Raoul shook snow off his pelt, mumbling something under his breath. He wished winter was
gone already. The male looked at the sky, hoping to see the sun and feel it warm his body,
but the clouds effectively hid it from view. The wolf stretched his legs and sat down, making
a decision to relax for just a while before he starts his day. It's been a rough time for the
hunters and the pack, prey being scarce because of seasonal migrations. He knew they were
lacking food, but most of hunting parties ended up unsuccessful. The male has always
dreamt of becoming a leader of the hunters in the pack that meant everything to him, but
he was never fully aware of this rank's responsibilities. He felt guilty every time he had to
report to the alpha that they did not catch anything. He felt like it was his fault, like he
could've tried harder or searched longer. There were times this winter when they brought
back only two hares and somehow the pack had to share the little pieces of meal.
The brute shook his head with a sigh and got up. He then followed the scent of Senka. He
wanted to discuss some things with her before heading to the alpha. Raoul stopped, noticing
that her body was lowered to the ground and hidden in bushes. He kept his distance and
watched her with his ears perked. He didn't want to ruin her hunt and it wouldn't hurt to
wait for her to finish.

Nita rolled on her other side lazily, her eyes shut. She didn't bother to get up too early this
morning. What was the point anyways? The female was an omega, so she had no duties at all.
The female inhaled the cold air through her nose and slowly opened her grayish eyes, staring
at the trees before her. He's dreamt of being free and independent since she was a pup. But
when she finally decided to leave the pack, she found out how harsh life could be there. She
left in autumn and it wasn't this bad in the beginning. She knew how to hunt, so she ate small
prey like squirrels, rabbits or birds. But as winter approached and there wasn't as much food,
Nita was hungry most of the time. Cold and the lack of safe and warm place where she could
spend nights made her realize how hard is a loner's life.
Because of all the reasons, she made the hard decision to return to her pack. She was lucky
they let her join, even though positioned her as an omega in hierarchy. Nita didn't feel good
as a loner, and also as an omega. But one thing she knew for sure - as a loner , she wouldn't
have survived to spring.

Senka | Female | Rank: Hunter | Tags: RaoulThe rabbit's ears perked up listening for any sound of movement that would say it was in danger, but Senka held still. Watching intently, she had to make sure she brought this rabbit home. She had too. Just as the rabbit lowered its body to look for more roots to eat she pounced. Her large paws pushed the rabbit down, allowing her to easily make the finishing bite. She sighed happily at herself for catching the rabbit, picked it up and stopped. Her ears twitched listening. She felt like she was being watched and as she turned around she knew why. She walked up to Raoul slowly and laid the rabbit down gently as if it was the most precious thing in life.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXEkaitz | Male | Rank: Scout | Tags: FoalanThe bright, pelted male continued his walk, checking the marks of the border and looking for anything unusual. Soon Ekaitz stopped. He looked at the creek, that he somehow managed to make his way towards. He could have sworn he was still at the border, how did he get to the creek? He rolled his eyes and decided to leave it as he was just daydreaming and seemed to just follow where his paws were leading him. As he looked over the creek he found Foalan. He trotted to him, watching as he caught the fish. Something must be up. "Hey, are you doing okay?" He asked the male quietly.

Raoul waited patiently, standing still not to scare the hare. When she got close enough to lunge
at the prey and the hare still had no idea of her presence, he knew she'd catch it. And he was
right. The male's tail swinged softly from side to side when the female approached him with
the hare "Nice catch," he spoke, bowing his head "I wanted to talk to you about the next
hunting party," said Raoul, getting straight to the point. "It's been a long time since the pack
ate something big. But I'm worried we'd have to travel far from the territory to find such prey,"
he continued, telling her his worries. He wanted to know her opinion instead of making a
decision on his own. And also success of their next hunt was important. On the other hand, he
didn't know if the alpha will let them go too far. Of course, they could stick to hunting small
prey, but it probably won't be enough.

Timber was awake the moment before dawn as usual. He stretched out the stiffness in joints and shook the stray bits of dew that had gathered on his pelt off. He yawned one last time then stepped outside to see the pack was waking up as well. Although he wasn't alpha yet, he clearly earned his beta position and no had dared challenge him yet. He said hello to a few of his pack mates as he passed them and soon stopped beside Jax when he heard him growl. "Hello Jax. Bad morning?" He asked in a friendly tone to the omega. Knowing Jax didn't like wolves in higher authority all that much, Timber made sure to keep a passive appearance. Although he Jax could be a total jerk at times, he also this wolf would make valuable ally should time come when Timber needed some.

With a quick yawn and stretch Valor was up and ready to get moving as always. She liked to view everything with optimistic approach but the weather was making it a bit hard. She felt to sudden urge to run and get some adrenaline pumping though her veins when she saw Aidan. She walked over to him with a brisk pace and soon caught up. "Good morning Aidan." She said to the slightly larger wolf. "I am about to do some scouting, care to join me?" She offered as she walked alongside him. She couldn't but notice his warm knowing eye and inwardly kicked herself. She knew he probably had no interest in her whatsoever and her cooing over him wouldn't help a thing.

- She tried to hide her frown of disappointment in knowing she wasn’t going to get anywhere with Tempest. She nodded at the alpha’s idea. “Definitely, these days everything has been quite dreary. I’m starting to get tired of waking up with soggy fur every morning” she chuckled. She titled her head, “Are you going to join them? It’s been a while since you’ve had a break yourself, Tempest” she was careful not to let her eyes drift towards the fenale’s foot. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Mhairi. Orabelle nodded to her and waved her tail in invitation. “Good morning!” She called, turning her attention away from Tempest for a split second to acknowledge Mhairi.

- Jax blinked as the beta approached him. Fighting his urge to roll his eyes at Timber’s question. “Could be better.” He grumbled, flicking his tail. He made sure not to complain too much- he wasn’t a whiny little pup, and in the presence of the beta he wasn’t going to damage his chances of moving up eventually. As much as he hated watching his tone, he wasn’t going to get anywhere as an omega. He’d have to suck up as much as he himself could tolerate. Timber’s cheery attitude got on his nerves, but he’d never treated Jax with any distaste or arrogance, something the headstrong male could appreciate. Not that he’d ever admit it though. Jax’s mood was apparent as he exited the den, his shoulders hunched and his ears lowered. His amber eyes fixated on Timber. “I see the weather hasn’t gotten you down much” he commented, his voice naturally low and gruff.

Tempest let out a small sigh at the idea of hunting, she used to enjoy it so much, but with the leadership of the pack she had let that part of her slide. "No, I do not think I will be joining them. Foalan turned at the sound of one of his own scouts, turning his head as he looked to see who it was. Ekaitz. He placed the fish between them and wiped his snout with his paw in order to keep the blood from making him sneeze. "Yes, of course. Just saw a lone fish up stream this far, which means that the water must be freezing. When spring arrives, the water level will rise again which could create a flood." Although the pack had been in the area for over a year, they faced little difficulties in the past. The previous winter had been warm, and since they had only just arrived, they knew little better of what to expect. This year had been especially harsh n the small pack, with more difficulties arising.}

Senka | Female | Rank: Hunter | Tags: RaoulShe bowed her head towards him as well to show her appreciation, "Thank you." She listened closely to what the male in front of her had to say and once she was asked a question she immediately began to think. "Well, I do believe that the larger prey would be further out from the territory. I also feel that with the small amount of prey we have been able to catch wouldn't be enough for the pack. I fear that winter could be harsher this year." She continued to think over all the pros and cons of this hunting party and soon decided. "I feel that we should at least try to capture something larger. Even though we may have to journey a bit outside the territory, I feel it may be worth it. The small amount of prey is thin as it is and if we continue like this we may begin to starve. We share the rations we have and soon we will have to share more and more." She lowered her head to pick up the rabbit, "But Alph's word is code. We should ask Tempest before we think of anything more."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXEkaitz | Male | Rank: Scout | Tags: FoalanEkaitz nodded as he looked down at the fish Foalan had caught. "Should we prepare just in case?" He looked back up at the male and then towards the creek. He knew that very few fish would be able to swim this far and he began to imagine what the flood would do. What he would do to protect his pack from this disaster. He shook his head of the disaster that may or may not come and looked back down at the fish. "So, I guess the pack will have more food today?" Ekaitz asked, also beginning to wonder if any of the hunters had caught anything today.

Foalan let out a small chuckle. The pack had began to get worried about the weather, and often the sense of dread seemed imminent. He knew many wolves were wondering what they could do in the upcoming weeks, but truthfully there was nothing they could. Could they tell the goddess of snow to find another forest? Could they give birth to rabbits and elk for them to hunt? Foalan wasn't the optimist in the pack, and over the year since the pack's creation he had only gotten more and more depleted of will. The brute shook out his fur and wiped his paws against the small rock pebbles of the bank before speaking. "There is little we can do to prepare. At this time of winter there are few threats of intruders, so if you would like to i will grant you permission to go hunting later when my sister gives word." }

- The light furred female nodded at Tempest’s explanation, not pushing the alpha any further. It wasn’t Orabelle ‘s place to provoke or interrogate the very wolf who kept her pack together, though she was worried about Tempest. There was no doubt winter was going to get worse in the coming months, and she knew the effect the weather could have on koints. Orabelle didn’t mention the fact that the beta and delta would be in camp to watch over things if she were to leave. Still, Orabelle felt a sense of doubt, believing she wasn’t doing her duty by offering to help- she wasn’t even sure if she could help. When had the Alpha injured her leg? She hadn’t noticed anything unusual before lately, leading Orabelle to suspect a sprain or tear. Which in other circumstances would need to be monitored closely. Tempest should not be up and walking about, as it’s very possible the condition could worsen. Orabelle’s mind whirled with a million different worries, and it took everything in her to focus on Mhairi and Tempest, knowing she’d have plenty of time to fret later, on her own.

Timber chuckled at Jax's sarcastic comment and said nothing else relative to the topic until the older spoke again. "Well as Beta i can't risk be grumpy just yet. I'm still proving myself and I'm sure the last thing this pack wants us a grumpy leader." He sighed softly when he was done speaking. "Must be one good thing about being an omega. You can be as irritable as you want, it's not Tempest will exile you for being snappy." Timber pointed out as he looked around the camp at the surrounding pack members with a small sense of pride, if everything turned out right, these would be his wolves, his pack, but for now he listened to Tempest and he liked and respected her enough to not challenge her.
