Iris just shrugged. "Heard from dash yet?"

Dalton gently stroked her cheek with his thumb, wishing he was getting a better reaction from her. "No. I haven't. Maybe he's....." He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, unable to finish. He softly kissed her cheek. "Everyone is telling me I should be move on."

Iris smirked and looked over at him. "Please, dont be ridiculous. That kid is unkillable. He has probably been lounging about on whatever star he took sanctuary on. He will be back and causing trouble for you any day now." She looked back at the ceiling. "Anyone who was with him have probably veen safe and happy these last four years. I.... Im sorry i kept you here."

Dalton moved closer, letting their clothes brush. He needed a distraction from the pain in his chest, but Iris didn't seem as willing as Azuna had been. Not as easy to convince. He closed his eyes, resting his cheek against her shoulder. "You did what you did. I stopped hating you years ago for it. I know you still regret throwing Caia out."

Iris looked back at him smirking at his affection. She sat up and ruffled his hair. "If you are looking to sleep with someone there are plenty of people who would be dieing to be with you. Im just not one of them, dalton "

Dalton sighed, the pain in his heart feeling worse. He needed to forget about Dash for a bit. He needed a distraction. He stayed lying on Iris' bed, disappointed.

Iris looked at him sadly. "Azuna is always willing. I just.... I cant dalton. Im sorry." She got up and began to clean up the room slightly. "At this point i wouldnt be surprised if piper was even interested. You two have been inseparable."

Dalton signed, sitting up. "Azuna's in jail," he reminded her. "And Piper has a little girl to take care of. She doesn't need me adding to the confusion." He got up off the bed, crossing the room to her. "You should eat something," he said softly, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "You need to take care of yourself." He shoved his hands into his pockets and went to the door.

-a few weeks later-

Magnus grunted as he moved the final rock from the vault door. Sweat ran down his slightly sin burned body from working for so long in tge blazing sun but he felt relief that at last he was done. He looked down at the dented door, unsure of what to do. Part of him wanted to leave them in there, having enjoyed the peace he had found getting to be a farmer like he always wanted. He wasnt even sure he knew how to return to his old life. He stomped down three times on the door to send tge noise through tge vault before walking off to hide among the rubble, not wanting to be found.

Dash finished the ship and steped back to admire his work proudly. It wasnt long though before dread and fear crept back into him. What if Dalton really had moved on or was disgusted with what dash had become? What if they blew up on the way down or died trying to locate the others. He looked down at the dented engagement ribg he had found and was wearing again nervously. He had to at least do this for Mikah and caius. He glanced at his reflection in a sheet of metal and groaned. Mikah was probably going to make him finally get cleaned up.

Piper sat in the dinning hall helping clara eat as the hall buzzed with the soubd of people talking and eating. She glanced across tge table at dalton. Sge knew he had been sleeping around and azuna had once again bern cheating on her boyfriend with him but she had a hard time getting anything more tgan dissapointed with him. At least he had finally started to grieve. She looked up as they heard three loud bangs echoed through the vault. She saw Azuna reflexively reach next to her and grab ahold of dalton's hand as everyone fell into complete silence, trying to understand what the noise was.

Dalton didn't look up as Piper looked over at him. He froze when he heard the loud bangs, gripping Azuna's hand as she took it. He slowly stood up, reassuringly giving her hand a quick kiss. He pulled out his gun and went to the door. He hesitantly tried to open it, and to his surprise, it opened. Dalton let out a whoop, pulling the door open all the way. Light spilled into the bunker, and he stepped out of the darkness. He took a deep breath of the fresh air, relaxing. It was so nice out there. He had missed being outside so much. But how had the cave cleared itself up? "Hello? Is anyone there?" he asked, keeping his gun out.

Mikah poked his head into the room. "Nice job!" he asked, admiring in his work. "We should get ready and pack," he suggested, but him and Caius had already packed and were ready to go. He really just meant that Dash should consider getting cleaned up.
