No, it just stands for Soft Reset. It's a quicker way of resetting the game that takes you straight to the Pokemon game screen instead of having to turn on/off your gameboy. ^-^

...how exactly do you work it?
I was trying to SR for a female Archen, but I couldn't figure out how, so I just had to turn the DS on and off~

You have to press certain buttons at the same time..
I think for a DS its Start+select+A+B??

This is what I found when I looked it up (I can never remember since it's different).

For getting the SR Shiny Pokemon you want on D/P, Press L, R, Select, and Start at the same time. For the SR Shiny pokemon in R/S/E/LG/FR, press A,B,Select, and Start at the same time.

Note for anyone planning to SR or shiny pokemon on Hoenn games:

Due to the Random Number Generator being broken in every Emerald game, getting a Shiny in that game is close to impossible.

If you are trying Ruby/Sapphire then as long as your game doesn't start with "The internal battery has run dry." then you can Shiny hunt on those. If it does start with that, then that means the Random Number Generator is broken in that game too.

Ahh. THAT'S what that means. It said that on my Sapphire, but the only con that I saw about it was the fact that I couldn't do the Shoal Cave event. :c
