Fayrin stared down at her new partner that she had just
received from her professor. A small little Litten who stared up
at her with a curious look to his large yellow eyes. "I suppose
we're partners now..." She murmured and kneeled down. Fayrin
gently reached out to pet the top of his head. He purred. "Right
then... Shall we go?" Fayrin smiled slightly before leading the
Pokemon to the grass just nearby.

As you make your way into the tall grass, you spot a pidgey. It's playing around with some sort of stone. As it hops around, you catch a good glimpse of the stone:

Fayrin's eyes were caught after an all too familiar Pokemon
appeared before her and Rei. As she looked closer, she noticed that
it had some sort of shimmering stone in it's possession. Upon
further investigation, she realized that it was a mega stone. "Rei,
let's catch that one..." Fayrin whispered quietly. Rei glanced up
toward her and meowed silently. Slowly she and Rei
approached the Kanto Bird Pokemon. "Here bud... You want something
to eat...?" She whispered.

The pidgey turns around, and tilts its head. It holds the stone protectively, puffing out its feathers and cooing loudly. It seems to want to fight, not eat. It probably doesn't want to put the stone down...

Her gaze was still set on the Pidgey. "I suppose eating isn't in your
interests at the moment... Alright. Let's battle then. Rei, you're
up!" Fayrin called to her newest companion. Rei mewed and jumped
out in front of Fayrin. "Quickly, use Scratch on Pidgey!" Fay called.

The pidgey let out a loud, indignant, squawk and kicked dust at Fayrin.

Fayrin shielded here eyes from the dust that was flying at her.
She coughed and almost sneezed. Gross... Fayrin disliked dirt being
thrown at her. Rei hissed at the Pidgey, and used Ember without
his trainer's command. The small ball of fire blasted at the Pidgey.
"Be careful Rei! We don't want him getting away." Fayrin wiped her
face and pulled out a Pokeball. "Let's capture him." She said, carefully
chucking the ball toward the Pidgey.

The ball landed against the pidgey with a resounding thud. The pidgey was sucked into the ball, and it landed on the ground, shaking with a slow, continuous pace.
One..two..three!

Pidgey was caught!

Fayrin watched as the ball swiveled around in circles. She was
determined to capture her first Pokemon... After the Pokeball
clicked, a grin appeared on her lips. Now she wasn't the most
cheerful person. In fact, she was gloomy and dark most of the
time. Fayrin sighed contently and kneeled down to pick up the ball.
She glanced at Rei. "We did it bud. Let's keep going. Once we find a
Pokecenter we'll greet our new friend." Fayrin said. Litten meowed
and jumped up onto Fay's shoulder. They continued to walk throughout
the grassy area.
