butterflykit awoke to the sound of voices. she lifted her head and let out a yawn, blinking before seeing her mother speaking to oceankit and glimmerpaw. “morning” she mewed, standing up and stretching.

Honeystorm was annoyed with Skyheart but the sight of the molly just lying there looking miserable was more than she could bear. She padded over to Skyheart and sat down. She began to speak, then stopped. Then started again. "Are you alright?" she asked gently. She tensed, however, ready to bolt if Skyheart had another tantrum. A grown molly with two kits, no matter their status, should be above such things.

Skyheart looked at Honeystorm. "Do I look okay to you?" She asked, in a calm voice, partially sarcastic and partially just plain upset. "Riverclan hates me because I'm annoying.... I think if I just stay quiet and lonely, I won't cause any problems. Yeah....." Skyheart had a frown on her face. "I don't deserve friends, Starclan already decided that. Starclan took away my kits, my will to live, and my mate. Now I have nothing left but loyalty to Riverclan...." Skyheart's paws were shaking, as if she was thinking of doing something.

Honeystorm snorted. "Stop being so full of yourself," she said without animus. "Riverclan simply thinks that you shouldn't overreact to everything. Yes, the exile of Budgiepaw and the death of..." She had to take a breath before speaking again. "Amberpaw was my apprentice, you know," she said softly, tail twitching rapidly as she unwillingly recalled the way the young molly had looked, lying there in the water like that.

"It's been hard on the whole clan. I don't know if you've seen how Mistfeather's trying so hard not to show Oceankit her fear, how upset Sparrowdusk is with himself for not knowing how best to help you, how Sunsoar just wants to help." She looked around the quiet clan. "No one knows what to do with you, Skyheart, because you refuse to open up. You refuse to let anyone in. To listen to anyone." A harsh laugh emerged from Honeystorm's throat. "It would be an admirable trait in any time but now. Now, we have to band together and try to heal." As she spoke, a feeling of dread came over her that she didn't let spill out onto her features. No, the worst wasn't over yet. After all, they didn't know for sure who it was.

Oceankit looked at Quailtail who greeted her daughter and then him. "I'm okay, how are you?" He asked back knowing it was the polite thing to do. Then his mother walked over to them placing a brief lick on his head and telling him he'd be a great apprentice. He purred "you really think so?" His eyes shining as he looked at his mother. Another flash of fur caught the corner of his eye, it was Butterflykit he smiled and greeted her back. Sweeping his tail around his paws he beamed. For the first time in a bit he felt truly happy.

Skyheart looked up at Honeystorm again. "I do listen, but I don't want to forgive Sparrowdusk. He made my heart break and now its impossible to fix. Adderfur probably doesn't even like me as his kin. I need to fix my relationships, but they won't forgive me Honeystorm. I just do what I think is right, but no one else respects it. I don't want to throw a tantrum like a kit, I just want to tell them my point of view. I've never been the social butterfly, I was always the lonely mouse." Skyheart sat up and looked at Honeystorm. "I think I must...." Skyheart was thinking of leaving.
