Socially, Salak can seem like two completely different dogs, depending on the circumstances. When she is placed in a large group, and especially a group of strangers, she becomes shy and modest, with little to say and even less interest in being the center of attention. Sometimes, Salak can get so nervous that she becomes clumsy, tripping over herself, stuttering, or being unable to speak altogether.
However, in smaller groups of dogs that she knows a little better, her true colors begin to shine. Salak is a courageous, adventurous dog who loves to explore and learn new things about the world. She is always ready to take on a "quest", no matter how daunting or mundane it might be. Salak also becomes much more talkative around dogs she trusts, and even enjoys participating in some playful banter or flirting. She is open to the idea of being someone's mate, but that someone would need to respect that Salak is asexual and does not want to have any biological pups of her own. Instead, a simple adventure buddy and cuddle companion is much more suited to this French Bulldog.

Salak's first memories are of life with her human. She was purchased as a puppy to be her human's companion, and was chosen due to her breed's lovable appearance and personality, though it quickly became apparent that this love was one-sided. Salak's human was not prepared for the responsibility of raising a puppy and she ended up neglected as a result. Young Salak was never trained, rarely played with, and even more rarely taken outside aside from being let out into the front yard for a few minutes to relieve herself. Understandably, Salak grew to resent her situation. She stayed there for over a year and a half before she finally had a chance to make a choice.
Salak's human returned from work early one day, and was obviously not feeling very well. In their haste to get inside and rest, they failed to latch the front gate properly. Salak discovered the loose gate a few minutes later when she was allowed outside for a bathroom break, and left. It was easy to paw the loose gate open, and after that, Salak was free to do as she pleased. She has only been on the streets for a short time, and has mixed feelings about it. While the freedom to just be a dog has been wonderful, life without a human was more difficult than she anticipated. Fortunately, she tends to do well by begging strangers for scraps, but it is only a matter of time before she begs from the wrong human.

Lili is very much a pup in both mind and body. She has a lot of growing to do before she can be considered to pull her own weight in the pack. Responsibility is not her strongest point. Lili fails to take rules very seriously and is more likely to do as she pleases, especially if she thinks she will not be caught. She is playful and full of youthful energy that she is always ready to use in good fun, as long as she does not get too dirty. Lili is very much a little lady, acting like a princess and expecting to be treated as such by everyone else. She loves being pampered and looking her best. A bad fur day is a disaster for Lili, and she would not be caught dead doing any physical labor, though it is fair to point out that her small size makes her a very poor candidate for any task involving muscle. While Lili likes to put on airs of being carefree, she does not actually handle pressure very well. She is easily intimidated and not a fan of taking risks. Lili thinks such things are best left to the big, strong dogs to handle. A lady like herself should be protected, not protecting.

Perhaps Lili's irritatingly stubborn opinions on the values of ladylike behavior come from some internal insecurities. This would not be surprising, considering the difficulties Lili has encountered in her short life. She was meant to be a present for a six-year-old boy on his birthday, and for a few days, it all went well. He was enamored with his adorable new puppy, but being so young, the boy was ill-equipped to adequately care for her. Soon, his birthday video games became the more appealing gift, leaving his frustrated parents wondering what to do about the puppy their son was uninterested in caring for. Had these parents been patient enough to guide their son in caring for his dog, or responsible enough to realize that he would need some help, things much have turned out differently. Instead, while the boy was at school, one of the parents drove Lili out far away from the house and left her at the side of the road. Surely, someone would come across the cute little pup and take her in. Fortunately for Lili, someone did, but that someone was not human.
She was adopted into a pack of strays who took pity on the helpless little one. Upon realizing that she would never be big or strong enough to hunt, she was recently made an herbalist apprentice. For all of prim pettiness, Lili did seem to show an intuitive knack for healing, even if her behavior shows a complete lack of interest in doing anything to contribute. Lili wants to feel special and wanted, like she can be loved unconditionally without having to do anything to earn it. She wants to believe that she is good enough to be loved all on her own, because if she needs to do something to be valuable, then that might mean that she did something wrong to be abandoned. Unable to face the possibility that it might have been her fault that she was left alone on the streets, Lili now hides behind her ladylike facade, much to the disappointment of Nikan. It seems Lili is nearly constantly in trouble for slacking off, and she resents Nikan's attempts to discipline her. She much prefers Delta, whose capable, protective nature is just what she wants in a companion. Lili considers him a sort of adopted older brother, and she hopes to add a big sister to the mix as well. She has seen a new stray hanging around on occasion, and this stray is obviously very much a companion breed like herself. Lili wants this French Bulldog to join the pack so that she is no longer alone as the only small dog.
