Sammy never really liked Halloween, or even fall for that matter. It made him think too much about people in his life who have sadly passed on. It's said that he even removed his own thumbs while trying to cope with the grief after the loss of his brother. He did, however, change his name legally to Sammy, in honor of his wiccan mother who has also passed in autumn, before her favorite holiday of Samhain.

The moon on his chest was always seen as a symbol, especially to his mother. Sammy had always been told that he was blessed by the night. He hardly believed it, nobody would, logically. However, He did sometimes play along with the idea to make his mother happy. And it worked, his mother was extremely happy, and rarely was seen with anything other than a smile. The only time that Sammy saw his mother upset was when she was on her deathbed, sorrowfully apologizing to Sammy that she had to go so soon. Sammy always forgave her, and he sometimes tries to communicate with her using a ouija board so that she can know for sure that Sammy forgives her.

He turned to vampirism as a form of escape after the death of his brother, who had always wanted to grow up to be a vampire. Sammy was always considered as the werewolf child, but that never stopped him from taking up a life of modernized vampires. He would never bring himself to hurt anyone, though, so some thought that he never was really into it. Sometimes, he cries when he thinks about it, knowing that he'll never be able to live the life his family always wanted to live.

Sammy lives in a large house that's described as "haunted", although it is anything but. The lack of work on the house, and the peeling paint are just parts that were unfortunately caused by Sammy's inability to do anything productive with the house without being assaulted with positive memories of his family, and the unfortunate truth that life will never be like that again.
