Adderstrike sighed loudly before making his way sluggishly to sit down in the clearing for a clan meeting. He turned to look around at the gathering of cats and spotted Shrikeclaw off to the side. Smiling subtly, Adderstrike padded back towards the warriors' den where the small, silver cat was positioned. "Are you going to do you're clan some good today and do something helpful for once?" he mewed, towering over the lanky tom. Adderstrike knew for certain that he'd be out marking borders. It's the most interesting thing Swiftstar has asked them to do in the last six moons.

Marigold... Marigold... Horsetail, marigold... Fernpaw had been sorting through herbs when Swiftstar had called the clan meeting. She flicked her large tail irritably once but came bounding out of the medicine den and into the clearing. She looked around quickly for someone to sit buy; not that there was any point. She barely knew any of the apprentices and was too shy to go and introduce herself. After a short moment, Fernpaw decided to sit towards the back where no other cats were to listen to what Swiftstar had to say.

Shrikeclaw listened as swiftstar announced another clan achievement, purring with the rest of the clan in joy, yeah, this was important enough for me to stay up a bit longer. the sleepy tom yawned once more and almost jumped when a voice spoke up right next to him. he glanced towards the scarred tom, Adderstrike could easily be intimidating, he's got the size, the scowl, the dark colors, even the scars! However, since shrikeclaw was half asleep, it didnt faze him any.
"Nope." He said flatly "I helped last night, im going to sleep the day away" The spotted tabby said, flicking his whiskers and curling his tail around his paws. "are you going to be helpful today? or are you going to continue to gloat about your scars to the apprentices?" shrikeclaw shot back, his eyes facing towards the clan leader on the meeting-stump.

Adderstrike scowled, disappointed when the jumpy tom wasn't fazed by his sudden appearance. "So, as I presumed, you'll be completely unhelpful," he spat. Flicking his shredded ear once, Adderstrike turned away from him but stayed to hear what else the younger tom had to say. He shot back around to face Shrikeclaw, glowering. "I'm surprised such a little thing like you can have so much guts," he began, looking off to the side before smiling and stepping closer. "But I'd be careful next time or you might end up with them on the floor."

Shrikeclaw smiled as Adderstrike turned towards the meeting- maybe he was actually planning on being polite when the leader spoke, but then scarred tom spoke again an Shrikeclaw sighed internally. "took you a while to think of that one huh?" he spoke quietly, not wanting to disturb the gathering, but in no way had he hesitated- maybe he was braver when he was half asleep? or stupider for that matter? "maybe you should work on your comebacks, if it takes you that long to think up some words, i'd hate to see how long it would take for you to swing at me; i'd prefer not to fight a turtle." he continued

Adderstrike bristled. "I mean, I have all night, Shrikeclaw. Feel free to hang around and find out just how much my 'slow swipes' hurt," he mewed, his tone sounding almost invited, of course, despite his words. "Shrikeclaw. How'd you get that name, anyway? I've only ever seen you use your claws on mice," Adderstrike added, quite enjoying their little game. "Quite a fair fight if you ask me," he added, smiling and looking back at him with his bright, green eyes.

Swiftstar had thought long and hard about who would be on the first patrol. They would start with one, then eventually have two. “I will take Adderstrike, Olivepaw, and Thrushwing with me on the first patrol.” He announced.

"She-cats you're both pretty now hush up and smarten up" she huffed quietly to the two and flicked her ears irritable. She had been in a good mood until hearing the whispering dorks in front of her and shook her head. Trying to listen to the patrol and seemed satisfied with it.

She struggled and struggled with trying to fix the fur on her back and growled to herself and her eyes quickly landed on Lion's trike who seemed to sit just a distance away. "Lionstrike!" she called out. "C'mere. I need heeeellllppp" she whined aloud. "I can't reach a spot."

Patchpelt was still curled up in a perfectly neat ball in his soft nest. He had arranged it in the most perfect spot in the warriors den and in the most perfect circle he could have made it. He was rather picky on such matters but in the end it made him happy and content. He slept peacefully as his tail slightly flicked about as he purred in his sleep.

xxxxxxA pinch in her stomach eventually roused Oli. Her eyes were heavily sleep swollen so even after a few rapid blinks she was still annoyed by their haze. Swiftstar's voice was the first thing she acknowledged as she caught the sound of her name. Oh no! Shuffling out of the empty apprentice's den in a rush Oli collided into the unsuspecting Fernpaw. With a flustered huff, she apologized.
xxxxxx"Oh fox-dung!" Her pelt was now burning with frustration. "I-I'm so sorry!" Olivepaw picked herself off of Fernpaw's tail. "I can't believe I overslept."
xxxxxxSuddenly remembering that Swiftstar had said her name, panic rose in her chest. Oli forced her pelt to lie flat.
xxxxxx"U-uh Fernpaw, would you happen to have -uh- heard -uh- what Swiftstar said about me?" Oli tried to stay calm but stuttered and glanced around at questioning eyes.

Swiftstar jumped down off of the stump, nodding to Thrushwing. “The patrol will leave immediately. The sooner we scent our borders, the better. Follow me.” With that, the leader made his way towards the camp entrance.

" I got my name because shrikes are skilled hunters and competitively territorial when it comes to their land-" shrikeclaw blinked as bramblefur huffed at them, he closed his mouth- despite wanting to make another remark about how over-the-top adderstrike's name was but decided to listen to the meeting instead. "Well look at that, I guess you were called for the first patrol" shrikeclaw responded "try not to over exert those flexing muscles in front of the apprentice when you're walking- remember, not everybody actually cares about your dog fight...." shrikeclaw paused, stood up, and smirked "wormbite" he couldnt help but chuckle at the fake name, it was so similar to adderstrike's normal name despite it being so much stupider.
