"We're getting him back." Tink said, her usual kind voice now firm, almost like a commander. "We're getting Fang back and we're not going to leave you behind."

Optimus shook his head. “I’m asking you to trust my judgement, as your leader and comrade. I can see no other alternative that doesn’t risk more lives than nessecary. I shall go to Megatron accompanied by Mirage. If the Decepticons release Fang, as they promised, Mirage will take him back to base. His cloaking abilities will insure that he is not followed. If they do not keep their word, I will distract them long enough for Mirage to retrieve Fang.”

"I'm coming too, Optimus. Don't try to stop me. We all saw Fang. He needs me. You know that as well as anyone." Tink said.

Optimus nodded. “As you wish.” The leader looked at his fellow Autobots solemnly. “There is another matter to attend to, before we progress any further.”

"Don't say it, Optimus." Spitfire said, looking at him. She had a feeling what he was going to say. "We're not letting Megatron win. Not today."

Optimus offered the femme a gentle smile. “Megatron won’t win, even if my spark is extinguished. The Autobot cause will prevail because of soldiers like you.” The leader looked at Ironhide and Jazz, who had remained in shocked silence. “As my older Autobots know, I carry the Matrix of Leadership within me. It will one day be used to light our darkest hour, and must never fall into Decepticon hands. When I go to Megatron, I will not have it with me, just in case the worst happens. It would be foolish not to plan ahead.” Jazz sighed. “Prime is right. Even if we do formulate a plan, we must get ready for the worst case scenario.”

Spitfire sighed softly. "Alright then, what's the plan to get both you and Fang out of there safely?"

“As of right now, I don’t know. We will be at the Devepticon base, and greatly outnumbered.” Optimus thought. Ironhide had an idea. “Hey, maybe Rusty and Wheeljack have something that could help us out.”

"Please, I've been working on things that will send them passed Cybertron." Rusty said with a mischievous smirk. "Heck, I even updated and improved The Immobilizer."

Jazz looked curiously down at the human. “Really?” Optimus seemed equally as surprised. “Well, we might just have a chance. If we plan ahead, and use the inventions, we might be able to get out of this with no casualties.” The leader said.
