Mary took a step back as she watched Shelby. "Do you have electrical powers as well?" she asked. She then looked towards the office as the police showed up. "Stay here." she stated, leaving to give them the collar.

Shelby curled up in a ball and hid her face.
Meanwhile, the police stormed in to find Shelby's Mother waiting peacefully.

[Boomer]

Although Mary's back was killing her, she didn't sit and complain. "This was around her daughter." she said, giving them the collar, "She has electrical burns on her neck." Mary wanted to get Shelby checked out at the hospital; the burns needed to be examined, the wound on her thigh needed to be cleaned and stitched up, and Shelby just needed an overall exam.

David noticed Mary's posture. "Take Mary with you to the hospital. She might need some pills or something to help her with the pain." he said.
The police cuffed Shelby's Mother, who was no longer calm but instead screaming profanities and asking to see her daughter. The collar was put into a bag of evidence. "Where is the girl now?" an officer asked.

[Boomer]

"I'm fine." she said quickly, turning to David for a moment. Mary was more concerned about Shelby at the moment. "She's in the teacher's lounge." she answered, waiting for her mother to be escorted out. Mary walked back to the lounge and opened the door. "Shelby, your mom is gone." she said quietly, "Could you come here, please?"

"Y-yes..." Shelby wasn't about to disobey. Mary had done so much for her, after she had been a bully and lied to Mary about bullying Alessa. She followed Mary to the officers.

[Boomer]

"We're going to the hospital to have your injuries looked at." said Mary gently, "The officers want to ask you some questions. Do your best to answer them, okay?" She didn't want the girl to have to be taken to the hospital in the police car, so she turned to the officers. "Would it be acceptable to take Shelby to the hospital in our car?" she asked quietly, "I'd rather not frighten her with putting her in the back of a cruiser."

"Of course. Everything is for the benefit of this child," an officer agreed. They all started driving off, Shelby's Mother going to jail, a few of them going to other distress sites, and most back to the station.
"Where's Alessa?" David asked.

[Boomer]

Mary had led Shelby out to the office to get David, Maria, and Alessa. "She's still with Maria." she answered, "Do you want to come with us or go home?" Maria had a neighbor watching the pups, as she didn't have time to get them to the daycare at the hospital. She was anxious to get back to her girls. Maria stood up with Alessa in her arms.

"I'll go with you. So much has happened, I don't want to be absent if anything new comes to light. Shelby needs full care. And you said you're okay, but you might want to get some meds. We all need you, and I don't want you hurting yourself trying to satisfy everyone at once."
