud yawn as she awoke, stretching out and revealing her belly to the sky. her belly was swollen with kits, and she frowned at the thought of her mate. she’d grown up side-by-side with him amongst another clan, but they were separated once the clan was attacked. mayheart prayed daily that she’d find her mate, alive. shaking her head, the mother closed her eyes and flopped over onto her side, no longer showing her belly before falling asleep once more.

L A S T M O O N:
Aricstar sniffed the air, ears twitching. Scents of prey filled his nose, but he was looking for somethinf in particular. A stream. Then he caught a scent.

The stream was shallow, but silver flashed in the sunlight as little bodies wriggled through the water. Aricstar leaned back, so his large shadow didn't fall across the water. His paw lashed out, and a shimmering body arched through the air. A quick smash of it's spine rendered the fish dead.

Aricstar licked his lips, but he knew he should catch more fish. If anycat decided to join his glaring, they may want food - or may see it as an insult that they couldn't catch their own. So he would catch it, but not offer it.

Another paw slash narrowly missed a juicy carp, and Aricstar growled, glaring at the body as it wriggled out of sight. Another try, though, and he had caught another. He was about to try again when a terrified yowl rang out. Aricstar stood in alarm and the fish scattered at the sight of his shadow. He cursed whatever had made the noise, and, hiding the fish, set out to find it.

N O W:
Smalltail had come a long way from the yowling cat in the forest. He was young, sure, but the loner had taken immediately to the idea of a Glaring and esaping....well whatever he was escaping. He hadn't told Aricstar nor Nightfur, the SIC that had joined per request two days earlier. But neither had pressed him.

His two Glaring members had gone hunting, and he hoped they'd catch something other than fish. Landfall had plenty. Aricstar stretched out in the sun happily. Well they were gone, he did have time for a nap...

The Clay Roamers are big cats that live in the Skull Canyon. The only way in and out of the canyon is through arches and every cat in the area knows that once they cross through those arches they are never coming back. The only signs that there is life in the canyon are the occasional skull that is found washed up by the river. This is where Skull Canyon gets it's name.
The Clay Roamers are secluded and the entire canyon is their territory. They move around from season to season to make sure no one is creeping on their territory. These cats are rarely seen by others and there are many myths about this glaring. Some believe that the glaring died off long ago and these sightings are the ghosts of the past. Others believe that the cats have been so secluded from other cats that they can only speak in a strange tongue. But they all agree on one thing; those who have seen a Clay Roamer and lived to tell the tale are lucky.
The Clay Roamers worship two gods who created the canyon. The bobcat brothers, Ree, Mylik, and Dayin, wandered around the world looking for the perfect place to create a paradise as other ancient cat deities began to claim their own territory. Ree, the master of the ground, scouted out the perfect land with gems and layers of beautiful rock. Ree created walls of stone and caves for shelter. Mylik was the master of water and he began to raise a lake that would supply the animals there with plenty of water. Dayin, the master of vegetation, grew trees and bushes and grass along the lakefront. Mylik summoned even more water and began flooding the canyon. He believed that the perfect paradise was an ocean, not a canyon. Soon all of the caves flooded and the stone was harshly beaten by the flow. Ree and Dayin became furious at Mylik. They banded together and banished Mylik. Ree and Dayin restored the land, but without Mylik, only a small river remained. Daying was only able to create a small amount of vegetation around.
The sight of worship for Ree is a deep underground cave. Prayers there ask for warriors and big decisions are made there. Ceremonies are held in the cave on the full moon of the month. At that time, the moon's light reflects perfectly on the gems and the cave comes alive. The sight of worship for Dayin is under an arch where it is said that The largest tree stood before the floods. The water caused the tree to bend and turn to stone. Prayers to be answered by Dayin are prayers for littlepaws, kit-mothers, and shamans. Decisions about promotions are also made there.
The cats of the Clay Roamers have mostly sandy and brown pelts, but it is not rare to see a dark pelted cat. The cats come in all sizes and varieties. The Clay Roamers believe that every new cat that comes into the territory is sent by one of the gods. Ree sends light pelts. Dayin sends dark pelts. And Mylik sends hostile or deformed cats. Those cats are usually killed or made to be the lowest rank.

Daquir looked around at the last sight of the former Clay Tribe. He was the only one left since the drought. He knew he had to follow in his father's footsteps and create a new glaring. But this one wouldn't be constricted by having one camp. No. The Clay Roamers would have multiple camps throughout the territory. But first, he needed to find any more survivors or new cats.

The Thundering Storm is a glaring of fierce and brutal wild cats. Like a thunderstorm they are loud and unmerciful towards their opponents, and at first seem vicious. They are loyal to the very end to their allies and fellow clanmates. When a bond is broken The Thundering Storm will never forgive. They are located in the mountains of a deep mountain. The mountain is known as "King's Crown Mountain", a sacred place where their ancestors had lived long ago.
