@Ad0rem3: Hello :3
How large is the tank? Like, how many gallons? Maybe I missed it, sorry, lol.
An update on the Oscar: He is getting along just fine. I had to remove most of the decorations tho. All but the caves. I have a feeling the poor guy suffers from poor eyesight or something. He runs into pretty much everything, full speed sometimes. He is a bit of a character, dashing around and such. But, I feel it's safer to have less things to run into. And he is being more social since (ex: interacting when im in the room, more excited at feeding time, lets me feed him treats with the tweezers). He really likes following your finger around on the glass. Will get a picture once I get a chance to.

What kind of goldfish are you planning on getting? I have three of my own and I love them so much ^v^
17.17 gallons is a little small for most goldfish as they often require 20 gallons to live comfortably. Depending on the size the goldfish may get, however, I'm sure 17 gallons would be alright.

@Ad0rem3:
Goldfish always need at least 20, but they do better with 30 plus and in pairs at least, so I wouldn't get a goldfish. They're not really community fish anyway (theyre really messy and very slow swimmers/eaters), and do better in species-only tanks.
I'd recommend a tropical community with a tank that size - if you want something bigger in there you could look at dwarf gouramis, mollies, or swordtails.

Thank you will definitely look into them ^-^ I'll let you guys know later this week how I go with choosing them C: Any advice for what decorations? will particular things disturb the fish, what would you recommend other than making sure it's made to be in an aquarium

I really appreciate all your input

@Ad0rem3 Yup yup we'd avoid goldfish in a tank that size. They're very messy, need lots of extra filtration and can live for up to 20 years so they're a big commitment.
A tropical community would be a cool option. This site has a few options:
http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/wiki/Sto ... allon_Tank it's for a smaller tank but that just means you could have a bigger group of something.
As for decorations make sure any holes or gaps are either big enough for your fish to fit through comfortably or blocked off. Fish will squeeze themselves into tiny gaps and get stuck if given the opportunity. Make sure nothing has sharp edges where they could hurt themselves. Most fish like lots of cover and places to hide so throw a few things in there rather than just one or two in a mostly empty tank. It sounds backwards but they'll be braver and come out more with more hiding places.
You could also look into live plants. Some like java fern and java moss are virtually impossible to kill even with no care.
@Shadow~Wolf What size tank are you going to have? It's hard to give suggestions without knowing that first c:
You cannot eat love, nor buy a horse with it, nor warm your halls on a cold night

Hey all me again
After getting my water tested and told it is fine to add fish. I got a little castle for it, and a little Rummynose Tetra who I've named Gilbert. I'm not sure why but when the tank light is on he only stays near the castle I guess because it's the only thing in there, As soon as I turn it off he's swimming around everywhere.

(similar to this but much lighter, not sure how to share private photos)
