Depending on what year it is. He lost count, obviously, but if it's current year, then 670 years old. But he stopped aging at 43, so he's 43 years old.

Personality:

Cyrus is a pretty straightforward guy, he doesn't approve of jokes and would lash out on you if you make one or just yell at you. He would also yell at you if you don't agree with him on something. Cyrus takes his job as a grim reaper pretty seriously, but he can be a little generous by letting the person who died live once more, or twice more, depending on your relationship with him. But he doesn't take bribes of any kind. However, he does take interest in humans easily. He flirts with any guy he comes across, no matter what species, or if he is seeing someone at the moment. He would flirt with women too, but then that takes the fun out of flirting with the guys.

However, while not flirting like he's supposed to he is instead, cooped up in the room in the manor, either reading or writing in his journal. He is quiet and easily forgotten unless he walks out to get a new stack of books or paper for the typewriter. Or just get some food, unless he wants to stay in his room and have his food delivered to him. It's not like he hates interaction, he has too much work to do. Not really.

He sometimes accidentally brings up the deaths of loved ones to others in normal and civil conversations, to possibly get out of them, but he'll apologize a day later and try to talk to you again. And beware, he rarely speaks in rhymes, and he is also overly sarcastic. Just- beware.

Likes:

Mystery novels, long walk at night in the garden (past curfew, of course), men, men shorter than him, his scythe that is locked up somewhere that a friend of his 'grounded' him from it, nightshade flowers, iris flowers... adenium flowers. He just like flowers, okay? There's nothing wrong with that. He also likes men, if you haven't heard, his two adorable little siblings. He would give anything to see them again.

Dislikes:

Sarcastic and overly bossy people, jokes (okay some, but not about death), people who question him and starts asking him over and over again, cats (some he can tolerate), belladonna flowers, bribes, romance novels, demons, angels, people bringing up the Black Death (he will personally strangle you before having a nervous breakdown), someone questioning him on his medical skills.

Fears:

Being haunted by the people who he accidentally and purposefully killed during the Plague. Losing things that he has gained in his new life.

Secrets:

He actually takes interest in demons and angels, but it's just the fact that he can't stand to be around him. He also wishes to apologize to those who he killed, but oh well. And who says that he has siblings? He was married once.

History:

Being born in 1305 was really not that bad for him until a few years later he was given to an orphanage as his parents couldn't take much more care of him. As years went by, he kept going to a home, but soon to return the orphanage a few weeks later, with the ones who adopted him calling him 'a child of the devil'. Which honestly he wouldn't do anything but stare into his adoptive parent's soul and manipulate them. (The reason why was because everything went wrong when he first arrives at the house). It wasn't actually long until he was adopted into a commoner family, who was used to death in the family. This settled with Cyrus and that's when he decided he wanted to study in the medical field, along with some of his friends from the orphanage. But of course, being a teen during those times, he didn't really give much of a care as he dropped his studies to be with his family, who ended up getting ill and passing. This didn't phase Cyrus all that much, but after his adoptive parent's death, he moved in with his friend and went to school with him and everything. That's where he met Belladonna, a young and wealthy woman. Of course, like most fathers, Bella's father disapproved of him but eventually accepted him when they got married. A few years later, they had two kids, Desmond & Reese. However, when the kids were six, that's when Bella divorced him and took everything but the kids. So Cyrus lived in a small house with two small children, trying to take care of them with little income. No income at all really, so that's when he decided to swindle people who were getting sick from the plague that was sweeping Europe at that time. However, after a year of swindling people with little medical knowledge, he ends up getting caught after one of his other patients had passed in his care. They decided to hang him, but a bit before his execution, he met Death and ended up making a deal with him to get him out of the situation that he was in and have his kids safe in return, he must serve under Death as a Grim Reaper, collecting souls of those who passed. He doesn't know the whereabouts of his two little beans~

He still has his plague doctor mask, that has turned into a masquerade mask and his medical bag from 1348. It's in the top corner of his closet.

History: The youth years are quite fuzzy and uneventful. Viktor grew up mostly alone, guided by other water spirits, but never claimed as a son. He learned his music on his own, naturally, finding a fiddle in a few craggy rocks on a lake bottom. He loved to travel, and did so often through his years, until he Met a young human lady by the name of Victoria. They were together for years, and planned to have a family together. Victoria and the child both died from complications during birth, and Viktor, emotionally shattered, fled the area. The memory of his lost love too much to bear, he began once again playing music maliciously to lure the unknowing to their deaths in the water. Most recently, he left his river to find a new lake and took the fake name "Viktor", after his dead bride.

Hershel is an English gentleman. He is incredibly brave, intelligent and athletic. He is always calm and is polite to everyone he meets. While he is friendly, he can also be very talkative and sassy if you get him started on a topic he likes to talk about the most. Harboring a great love for tea, and an even greater love for puzzles, he is the ideal gentleman. He has strong logical skills, which come into play on a regular basis. He is able to keep his calm, even in the worst situations. However so, he acts completely out of character if those close to him are in danger. He seems to stay cool and calm, as of his usual nature, but sometime he gets angry and fierce, to others disbelief. As well as being brave and heroic, Hershel also has a soft side. Hershel actually owns two cats, a black cat and a long haired brown cat. While hiding most of his talkative emotions in public, he can really let loose at home where he's most comfortable. Hershel likes to stay comfortable in many different suits and hats. He has many, and wears different ones during specific days of the week. Hershel has many hats, all for different occasions. He likes to stay spiffy while also feeling comfortable in his own skin. He has a very modern steampunk vibe around him. Probably because of the amount of brown and white and leather he wears together. That and the English gentleman thing he has going on. He has a thing for locomotives and boats, enjoying watching documentaries about them on TV. He likes to collect small figurines of boats and trains to put on his desk at the University. He likes knowing how they work, how they run. Hershel doesn't like people who get in his way. He has an entire mind full of ideas and dreams. If anyone tries to stop him from putting these ideas and dreams to action he will do everything in his power to get around them. He knows how to fix clocks, and sometimes works on students pocket watches while on lunch. Hershel can also get a little bit of attitude on him if you're not careful, but only for a little bit. He has that English Gentlemen stature he has to live up to.

Hershel Holm was born under the name Theodore Bronev to Leon and Rachel Bronev. He lived happily together with his parents and older brother Hershel for several years. However, when he was still very young, the evil Targent agency came and kidnapped both his parents for their knowledge of the secret civilization, the Azran Civilization. The two boys were left behind as orphans. In search for adoptive parents, they eventually found a suitable couple: Roland and Lucille Holm. Unfortunately, they wished to only adopt one child, and decided this would be Hershel. However, they did not know which child was the one named Hershel, so in order for his younger brother to be happy, Hershel gave Theodore his name and let him be adopted in his place. From then on, Theodore would be known as Hershel Holm. Together with his new parents, Holm moved to the quiet town of Stansbury, where he lived during most of his childhood. He went to Kingsbrook Academy and made some new friends: Randall Ascot and Angela. Randall in particular was a great influence on Holm, and made him interested in archaeology. One day, Randall asked Holm to accompany him to go investigate the Akbadain ruins that were found nearby. While hesitant at first, Holm accepted and they snuck out without their parents knowing. They managed to reach the final chamber of the ruins, but Holm accidentally activated a trap and caused the floor to collapse. Despite Holm's best efforts, Randall fell down in the seemingly endless pit and was assumed to be dead. Holm was so shocked by the accident that he decided to leave Stansbury. Holm went to Gressenheller University and was taught by Dr. Andrew Schrader, who inspired him to be the perfect gentleman. After becoming a full on professor at the University, he decided to travel the world to educate himself on the history of the world. He wanted to travel to see the world as well. He stayed at a hostel located inside of a castle in Scotland. One night he found a key by his bed on the ground. Being the puzzle loving man he was, he just had to solve the mystery as to where the key went to. He spent hours, days even going around the entire castle and figuring out clues and secrets. He found hidden rooms and new pathways to different levels of the castle. In one room he found a little box with a note on it from whomever had left it there. Inside was an empty journal and an eyepiece. Hershel uses the journal to jot down notes and ideas he thinks would help him later with puzzles. Hershel also found out the eyepiece has a lense that allows him to see between elements. Between earth and wind, he can see things hidden to the naked eye. Only with the power of the Ṉ̴͔́̓́̆̊̇u̵̳͔̼͋͌͗͜͝l̸̝͎̘͔̠̾̐͌̈͐͝ḽ̷̌̎ element (Æther element) can he see these markings. Though these markings are usually placed for a reason, the Ṉ̴͔́̓́̆̊̇u̵̳͔̼͋͌͗͜͝l̸̝͎̘͔̠̾̐͌̈͐͝ḽ̷̌̎ can make the wearer go slowly insane if worn for long amounts of time. Seeing things that aren't actually there. Thinking they see markings. Sometimes the markings you see are the markings left by someone who made them while insane. Though Hershel, as smart as he was, wears it only for the amount of time he needs. He only gets minor headaches after wearing the eyepiece. Unfortunately the eyepiece does affect his dreams, and forces him into nightmares about walking through rooms. Walking through rooms in the Scottish castle and never being able to leave. Just rooms after rooms. It freaks him out and sometimes he can get a bit paranoid

Rachel lived with her husband Leon Bronev and her two sons Hershel and Theodore Bronev. She, and Leon were kidnapped by Targent due to his discovery of the Azran Civilization. She eventually died due to an unknown illness (perhaps acquired due to the abduction) after these events. Rachel is also Hershel and Theodore Bronev's biological mother, who later became Jean Descole and Hershel Holm. Lucille Holm is Professor Hershel Holm's adoptive mother. Lucille is a kind and caring person. She worries greatly about her husband and son, often sending one off to find the other. Its because of her that Holm is the polite gentleman he is today. Roland Holm is Professor Holm's adoptive father. Being intuitive, Roland is a quiet and calm man. He is very wise, and knows a fair bit about archaeology. Holm's father nurtures a warm, thick beard that befits his generous hospitality. This quiet, discerning gentleman secretly pines for adventure and even solved a couple of cases of his own back in the day. Jean Descole (Hershel Bronev) is Hershel's brother. The young Descole eventually started to focus on studying the Azran Civilization tirelessly in the hopes of beating the Targent in finding their secrets, so he could have his revenge on the two reasons why he lost his family: Targent and the Azran. A while later, another family was found to adopt Descole, and they adopted the remaining child, giving him the name Jean Descole. Jean spent most of his life under this name, and eventually got married and had a daughter, having a normal life with them. Jean probably met also around this time his butler Raymond, who would be faithful with him during his entire life. However, when he thought he was happy and could move on from his past and live for more than just revenge, both his wife and daughter died due to unknown reasons, possibly due to Targent.

I have awoken from the nightmare, but am forever haunted by it. I submerge myself in my work, as if to drown the memories but it is no use, the N̴̛̮̤̰̞̼̗̪̰͓͈͍͔͇̗̺̾̇̍̃̊́͜͠u̴̞̯̱̦̦̐̃̈́́̽̃̾̌̊̚̕͝l̶̢̢̦̙͕̱͚͇̘̩͉̹̹͇͚͙͎͉̱̋͆̌͑̈͑̌̍̇̕͝͝ͅl̶̢̡̛̳̱̯̱̬̬̙͓̳̯͖̠̖̊̀̔̽̈́̈́͆͐̊͂̈́̋͛̀͋͊̓̈́͐͂̕ calls to me in my sleep, and seizes any unoccupied moment to fill my thoughts unbidden.

Hershel owns many hats and many types of suits for any time of the day. His closet is very neatly organized by shoes, suits, and pants. Also hats. He has a lot of hats. He likes to feel comfortable in his own skin, and will wear whatever he deems fit for the situation. While also being comfortable, Hershel sleeps in a Kigurumi. A dinosaur one to be precise. He has only a few Kigus, and wishes to have more. His cats enjoy sleeping on him as he drinks tea and reads the newspaper. Hershel also has glasses but rarely uses them, for they're reading glasses and he sometimes needs them for smaller print on newspaper or University notes.
