told myself i wouldn’t start another collection until after i’d finished with lions, but i haven’t really been making progress there recently so i’m finally collecting caterpillars ! they’re some of my favorite pets on the site & i’m so excited

I'm so happy! I just traded for the last owl I needed! If I can somehow manage to get the last spider I need before January I will have completed my goals for 2018. If not then my New Year's resolution is to have a Bumblebee Spider.

Congrats! That's the last owl I need too, it's proving to be very difficult to find though.

I did manage to get the last western dragon I needed for my collection though!

So at least that's one collection marked off my list. I'd like to try and get my eastern dragon and owl collections finished before New Year, buuuut it's looking a little bleak. ;; I had no luck getting any good fodder on the 18th, so I'm having to rely on the small collection of rares that I've dedicated as trade fodder.

hi everyone!
i haven’t consistently been on cs for years, which means really sporatic
adopted litters and a boatload of missed event pets.......... and a LOT
of these trading users are driving me NUTS! im trying to be as fair as
possible in theses trades to catch up on basic monthly adoptables and
people are acting like they’re all list pets, i swear! like, im saying fair
as in HI THESE DOGS ARE FROM THE SAME ‘18 monthly adoptable litter
and they’re both in our trading groups so let’s kill two birds with one
stone!!!!! and they say!!! no!!!!! and won’t even explain why or try to
work anything out!!!! i just!!! im too!!!! old for this!!!!! nonsense!!!!!
this is so not how it used to be

does anyone have any tips on dealing with people like this? it’s really
discouraging and honestly really irritating—especially since it’s just a
bunch of uncommons and commons im asking for

I feel you, seriously. I've dealt with my fair share of traders like this, too. The best way to handle it is to just let it roll off your shoulder, move on, and try again with someone else. For every annoying trader there is, there's at least two good traders that are willing to work with you.

All the pets look different, so even if the dates and rarities are the same, not all the designs are going to appeal the same amount to some people. There are plenty of common and uncommon pets with cute designs that fetch for a decent amount of demand! It's not really the fault of the traders, most of whom are children who have a broader attachment to all their pets, even pets in "trading fodder" folders, because they're just kids after all and this site means more to them than to an older user like me or you. If 13-year-old me saw the pets I was giving away for free, they would faint haha. Just be patient with other people. You'll get those pets you want eventually :) I don't mind slightly overpaying for pets, so maybe try that if you have a lot of fodder. It won't guarantee you accepted trades, but it'll significantly increase the likelihood of that happening.

question: do you think it’s easier to set a goal to complete one small
collection at a time or to have many goals going on at once? or is it a
matter of level headedly balancing both options? in your own exp.

I like having a main quest and a couple of side ones. So my main is a complete dog collection (only 50 or so to go!!) and then i have a few smaller ones to stop me getting bored or deterred. Like PPS birds or caterpillars! I did have the PPS kitties but trying to get the new galaxy kitty has put me off a little the bengal was such a huge relief to get that another UR will surely kill me XD I'm a bit like you i've been super on and off for the past 7 years, mostly off and catch up is the worst every single time, but it just makes it all the more rewarding to trade with lovely people! Just ignore people who don't want to trade fair you'll get there!

To collect all cats at least.. I don't have many pet related goals.

How close are you to completion?
Very far away.

How long have you worked on this goal?
... i don't direct myself to try to do this goal.. Sorry but im busy on art stuff -w-

Finally. Finally. Got this owl.

I should be happier, but finding one and then being able to successfully trade for it was such a struggle. xnx
At least I finally have it, anyway. Maybe I'll be happier about it later after it finally dawns on me that I have it. eue

In other news, I'm two store ferrets away from having a complete Eastern Dragon collection! Maybe I will be able to finish all my goals before the end of the year.
