prompt: It's not a very action packed story, but it is one that she loves to tell. The scar has never really bothered her. Maybe because she links it to the fun time she had before she had to face adulthood, or she just doesn't care as much about outer beauty. Raeya Sunshine and her friends were celebrating their coming of age together. They sung and danced, told stories around the fire, and just had a good time. They were play fighting when everyone decided to tackle Raeya. This sent them all tumbling, which caused Raeya's face to be scratched by corner of the coffee table. She also suspects that one of her friends might have accidentally scratched her, and that's why there's a smaller scratch and a bigger one, but she doesn't really care.

The story of her name: In the village where Raeya lives, first names are traditionally picked by the parents of a Pillowtail kit, but when the kit gets older they can change/add more to their name at the coming of age ceremony. Raeya was named by her mother, Myrtle. Myrtle's only living family was her daughter, because her mate died before Raeya was born. Myrtle jokingly called her her "ray of sunshine," or Raeya Sunshine. Raeya's positive and radiant attitude only bolstered this. Her friends caught onto the nickname as well. By the time the coming of age ceremony happened, Raeya was so used to being called that already, so it wasn't a hard decision to officially add Sunshine to her name.

Personality: Raeya is a positive, silly, and airy Pillowtail. She's honestly a bit ignorant at times, caring more about her opinion than facts. She changes her mind easily, often to benefit her own moods, causing her to be somewhat irresponsible.

prompt: It wasn't her fault that she liked fire. It kept her warm and smiling over the winter, and lit her campfire over the fall. The fire had helped make food over the long summer break, and halfway burn off her sister's essay papers over the spring break, although causing a hissy fit from her sister. But that wasn't the reason for her scar. No. It was the cinders that the fire left poisoning her.
She had just had a bad day. Her mom seemed so busy that she never talked,, her father had to move away due to a job offer, and her sister had just left again to party. Cal felt like the only sane person in her family. And that was saying a lot because she wasn't called normal a lot due to her ecstatic personality. Starting up the fire over the long winter break, Cal had sat down and cried. She hadn't cried in a while. If felt good. But at the same time, she didn't like crying. She had been called weak for crying. Maybe if she didn't have eyes, she wouldn't cry. She didn't want to cry. No crying. If her sister came in, what would she say? Yell? Mock her for her babyness? No. She didn't want that. not again.
Only now noticing that the fire had burned out, she picked up 3 of the cinders that were still burning hot. Taking a deep breath, she had tried to plunge them into her eye, unsuccessfully, leaving a large gash of burning fur and blood, on her eye. Yelping in pain, she got the ice pack and held it over her eye, while all the same scolding herself. She had made a stupid decision, and knowing that her sister and parents would not approve and probably kill her (not literally,) she had decided to hide her gash under her hair. She didn't want anybody to see her scars.
And so she put on a mask of happiness, and so even though the scar was physical, she was equally emotionally scarred. Even now, only her sister knew. But Cal has gone off better. She had now embraced it, returning more of... herself. She still hid the scar under her hair, but she had put it as part of her, not separate.
