“Because backup just arrived.” Jazz replied. Optimus and Ironhide screeched to a halt, transforming with their guns at the ready. The already injured seeker growled. “You haven’t see the last of us. We are going to keep coming until you hand over the traitor!” He growled before taking off.

Nightshade was glad to see the Cons flee, but her spark sank when she realized that her new friends knew the truth about her. Worse than that was their leader was now here. Would he still accept her into their ranks or exile her?

Jazz sighed with relief, turning his attention to his leader. He was grasping his injuried arm. “Right on time, Prime. A few more minutes and we could’ve been scrap metal.” He said.

Ironhide quickly moved to help his injured comrade. “Really Jazz? This is the third time in three days. Ratchet and Tink are going to blow a fuse.” He teased.

“Are you alright Jazz?” The leader asked, earning a down from Jazz. Optimus then turned his attention to Nightshade. “You must be the femme I’ve heard so much about. My name is Optimus Prime. I’m sorry it took so long to greet you.”

jolt drive put her blaster away and came out of her hiding spot when she saw the cons flee
she walked up to the group, feeling safer and thankful that jazz, nightshade, mirage and herself didn't have to handle the cons by themselves.
"hi optimus, hi ironhide" she greeted.

Mirage uncloaked himself when the cons fled, putting his blaster away
he walked towards the group, joining his cousin.

"I am." Nightshade replied in a small voice. She wasn't intimidated by him, rather ashamed that she would have to admit what she did as a Con again. "I'm Nightshade, former Decepticon and...and creator of the toxins Megatron used on your comrades." She said, looking at the ground. She couldn't bring herself to look at the leader.

Jazz moved forward, throwing his good arm around Nightshade’s shoulders. “I’ll vouch for her, Prime. Whatever she might have done, she’s a different bot now.” He said.

Ironhide nodded with agreement. “You know my thoughts about Decepticons, but I agree with Jazz. She’s not a threat to us.”

The leader was silent for a moment or so, then responded. “Well, if two of my top mechs trust you, I’m sure I can as well. After all, it’s always possible for a bot to have a change of heart.” Optimus replied.

mirage quietly stood behind his cousin
he was about to state his happiness that optimus was allowing nightshade onto the team
but his attention turned to jazz's arm
"i agree. jazz, you're returning to base and fixing that up."

Jazz chuckled, wincing as a sting of pain went through his leaking arm. “Yeah, that’s probably a good idea. Man, Deathclaw can really mess you up.” He said, transforming and driving back towards base. He was glad Prime had decided to let Nightshade stay. “Tink, we got a problem. Energon is pouring out of my arm like a waterfall.”

Ironhide looked over at Mirage and Jolt Drive. “It’s good to see some bots can get through a fight without injuring themselves.” He said.

“The Decepticons are growing in confidence. This many attacks within such a short amount of time hasn’t happened in several solar cycles. I’ll speak with the rest of the Autobots about what should be done back at the base.” Optimus said before transforming and following Jazz.

"i almost got hurt if starscream saw me" she mentioned.
"i'm lucky he was busy from my sound grenade and didn't look in my direction."
she transformed into corvette mode and followed them.
"Jazz, please take it easy"

Mirage| status: alive and well | mood: calming down
"You're talking to someone who can cloak" mirage replied to ironhide before transforming after everyone
driving to base behind them

"WHAT?!" Tink exclaimed though the comm link. "I just finished patching you up! Do I just need to follow you around to make sure you stay in one piece?!"


Nightshade smiled, glad that her new friends were defending her but in the end it mattered what Optimus would say. She blinked in surprise when Optimus agreed to let her stay. "Thank you, Optimus." She said before transforming to follow them home.


"YOU WHAT?!" Megatron roared in anger at Starscream.
