I've struggled so long to be more active ever since I moved in with my boyfriend, but unfortunately it's been extremely difficult. I thought I'd be best to step back from being active in the community going forward into the new year. For the time being, till I figure out how to organize my time properly. There's one new years resolution, yeah?

So with the new year, there also are some updates and announcements to our species.
These are important updates, so be sure to read with care!

[Big Announcements]

The New Viscets

This has been discussed throughout some of last year by the staff and discussed heavily amongst myself and a few others as we moved towards this new year. We've had so many issues and just plain out problems with the Oekaki and this site in general that we've decided to make the transition to dA as primary for this species. This decision doesn't come lightly and we know it may be difficult at first but this in the long run, we feel is the best move for the species and for everyone in general. Nearly half of our artists have issues when trying to access Oekaki or just plain out can't use it, and of the others that still can, they still have some issues with it and it's so much harder on everyone to work on. This is the biggest reason for our move, so many of our artists will be able to become more active again in making adopts and batches that it simply just makes sense.

So we're moving to dA. Does this mean we'll only be making dA adopts now? No, of course not. We will still have "regular" try for adopts (raffles, simple contests, FCFS, impress mes, etc) and we will still have currency adopts (dA & stub). Since we are moving off of CS entirely, there's no way to guarantee if we have any C$ adopts after this point or not since Viscets would no longer be on oekaki.

What about the nursery and hatchery? We'll still have them, just on dA. We have plans to open one of them come February 2019 but that's pending we have everything in order. But we most certainly won't be closing down either of them permanently. It's also worth noting that this change will likely boost our productivity with batches and help us to more quickly complete them. So wait times in the future should be shorter since we won't have to make the batch two or more times before it's posted.

What about owed RUs or Customs? Those will still be completed. Some of our artists have not been able to complete them due to tablets no longer being supported on the oekaki but now they should be able to complete them quickly; same with owed Customs. If the custom is already mostly completed on the oekaki then it'll be completed and posted here but if it's not then it'll be done off-oekaki and submitted to our dA group.

As for any users who don't yet have dA accounts; creating one only takes a couple minutes and is pretty easy to do. Joining our group is also relatively easy on most devices. So if you're interested in sticking with us, then I would love to see you guys there! And to everyone who has already joined or now joining our dA group, I'd love if you could go to this journal and comment with your cs user ID link so we can make sure you're dA name is archived with your cs one. <3

New Lines

So after that big announcement, we also have the addition of another one as well!
Since we were moving to dA, it felt only right to have a fresh start so we have new official Viscet lines which you can see here!

Updates

• We also have some new updates that will be reflected in our rules (which are soon to be adjusted and condensed for transfer onto dA). So just bear with us while we'll updating, adjusting, and getting things fully set up.
  
  
• We will be increasing the number on customs again, so from 10 to 15 in total now.
  
  
• We may have a couple of new traits on the horizon to be revealed come our next anniversary event but you can have a part in suggesting some you'd like to possibly see when we get our suggestions journal up!
  
  
• And as it's been asked about and requested numerous times; we are considering potentially adding a discord server once we've got everything set up on dA so the community can continue to talk and grow together. Updates on that will be posted in an update journal once we've got everything prepared.

Also don't worry, we are aware there are several unjudged viscets, owed RUs, and batches. We will we getting those taken care of this month to ensure that we have nothing left behind unfinished here. <3

I don’t have a DA as of now but I’ll have to seriously consider getting one- I really do love this community and this species and would hate to say goodbye ‘cause of the move. The new lines look awesome!!

Hey everyone! it's really been a while- things flew off the deep end for a little while. Well, most of last year I guess haha. Things are looking up for me now and I am glad to be a bit more active in this community again as we shift to DA, and I'm so excited for this move.

I have to say I'm.. a bit sad to see viscets leave CS. I understand why it has to be done, but I know for at least me I don't think I can be part of the community much if at all. I have little to no access to DA in reality as all my forums for adopts are made on mobile... and god knows how awful DA is for mobile. I'd say I could use my computer time for it but I highly doubt I can do that as that time I *have* to use for commissions.

I hope the move is at least beneficial, but I know for at least me I am disappointed. I hope this community grows even more and I wish I could say I'd be there to watch it all unfold. Perhaps in a few years when I'm allowed able to have a DA and I'm out on my own I can come back! I look forward to that...

I think this might be somewhat of a "farewell" post to the viscet community. I'll cling onto my viscets and come back to check on my RU but until I'm out of the situation I'm in there's little to no way for me to make a form unless I happen to sneak onto DA and see a beautiful babe. I wish you all the best of luck and I pray with every piece of my body I'm able to stay as close to this wonderful community and species as possible. If not, I'll see you guys in a few years <3

Good luck adopting out your kiddo! It seems you have quite a few people interested already, and I absolutely love the contest idea. I used to be a part of this tumblr blog called "six-word stories" and I absolutely loved puzzling out the perfect sentence with impactful meaning. I'll have to go through some of the entries later, I'm sure they'll be really interesting to read through. I bet you'll have a blast judging <3
