sifting is open
sifting is similar to hunting in other adopts, but with it's own RPG qualities
that set it apart from other adoptable hunting. you may sift without a fortune ring,
or with one. you may also bring luck casts to boost your luck of finding something
good. once you enter, you might find items, or come across merchants. if you find something,
it's yours to keep, if you use a positive starting ritual before sifting, the chances of the item
being cursed are reduced by 50%. if you come across a merchant, they will have rarer items,
but they may be priced higher depending on who you find. you also may trade in your items
for bp if you happen to find a merchant. the other possibility is a spirit will find you, the
spirit can be good or bad, depending on how you treat it.

you travel far through the land, eventually
coming across the entry small grotto. it sounds mellifluous inside, hushed whispers reaching
your ears. a waterfall can also be heard. it may be tempting, but could it be dangerous?

I stop at the sound coming from the grotto, tempted to seek out its source, but I couldn't help but wonder if it could potentially be a trick, by some spirits perhaps? You can never really know with these things. Although I did perform a positive ritual before coming out to here, I think to myself. I decide to put my faith into that sole fact and slowly walk into the grotto, carefully following the sounds coming from it.

carefully stepping inside, a small lepidoptera
flutters onto your shoulder, tasting it with it's proboscis.
it was shimmering a delightful blue. when the light
caught it's wings they almost looked like a oil spill.

slicker and moister, eventually threatening to take
hold of your shoes. as you look over the lush fen,
there is a glittering lake in the distance, your
heart races, the issue, it seems there is something
dangerous hiding under the murky water...

I froze, my eyes trailing towards the water slowly, the mud still squishing underneath my boots. I squinted cautiously into the murky depths of the waters. Was there something in there? Is the creature worth a peek? I hesitated for a moment, realizing I've been standing there motionlessly, lost deep in thought for too long. If the creature wanted to attack me, it would've by now.

Curiosity got the best of me, I crept forward to get a better view . . .

shivered as the beast began to emerge. it looked like a silvery
