i had to call the vet on Saturday.
Ruby has this weird bump on her head and it scared me.
Turns out she fractured her sinus plates because of hitting her head against something.
Stupid little mare scared the bejeezuz out of me.

personality & history

A mare happy to know her place, Sifa is most content when she is surrounded by her herd. Rich social dynamics affirm that all is as it should be: there will be disagreements and scuffles, but she knows these will always be balanced by the goodness in those around her, and the goodness of the king watching over them. Eager to please and to maintain her own social bonds, Sifa is willing to work to make sure all the good things stay. Always on the lookout for danger or confrontation, she does her best to make sure there will be no lasting damage. It's silly to think life's sorrows can be avoided, she knows, but there is no reason it can't be fixed. Just about anything can be fixed.

Born and raised in the Jotunheim region, Sifa takes solace in the protection and relative peace it offers. She loves nature: happy as she is with the familiar, she would never say no to adventure, because there is so much to see: the forests, the trees, so many horses, and things she knows she probably can't even imagine. As friendly and helpful as she tries to be, she is also shy. Deeply affectionate and liable to firmly attach to those she loves, she is also quick to step aside. She has not yet had a foal of her own, and secretly worries: will she be a good mother? Such thoughts weigh on her when she sees foals, but all the same, she adores them and does dream of the day when it will be her turn. Until then, she sees peace as life's greatest gift, and is grateful when everyone seems to have it.

personality & history

Rooke has become familiar with nearly every region in Valhalla, wandering as she has from place to place over the last couple of years. She has made the unfortunate discovery that it is possible to live alone, and while her instinct and physical senses try to tell her that she is unnaturally lonely, and she needs the company of other horses, her dusky intellect tells her otherwise.

Born to a roving earl and a mother who did her best to protect the filly with words, Rooke learned quickly that little, if anything, can be promised. Food in the winter? Hopefully, but not necessarily enough for all, though her mother prayed. Shelter from predators? Her mother prayed it would be enough. Kindness and honesty? Her mother was kind and honest, and she lived to serve the gods, but she did not survive Rooke's second winter. A short time spent with a small, ramshackle herd quickly left Rooke in foal herself. Unprepared and suspicious, and at a loss as to who was supposed to be guiding her life, she still fell in love with the foal when it came.

She was with it only briefly: its strange markings attracted the attention of the herd's self-styled "seer," and the foal was claimed for sacrifice. Rooke was not permitted anywhere near the little colt, and so while she did not see what happened, she knows. Needless to say, she left and has been on her own ever since. Understandably suspicious, and jaded by her mother's experience with religion, Rooke has little interest in prolonged contact with another herd. Reluctant to relive the same pain brought to her by her first foal, the thought of a stallion makes her more than uneasy. All the same, she knows luck will not be on her side forever. And as much as she resists it, she is quite lonely.

Oof I love the pictures you chose <3 Do you think you could add a little more information though? Maybe add a history section or elaborate more on personality? This is a more semi-lit rp, after all.

We are a bit quiet right now though, but I'm definitely still here! Probably going to respond next week though, still waiting to see if Ches or Evi will pop up before I reply, maybe even some others haha

oh absolutely! I tend to get *way* too excited, so I mainly wanted to make sure everything was acceptable before I threw myself into the characters, haha xP and thank you!

Do you just want to nudge me when you think I should make a first post for these two? Definitely want everyone to have a chance to do all the responding they need and not feel rushed ^-^

Haha, yeah, I get what you mean. Ches is the one that accepts forms, but I don't see anything that would make her say no so you're probably good haha. No problem!

Well I play the Jotunheim king and a newly ousted past lead mare of Alfheim, so I think you could start with Sifa whenever you want, really, because me and eventer can respond as we both have jotunheim people.

For Rooke... Eventer's current other loner mare Artemis looks pretty bored so Rooke could potentially interact with her. But all the herds are in the same place at the moment, so if you'd like to speak to my newly ousted Alfheim mare, or one of eventer's other characters I think that could work.
