Prince of the Damned|LeMarc|Head Butler|Half-Demon|Tagged: Ariane

The half demon grits his teeth, already feeling hellfire start to stir in his veins as he listens to every word the young miss speaks. This was not the time or place to spontaneously combust, and with his current irritation it was a true risk. With some quite impressive self control, he eases his foot off the gas and lets the car slow. "I do not think you understand how self-destruction is conducted." He says in a surprisingly even tone. "Yes, child, you are allowed to hurt yourself and test your own mortality as you please. Your life is, and always will be, ultimately in your own hands. However, this does not, under any circumstances, mean your actions do not have consequences. Just because you can hurt yourself does not mean you only hurt yourself." He keeps his eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, and body focused on leveling his breathing. Best not to get too angry, especially when his emotions were so closely tied to his demonic tendencies. He likes this car.

"I am not your guardian. I do not want to be, and would consider such a chore to be beneath me. I am effected by your stupidity, though. I had to take time out of my extremely busy schedule to venture out into a town I despise just because you decided to test your own body and failed. Had you not called your uncle and asked for assistance, had you dealt with the problem yourself, or even not made the issue in the first place I would have no reason possibly care about your little dalliance into town. But," He slows the car to a stop at the side of the road, "If you are so sure in your maturity, in your 'ability to take care of yourself', by all means get out of the car and walk yourself back." The door facing the woods springs open on its own, a rare show of LeMarc's supposedly weak, and limited telekinesis. "We are still a good while away from the manor. I am sure an hour of walking will not do you too much harm, child." He adds finally, sardonic and rich in malice.

Resident Scholar|Franz Joseph|Attic Hermit|Vampire|Tagged: Arthritis

"It is not uncommon for winter to be disliked." Dr. Francis Joseph states, keeping his eyes locked with the large man, even as he continues to scratch notes on the pad of paper in his lap. "It is a natural time of death." Personally, he had always enjoyed winter. Pleasant holidays with his family, long nights and grey skies. The cold stopped hurting years ago, almost a century since he felt it. His opinion was not often shared. "I once met a child who was born on the coldest of winter nights. So cold that his heart froze right where it was, in his chest. The doctors were able to save him, but...The mind does not recover the same way a wound does." He could still remember the fear in that child's eyes. "It's fascinating to see when someone faces what they believe to be death. It is a moment of pure clarity into their heart."

He can almost hear the wind.

"I'm certain there is more to your fear than the barrenness winter creates. Everything has a root cause, which from itself ignites a reaction that falls until the end goal is complete. Your reluctance to share more intimate details of your emotions makes this more difficult. There is so much at stake." His pen stops writing, dangling in his hand in a loose grip. "So much." Franz Joseph's eyes glaze over. The pen drops with a clatter.

"Charles?" He murmurs. The moment is gone.

Lady of the Lake|Eadgyd|Edith|Homeless|Kelpie|Tagged: Wendy

The menacing light fades from the kelpie's gaze as her prey announces surrender. Eadgyd tempers her smile to a grin at most, and steps back. "Lovely to meet you. Wendy. Spike." She nods once to each of her new 'friends', "See you around." She winks, her very obvious threat lingering. She'd be watching.

The local corner witch turns, her shawls and scarves swaying in a wind that seems to be picking up, a strong and humid wind that foreshadows the possibility of rain later. A prelude, coming before the gray clouds in the distance. It is not a misty day, but as the young woman climbs back over the wall of the local graveyard, a heavy fog seems to roll in from the south, closing in as she steps among the gravestones until it envelopes her completely. The last trace of Eadgyd is a glint of two green eyes, and then she is gone.

Franz Joseph becomes a backpack

"I'm not sure if the death scares me. Just the quiet. But they are of the same ilk, and I ought to do my duty in fearing them both." He chuckled softly, in spite of the increasingly vivid image taking over his brain. He was starting to think he should cut that out. But there was comfort in the cold, even if it was only a cloudy autumn afternoon. Distracted from the brainstuff, he sat with eyes and mind alight at the story. Artaxerxes had always come where death swept, it seemed. It was rare to see someone return from the very edge of it. "That must have been a fascinating sort to talk to. There is some meager comfort in the finality of it, though. To at least know there is a direction to go, even if it is to the end. I don't believe in it myself, but It's a nice sentiment to pretend with." There was something careful to his tone, slow and meticulous, as if he were working through a song. Artaxerxes had found a way to take a quiet December night and turn it into music, and he was tapping along with his foot and hand in the background. It seemed as if he wasn't paying attention to his motions at all.

"O' doctor, I don't think I'll be able to do that, really and truly. I do hope I've been light on asking my questions, but you really ought to tell me the significance of these questions, at least before I am dead...ah." His voice quieted as he watched what he could only describe as Franz fizzling out. With the abrupt end to such a sharp and pointed demeanor, he began to believe that Franz was on the verge of death or experiencing other serious health complications. Artaxerxes hoped that he would not be dealing with a corpse. He was sure he was safe here, sure, but it would take some convincing to get himself out of yet another convoluted false murder plot. "Say, friend, I think we can pick up our discussion in wherever you conduct your business usually. Your fellow Charles hadn't but shown me around. I will carry you if you point me in the right direction, we can continue on foot and you will not dare die." With that, he stands up, having not yet broken eye contact, and gestures for Franz.

Xzavier hummed a tune as he lead the two horses out. He was glad that they were more well behaved than some of the others. He let them loose in the field and watched as they moseyed away to graze on the grass. The nephilim then repeated the process twice more before he began to work on cleaning the stalls. Once he had finished with the task he doubled checked to be sure that everything was done properly. He made sure that the stalls had fresh water and would be ready for their residents. "I'm done over here!" He called to Akta, turning towards her as he did so. "I'll start getting Mona ready," he continued, walking towards his horses stall. The horse snuffed tossed her head as her owner came over.

Valac glowered at the wolf. He let out a high pitched yelp as he was nipped at and grumbled under his breath as he sat back up. "Rude wolf," he all but pouted. He brushed the dust from his shoulder and from his face where Everest's paw had been. With a sneeze and a rub to his nose, he was ready.

"The Cresentmoon Manor is a place where mythical people work and live in peace," He said, running his fingers through his curls and crossing his ankles. "No humans know of it and all mythical people are welcome. I would even consider living in the place if I wasn't so..." He hummed, trying to think of the proper word. "Detached." He settled, although that was a vague way to explain himself.

"But yes, the last living being from the Lysandre family lives there," The fallen angel said, nonchalantly. "Facilier Ross Lysandre," He continued, tapping his chin. "And a child. A boy named Mary Jane Rosalind," He added the last part and let out a yawn. "I'm tired now," Yes, he was a mythical creature but his energy and health were still equivalent to a childs, much to his despair.

Faciler looked over towards the side, knowing that he didn't take the precautions that were necessary to see if the person was human or not. But how could a creature of that height could possibly be human? Not to mention the bird that he had. He drew in a breath, but soon exhaled, knowing that there was no possible way to lie about this. "Well...No, I haven't really...thought about it- but...he seemed...friendly. If not, then apologetic for bothering the tranquillity of the manor...But he's tall enough to not be deemed as a human? Merely a possible giant." he bit his lip and glanced at Larkin. He wasn't used to this, no. Can't he just get fired? Nobody would miss him... But then there was Mary, what would he do if they left the manor?... He just couldn't go back... His thoughts wandered for a bit before snapping back to reality as Larkin mentioned the fact about leaving the stranger alone in the interview room. Faciler had to think about this for a bit as he was familiar with the family... but adding to the fact that he could only remember so little names at a time- like he-who-shall-remain-nameless. He thought for a bit before looking away, bringing a palm to his face, "Damn," he muttered to himself, pausing for a second before putting his arm down to his side. He looked at Lark, "I indeed left him alone- I wasn't really thinking about the others that much... I-I... I thought it would be a good idea at the time as I do not have another one of me to just tag team around the manor.". He stood there, trying to appear nonchalant. But how could he when he was trying not to lose his head and lose his job? Clearly, it was just a mistake as he didn't usually answer the door. Faciler turned his head and sighed deeply, This day is clearly the work of Satan....

Mary followed after him, happy that he had some help. But his head turned up when Arc started to speak again, this time in a language that he didn't understand at all, but when the man had shown him where the fruits and flowers were, he understood and followed him over towards one of the stands. Mary went ahead and grabbed a small container of strawberries once Arc had pointed them out, soon to grab a bag of cherries, placing them on the container. It was starting to get a bit heavy, as he was still small and frail, only able to carry one thing at a time, but he didn't want to make it appear that way, so he pretended like he could handle it without any help. The ten-year-old slowly walked over towards the apples when Arc had pointed it out, along with the bucket of flowers. He could look at those later, right now he needed to get a few apples so he could return home, but it wouldn't hurt if he stayed in town for a bit. His dad wouldn't really be upset if he was gone just a tad bit longer...Right? Mary mentally shrugged before placing the strawberries and cherries on the ground, soon to turn around and head over to the small plastic bags to carry the apples in. What? He wasn't going to carry two apples in his hold while carrying something that was heavy to him. He grabbed one of the bags before walking over back towards the apples, grabbing a couple, placing them in the green bag. Yes, he has done this a couple of times before, but not enough times to fully open the bag before putting stuff in there. How was he supposed to know? He had the brain of a lost child. Mary tied the bag before placing it in the open bag of cherries. He then turned to Arc who asked him about the flower, which seemed only moments ago as he was pacing back and forth for the bag and the apples, which he was completely oblivious about until now. His attention turned over towards the bucket of flowers, still silent as he tried to find the red flowers that matched the ones that his father put on his desk every year. Mary stood there, an odd sound coming from him as he slowly turned over towards Arc, "Mm, da flower is for dad, but I don't see it anywhere in the...pile...He puts it on da desk sowmetimes...It's a rwed flower, but I do not know what it is called." . He continued to stare at the flowers before returning to Arc.

"How am I rude? You were the one who came here unannounced, a letter would've been fine." she sneered, her tail wagging. Why was it wagging? Why was it there in the first place? Everest shook her head before turning her attention back towards the fire, growing distant from the world around her, but soon to came back once Valac started to talk about this 'Cresentmoon Manor'. It seemed like a fairytale to her, really, but the tiny voice inside of her chose to believe it. But she had her doubts that no humans knew about the place. "Then if no human knew about the place, then there have to be rumors being spread around about a place harboring the mythical. Not to mention how someone by the likes of you know about this so-called 'Cresentmoon Manor'." she muttered, wanting to add more as he continued to speak, about he himself was considering living in a place like that. But of course, he had to make an excuse. Everest shook her head once more, "And if you were considering to stay there, then why don't you? You wouldn't have to worry about people finding out who you are...Doesn't mean that I'm not going to give that old lady a heart attack- I'm still thinking about it actually...". She had noticed that she was rambling, but she silenced herself, looking up at the ceiling, and then back towards the fire, her mind slowly planning out the woman's murder.

After a few minutes of just sitting there, her ears pinned back once she heard that name. Not this 'Mary' kid as she didn't know who he is, and it didn't matter since she had no relation to him. Besides, who would name a little boy 'Mary'? Someone who was probably expecting a girl, perhaps? But it was just that name that got to her, a tidal wave of mixed emotions slamming into her. A low growl escaped from her, and she just shook her head of the third, and final time. "No, it cannot be. Fal has been gone for...years. There is no possible way that he is still alive at a damned manor made to shelter the mythical. and pardon for my French here, I just don't believe that a damned vampire, who left me in this hell, just to rot, could be wandering around, living a peaceful life," Everest curled up into a small ball and thought for a moment, her thoughts scattered. Maybe she should go to the clothes shop now? Slowly, the she-wolf raised to her feet once again before slowly making her way towards the doorway, but she stopped and looked over her shoulder, "Are you going to help me with this old woman or no?". And without a response, Everest went ahead, fading into a shadow-like devil that stuck onto the wall. What? She just needed a little practice until she actually left the manor. Sighing, she went ahead towards the window.

Valac smirked, "Well I certainly couldn't have sent meat in a letter," He said, feeling awfully snarky. Everest brought out the best of his attitude and he certainly didn't mind their back and forth banter. He took note of the wagging of her tail and suppressed the urge to giggle. He snapped his attention away from the swaying of Everests tail as she presented him with another question.

"The head of the household is a human and thats why the rumors are regarded as just that. Rumors." He said shrugging. He hated Everests tricky way of bring the subject back around to him. Talking about himself was his least favorite thing to do. "I have an informant who lives in the household. I also have unlimited access to factual information," Vague as ever. "And I wouldn't ever move to such a place due to my hatred of other beings," This was partially true. Valac was a very antisocial and bitter boy and he really did hate being around other people. Though, he would never allow anyone to know that he's mostly just scared.

The fallen angel felt a wave of pity for the wolf but he quickly shook it off, knowing she would want none of it. "Well, I only ever speak the truth. Choose to believe what you'd like," He said, standing up and stretching. "If you'd like, we can go kill him next," He suggested, giving a quick scratch to Everests head against his better judgement. "But that can wait. Lets go kill that old hag, Ev," He said, smiling. His happiness was hard to earn but the promise of a kill had his adrenaline running.

Following Everest, the boy jumped off of the windowsill and landed on his feet. "This is gonna be so fun!" He squealed, running a bit further and laughing playfully. "C'mon! Lets go, lets go, lets go!!" he encouraged the wolf, blue fire burning behind his eyes.

Listening and staying to the wall, Everest continued to think about Fal, and then back to Valac, "You could've sent it in a package then."

Everest walked away from the wall, soon to come back to as her former self, which wasn't all that fun as she was starting to ache. Its been a while since she hasn't really done any shifting into walls lately. She then looked up at Val and scoffed, "So you have this unknown outside source that has been probably telling you lies? There is no way that Facilier is alive. Let me get that into your small and puny brain once more. Plus if you hate other beings, does that mean you hate me too? Wow...I never thought that you would hate me, of all...animals.". A smile played on her face as her tail started to wag once again. Everest yawned, not really feeling up to the challenge of climbing out of the window. She was used to it, but there was something called 'age'. But honestly, why would she care? Everest jerked her head away once Valac gave her a scratch behind the ear. She paused and shook her whole body, just to get rid of the feeling of being touched. "Do that again and I'll feed you to the raccoons." she hissed, acting like a human for a small moment. However, seeing that Valac was happy and ready to kill the hag made her sourness fade. She ran after the fallen angel, soon to clamber onto the windowsill, with slight struggles, but she ended up making it outside. Once she was outside, Everest dropped down on the ground and rolled on her back, "Welp Ghost Rider, I'm ready whenever you are. Just...close the window.".

She rolled over to her stomach before lifting herself up from the ground, heading towards the front of the manor house, making sure that she was going at snail speed.

Xzavier mumbled quietly to Mona as he brushed her with a rubber curry comb. He switched to a normal brush, making sure her shed fur was brushed away to reveal her beautiful grey coat. He sang very quietly as he began to brush her mane, tail, and pick her hooves. After he finished his thorough cleaning, he stepped back to take another look and make sure he had done a proper job. He always had to make sure the feathering around her hooves was cleaned well, otherwise they would get matted with mud and he'd have to cut the soft fur off. After making sure he was satisfied, he gave her a pat and disappeared into the tack room. Returning with a black and silver western saddle, matching reins, and a black saddle blanket that was lined with white wool, he began the saddling process. The nephlim let out a huff as he rested his hands on his hips, admiring his work.

"Oh, the things I do for you, Momo..." He muttered, smiling at the horse. He grabbed her reins and lead her out of the barn and to the mounting block just outside. He tightened up the saddle one last time before mounting up and letting out a sigh of relief. He always felt serene once in the saddle. With a cluck and a small press to her side, Mona was off. Xzavier gave another cluck and pushed his heel into her side, making her speed up into a trot. He took her around the manor, once, twice, and three times before slowing down back to a walk and giving her a big pat. "What a good girl!" He exclaimed, smiling as the horse let out a loud huff. Xzavier let out a little laugh and pushed her on, heading towards the forest. "Enough warming up, onto the main event, yeah?" He asked, giving Mona another pat on the neck.

Valac couldn't help the smile on his lips at Everest's sourness. "My source isn't from the outside," he said, ruffling his hair before continuing, "And I would never EVER give false information," He added, his brow furrowing and his mouth turning down at the corners. He was never anything but honest and he couldn't stand the fact that Everest was questioning him. Of course, he was suspicious but he would never dream of being dishonest. He was cast from heaven for his greed, not issues with telling the truth. After all, that is his one and only job. "And of course I don't hate you... completely..." He added the last part and shot Everest a cheeky grin. Laughing as the wolf jerked away from his touch and moved away to avoid the possibility of being bit.

"You'd never feed me to the raccoons, you'd just eat me yourself," He said matter-of-factly, grinning at the wolf. Once Everest was out of the window, Valac reached up and pushed the window closed with a little bit of a struggle. He quickly caught up to Everest and got fed up with her pace even faster. "You know, I could see if I could get the front door open so you don't have to crawl out of the window anymore," He said, speeding up a bit to turn around and look back at the she-wolf. "And hurry up! At this pace, by the time we get there, the old hag will have already died of old age," He teased.

Kimura wandered from shelf to shelf, dusting and shelving books. Her illusionary magic hid her and from a distance nothing was visible. However, if one walked closer, they would see slight ripples of movement and feel an ominous presence. Her ears were perked and her mind alert, for though today had been a light day of work, she expected any moment someone would call her name and task her with some assignment. For now, she simply bided time with simple tasks, and the library was the perfect location for just that. It was quiet, dark, and filled with knowledge, it felt like home, and she tried to make sure it looked as elegant as possible.

Prince of the Damned|LeMarc|Head Butler|Half-Demon|Tagged: Angel Boi (mentioned: charlie, mikayla)

The 1957 chevy pulls up the long driveway of Cresentmoon Manor, taking a slow turn into the garage. LeMarc steps out of the vehicle, brushes imaginary dust off of his suit, and sighs. This was adding up to be a long day, and it was still only morning. If inconveniences started to add up, he'd never get everything done in time for supper.

LeMarc pulls the car's cover back over it, to keep the vintage vehicle safe, and pockets the keys. He walks briskly out of the garage, closing the door behind him. The garage was purposefully located next to the stables, which in general was a place he tended to avoid. LeMarc does not like most animals, and they don't tend to like him in turn. Something about their primal instincts tells them that the man is a predator, and should be avoided at all cost. Normally, stepping into the stables caused a panic to the horses, which was unproductive. It was better to just leave it up to the stable hands. At the least one of them was competent, not that LeMarc could remember their name... So he shouldn't enter the stable. He doesn't plan to, or want to, for that matter. But then he feels it; a heat not unlike hellfire runs through his veins, but he knows this is not his fire. Something else, something bright, blinding, pure. Dangerous.

As if driven by some distant, carnal force, LeMarc is suddenly strutting into the stable, slamming the doors open and ignoring as the horse promptly panic. He doesn't even notice the other stable hands, too focused on looking for the angel. Yet, he cannot find the shining source. They've already left, which means he too leaves the sable, following the invisible trail that leads him around the building and, eventually, into the forest, pulling him like a string. He now moves at an unnatural speed, too quick to see up until the moment he stops at the forest's entrance, just a few paces behind a figure on a horse. He does not know how he knows, but he knows; this is the angel.

"What do you think you are doing?" LeMarc calls to the angel, using the voice he typically uses to intimidate the staff. It's not the growl that he wants to release from his throat, no he is too in control for that, but the idle timbre of a man who knows he can be a threat if he wants. He crosses his arms, staring daggers at the figure on the horse.

"Hm?" The old vampire cocks his head to the side, staring at the large stranger. "Oh yes. Of course. The lab assistants must be running late. Or ahead of us. Perhaps we should reconvene in the testing space." He stands, stiff and almost robotic in motion.
"Come come" Franz calls, stepping towards the doorway. Every movement becomes more fluid, as if his body is slowly returning to itself. "We will take the conventional pathway." Franz declares. Unfortunately for his test subject, they would not be traveling by way of secret passage.

Lady of the Lake|Eadgyd|Edith|Homeless|Kelpie|Tagged: Open

Eadgyd slinks through town, knowing that her time on the corner for the day has been taken. She has lost her clientele for now, lost the ones who seek information on the streets. They cannot ask her to find their missing children, to track down their enemies, to find a man who will kill for coin, or to tell them any of the other mundane, human secrets she keeps. The Corner Witch, they had always called her that. She is not a witch, not really, but the name is fitting.

Still, that time is up for today. She could not linger when she had made such a dramatic exit from her new 'friends', so she turns to the forest and dashes among the trees, keeping out of sight until her bare feet sink into mud, and the mud turns to muck, and the to cool water. She sheds the shawls and scarves, stores her human clothing in a hollow willow tree before she dives into the lake.

The water is freezing to most, but to her it is welcome. She spins and turns under the lake's green waves, shifting into a form more true, less human. Eadgyd hums a tune. Sound does not travel through water like it does through air, but this song does not follow physics. It resonates out of the lake, twisting across the water, bouncing onto the grass and trees. Her song is quiet, but it runs bone deep. A calling, though her prey does not know this. A question.

Xzavier pulled harshly on Mona's reins as he felt an unexplained wave of nausea wash over him. "Whoa," He choked out, bringing the horse to a full stop. He gripped onto the saddle horn and tried to think about what could be causing this. Why was he sweating and why did his throat feel like it was closing up? His questions were quickly answered as he heard an intimidating voice behind him. He hesitantly turned around to face the demon and gulped nervously. Sliding off of Mona's back and taking her reins in one hand, he looked at LeMarc.

"I'm done with my work, sir," He said, leaning against Mona's shoulder to try to steady himself. He still wasn't quite sure why he felt so ill in the other mans presence. "O-Or... Did I miss something?" He tilted his head a little. His complexion had paled a bit and he continued to feel his nausea intensify. Resting his head against his horse, he closed his eyes and furrowed his brow. "I-I um... M'not feeling well, sir," He mumbled, Mona being the only thing really holding him up at this point.

Looking up at LeMarc to say something more, his ears began to ring and his vision got fuzzy. He coughed and let go of Mona's reins, falling to his knees in a fit. Mona had been anxious around the demon and now without anything holding her back, she quickly fled into the forest. Xzavier was sober enough to realize what was happening and felt his heart nearly beat out of his chest. "NO!" He screamed, trying to reach out to the horse but she was long gone. "Mona!!" He cried out futilely.

Valac couldn't help the smile on his lips at Everest's sourness. "My source isn't from the outside," he said, ruffling his hair before continuing, "And I would never EVER give false information," He added, his brow furrowing and his mouth turning down at the corners. He was never anything but honest and he couldn't stand the fact th'at Everest was questioning him.
