this is the place for discussion and character forms, no forms should be posted on the main roleplay t
hread. all characters need a form, including dragons and fire lizards, but only the riders will need de
tailed forms. dragon and fire lizard forms only need the basics [name, age, color, rider/bonded perso
n, and a short personality]. forms should be neat and organized so i don't have to waste time and ask
about it. signatures must be removed when posting forms and when posting on the main roleplay thr
ead, they are allowed only when posting for discussions. all the information about the roleplay is pro
vided below so please read through it before asking any questions as the answer will probably be alr
eady written. reading the book series isn't required, but it is highly encouraged [it's worth it]. if you
have, please still skim over the info below since i have made some changes to what is cannon in the
books. if you have any questions that aren't answered in the info down below, feel free to ask me.back to the main thread

xx.GLOSSARY
└─────────────┘
- between; the void that dragons and lizards jump to in order to teleport. it's characterized by extreme cold (far below zero yet not as cold as outer space) and induces near-total sensory deprivation in humans who travel through it on dragonback. there appears to be no breathable air between, and riders who make exceptionally long journeys suffer the effects of oxygen deprivation. usually, for a dragon to teleport using its rider's directions, they stay between for the time that it takes to cough three times. fire lizards take eight seconds to teleport anywhere on the planet. between frequently causes cystitis and child-bearing problems in female dragonriders. going between without proper coordinates is a frequent cause of death for inexperienced weyrlings and is the place dragons jump to when committing suicide after their rider's death.
- burdenbeasts; they are donkeys or llamas used as pack carriers during travels.
- conclave, the; a group made up of all the lord and lady holders for each of the major holds on pern. the conclave meets at the end of the year to discuss events of the past year and to decide on ideas and events that could/will happen in the coming year. a lord or lady holder can be impeached via the conclave's unanimous decision should it be found that they are neglecting or abusing their position as lord/lady holder.
- crafts; there are several different crafts that can be studied and used and they are; harper, smith, healer, miner, weaver, farmer, fisher, tanner, baker, vintner, and herder. each craft can be learned to whatever level someone wants and several crafts can be learned at one time, though only a person can only master one craft at a time. the crafts all use the same hierarchy. everyone in each craft begins as an apprentice, usually from age twelve to eighteen, then becomes a journeyman (eighteen to thirty) and with a great deal of hard work and dedication, attainment to the status of master (thirty+) is possible. not everyone makes it to master, and some leave before even the rank of journeyman is reached. such a step from apprentice to journeyman is called 'walking the tables', based on the custom that apprentices and journeymen eat at different tables at a craft hall. the craft rank and hold they are beholden to are indicated by complicated colored knots which are worn on the shoulder.
- craft halls; the home of the crafters and craftmasters. the major craft halls are located near the weyrs while smaller branches of the halls are located near major holds. each craft hall specializes in a certain craft [see crafts] and the minor craft halls are used like schools where people can go to study a craft, but to become a master of a craft people have to go to the main craft hall for that craft and be tested by the hall's masters.
- craftmaster; someone who has mastered a craft, they are normally elderly folk who have spent their life studying and learning all they can about their craft.
- draybeasts; they are the donkeys, oxen, and draft horse creatures used for plowing or pulling carts.
- fall; the event of threadfall which happens roughly once a day in one place and lasts for maybe a week at most. each fall only happens once a month during a pass. thread normally doesn't fall in the same place twice, every month it falls on a different place which is troublesome for the dragonriders who can't predict where thread may fall next.
- fellis juice; a sleeping drug used to put someone unconscious. it's made from the fellis plant which smells strong and pleasant, the juice made from it is also rather sweet but has a bitter aftertaste.
- fire lizard; small dragon-like creatures who can all breathe fire with the help of firestones. the lizards were actually the ones who where used to create the dragons when the humans first settled on pern.
- firestone; a phosphorus-bearing rock found on pern. dragons and fire lizards are able to produce spontaneously flammable phosphine gas from firestone, and burn thread out of the air by emitting the gas.
- gather; a large party of sorts that normally takes place in the spring or autumn in celebration of new life and the harvest, but there are also some that are held when a weyr's senior queen's eggs hatch. gathers can last either a whole day or a whole weekend depending on weather and the event that is being celebrated, for example a gather celebrating a wedding will last a day while hatching gathers tend to last for several days.
- hatching grounds; a place where any pregnant dragons lay their eggs. the sands are heated by the planet's molten lava core which in turn heats and hardens the dragons' eggs. there is a large viewing area for both dragons and the people of the weyr to watch as the eggs hatch and the impressions take place.
- herdbeast; four-legged animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, etc that are kept for food or the use of items such as leather.
- hold; a town-like place that houses over a thousand people. there is a center building that houses the lord holder and his family with other smaller buildings dotted around to house servants and other holdfolk who live in the hold. each hold must send tithe to their weyr each harvest or else suffer through threadfall without the help of the dragonriders. cotholds and minor holds both send tithe to their major hold who in turn sends tithe to the weyr.
- hold-born; those born in a hold and not in a weyr.
- impression; a sacred time during a hatching where the boys and girls who had been searched are sent to claim their dragons after they hatch. once a dragon hatches, it looks for the person who's mind matches their own and once they find them, a soul-deep bond is formed that is unbreakable even by death. a bond between dragon and rider lasts a lifetime and if one dies the other will commit suicide to follow them into the grave. dragons will immediately jump between to follow their rider in death, but queens with eggs will stick around only long enough for the eggs to start hatching before jumping between to follow their rider. only in extremely rare cases does a rider live after loosing their dragon, only a small handful of riders over the centuries have ever been able to do so. it is also impossible for a rider to re-impress a dragon, once a bond is broken another can't be formed in its place. dragonless riders can still impress fire lizards though which seems to aid in the depression that consumes them after their dragon's death.
- interval; a time without the threat of thread. intervals normally last about 200 years, but some have been known to last more than 500 years.
- klah; a drink similar to coffee that tastes of chocolate and cinnamon, it's typically used as a breakfast drink as well as for comfort and to stay awake.
- lord/lady holder; the ruler over a hold, they rea responsible for everyone in their hold and is also responsible for the tithe to the weyr that protects the hold. It is within their power to evict and exile anyone they sees fit if they has a good reason such as lack of respect or unpaid tithe. all lord and lady holders are apart of the conclave [see conclave].
- lower caverns; an extensive series of caverns within a weyr with easy entrance by foot. they contain common use areas such as lounging and recreation areas for riders, kitchens and dining areas, bathing pools, storage areas for supplies, living quarters for support staff, children (weyrbrats), crafters and more. they also contain special quarters for riders who are involved in mating flights, as their private weyrs are often inaccessible from the ground.
- mark or credit; the currency of pern, normally made of wood with a mark of whichever hold had created it. some hold marks are more valuable than others. marks are higher currency while credits are more like singles or coins.
- milchbeasts; the same as herdbeasts, but are kept for milking purposes instead of meat.
- numbweed; a plant used to create a cream for numbing minor wounds and dulling larger ones. it takes three days to boil the plant into the cream and it stinks rather badly.
- pass; a time at which thread rains down upon pern. passes normally last about 50 years.
- redwort; a plant boiled into an red oil that acts as a disinfectant. it is commonly used as a hand wash to create an oily barrier over the skin to allow a healer to use numbweed without being affected. the oil tends to stain skin red and must be scrubbed many times to get the stain out.
- runnerbeast; a horse-like animal that is raced like thoroughbreds during gathers and are normally just a means of transportation for other people. they are bred and raised similar to that of a thoroughbred due to the racing being the main sport on pern.
- search; a search is when telepathically sensitive blue and green dragons are sent around to every hold in a weyr's domain after a weyr's queen has clutched to gain candidates to impress the hatchlings. the dragons will seek out, or search, for children between the ages of 12 to 18 years who are mentally sensitive and will be able to bond easier with a dragon hatchling. a weyrbrat can become a candidate once they become 12 years of age.
- shipfish; another name for the dolphins that follow ships, they are highly intelligent and have been genetically modified with the ability to talk though only some of them have the ability. they are summoned by the sound of bells and are used to find the best fishing spots and how the currents are running. they can also use their echolocation to determine pregnancy and other internal abnormalities such as internal bleeding or broken bones.
- shoulder knots; intricately woven and knoted strands of thin cord worn on the shoulder of crafters and dragonriders to indicate rank within either a crafthold or weyr setting. colors are used in the knots to determine which hold a crafter is from and which weyr a rider is from as well as what color dragon they ride. the more complex the knots, the higher the person's rank.
- thread; a thin silver filaments of a space-borne mycorrhizoid spore that devours all organic matter that it touches. pern periodically experiences threadfalls, in which this deadly organism rains down from the sky in patches instead of true rain. can be killed by fire and water, also can't eat through stone or metal and turns to dust in the cold.
- tithe; a payment of food, wine, herdbeasts, and other things for their protection against thread. minor holds pay tithe to their major holds and the major holds pay tithe to their weyr for protection against thread.
- tunnelsnakes; a pesky snake with six-legs, two of which are for digging, and long fangs that burrow in caves and cause problems in food storage areas. can be eaten but are mostly pests.
- turn; a year on pern.
- watch-wher; a relative of the dragons, but are actually rather ugly and have clipped wings. they are used like guard dogs or watch dogs and are also nocturnal.
- weyr; [pronounced like "we're"] a place for a collection of dragons, their riders and support staff to reside which is usually built into the cliff faces of ancient volcanic calderas. many of the living spaces are in natural cave systems within the cliff walls, but in early passes when the colonists still had technology, plasma cutters were used to create extended systems and additional caves to meet the needs of the growing numbers of dragons.
- weyrbrats; the children who are born in the weyr are called (affectionately) weyrbrats. weyrbrats may be the children of dragonriders, lower cavern staff or crafters. it is the tradition in the weyr that children are not raised by their natural parents, as dragonrider parents do not have time to raise a child while caring for a dragon. this community model also serves to reduce parental favoritism as well as prevent children from developing a hatred of dragons due to them 'stealing away' their parents. children are fostered as soon as they are weaned from their mother's milk, and initially sent to the weyr's creche. once the child has grown to show distinct personality and talents, they are matched with a fosterer (foster parent) who suits the child's temperament. every weyrbrat has the right to become a candidate and stand for impression at age 12.
- weyrling: a young dragon and their rider who are too young to join a fighting wing. once the dragon turns 2 and the rider is 16, both may join a fighting wing against the thread.
- weyrmate: the relationship between a dragonrider and either another rider, a crafter, or a lower caverns worker. normally is the equivalent to a long-term "boyfriend" or "girlfriend", but in rare cases, weyrmating is as deep and permanent as a marriage. the term indicates that the pair usually share living quarters, for the time being. such relationships can be severed at any time by either partner for any reason.
- wherries; a winged four-legged bird-like creature that can only fly short distances. they are omnivorous and are eaten by people and dragons alike. they're like a giant 4-legged turkey that eats small mammals and has a seriously short temper.
- wing; a cluster of up to 30 dragons.

xx.RANKINGS
└─────────────┘
- weyrwoman; the domestic head of the weyr and the rider of the senior ranking gold (“queen”). if the weyrwoman dies, or if her dragon ceases to mate due to old age or serious injury, the rider of the next gold to rise to mate will take the position. though she and her gold are called "senior pair" they are senior in rank, not necessarily in age or in experience. the weyrwoman is in charge of all matters that pertain to housing, food, the raising of children living in the weyr, training, organization and discipline of the support staff of the weyr, as well as the day-to-day living requirements of the dragons and their riders. she is also a diplomatic ambassador, responsible for relations to other weyrs, holds and the craft halls. most of her duties are administrative, delegating responsibilities to her headwoman or junior goldriders.
- weyrleader; the military side of the weyr is headed by the weyrleader. weyrleadership is determined by the mating flights of the senior queen so the rider of whichever bronze catches her becomes the weyrleader. the weyrleader is in charge of making sure that the fighting wings are up to strength and well-trained. he also determines the strategy for thread-fighting. the turnover of weyrleadership varies greatly, some last for decades while others are changed out in a matter of months.
- headwoman; the weyrwoman's primary assistant. the headwoman is responsible for implementing the weyrwoman's orders regarding management of the lower caverns, where the bulk of the support staff live and work. she is in charge of the cook staff, the cleaning staff, maintenance staff and the fostering staff. she wields a great deal of power inside of the weyr even though she is dragonless. [might get a dragon, pm about it]
- junior goldriders; they are also assistants to the weyrwoman. all dragons will obey the orders of a queen, unless they contradict the orders of the senior gold. because of this, all goldriders must act as leaders. the junior goldriders are typically assigned to record keeping, lower level diplomatic duties, training gold weyrling pairs, and fostering teenage girls who are likely to rise to a leadership position within the weyr. this provides them with important experience for future leadership positions, as each junior pair has the chance to become weyrwoman on very short notice.
- wingleader; wingleaders each lead a wing of 12-33 dragons and are often bronzeriders, but can be of any color should they prove themselves greatly enough. each wingleader has two or three wingseconds who may be of any color, though are often brown or bronze riders in training to be wingleaders. the wingleaders are technically equal in rank, but some have more power within a weyr than others based on their relationship with the weyrleader. they are responsible for ensuring that his wing is capable of safely fighting thread. they also appoint wingseconds and recruits newly graduated weyrlings.
- wingsecond; ideally a wing has two or three wingseconds, which are also typically bronze or brown dragons, but can be blue or green should they prove themselves. they fill the wingleader’s position in the case of an emergency and help to convey the wingleader’s orders to the rest of the wingriders.
- weyrling master; one of the most important ranks in the weyr, below the weyrleaders and wingleaders, is that of the weyrling master. he is in charge of the training and discipline of the young dragonpairs known as weyrlings. while under his care, weyrlings learn everything from basic dragon husbandry to advanced thread-fighting techniques. the weyrling master must be appointed by the weyrleaders and must have a good deal of experience as well as a thick skin because as many as 25% of all weyrlings can die before the end of their training. weyrling masters are usually bronzeriders, though highly respected and very senior brown or blueriders are sometimes assigned to the position.
- weyrlings; young, immature dragons and their riders. young dragons generally fly for the first time at about one turn (year) and train with the weyrling wing until mature enough to join a fighting wing, usually between 1½ and 2 Turns. weyrling dragonriders may not join a fighting wing until age 16, no matter how mature their dragon. weyrling riders who have completed training but are not yet turned 16 are often assigned messenger or sentry duties until they come of age. they do not have adult level rank/status until they have been accepted into a fighting wing.
- lower cavern staff; are often, but not always, the candidates who failed to impress a dragon, the grown children of dragonriders, or those who have run away from home to live in the more liberal, accepting atmosphere of the weyr. this includes cooks, servers, cleaning staff for common areas, those who care for the beasts that will feed the dragons, and many others. lower caverns workers often satisfy the sexual needs of riders who have lost a mating flight. they are led and organized by the headwoman, who is usually ranked just under the weyrleaders in authority. all of the staff will be non-played characters and can be controlled by anyone.
- candidates; young people who are given the opportunity to become a dragonrider. they are chosen either from the weyr itself or through search, where a sensitive dragon, usually a blue or green, seeks mentally sensitive boys and girls who are of the correct temperament to match minds with a dragon hatchling. usually those searched are aged 12–18, although older candidates (up to age 22) are also searched if there is a need for mature riders. with the addition of any weyrbrat above the age of 12, the searched are familiarized with the eggs and are present when the eggs hatch. the hatchlings choose, or impress, a candidate who suits his or her temperamental and/or other (still unknown) needs. the minimum age of the candidates is decided by the weyrleaders and may be changed according to the weyr's needs. if there is a greater need for older more responsible riders, the age may be pushed back, if there is a shortage of riders, the age may be lowered. the minimum age may also be changed depending on whether pern is experiencing fall or pass. the youngest anyone has impressed a dragon is aged 10, the oldest seems to be in their early twenties. there have been periods of time in pern's history where females have not been able to impress and ride green dragons, but now they are allowed in the hatching grounds for every clutch. when a boy impresses a dragon, it is tradition for them to shorten their names and add an apostrophe, such as famanoran to f'nor. girls aren't held to this tradition and keep their names even as a rider.

┌──────────────┐
xx.CREATURES
└──────────────┘
- dragons are the mighty creatures (ranging from 20-45 feet or 6-13 meters long) that were scientifically created to destroy the life-threatening thread and are now bred and raised as protectors of pern and the companions of the weyrfolk. only certain people are chosen to bond with these magnificent beasts and the bonds last a lifetime, if one dies the other normally dies soon after by suicide, unable to live without their other half. there are certain colors for certain genders such as gold and green for the females and bronze, brown, and blue for the males. golds are very rare and there is normally only two to four per weyr, a senior and a few juniors with the senior as the leader. normally when a person bonds, or impresses, a dragon it is of the same gender like a female to a gold or green, but a male impressing a green is actually rather common and females impressing blues are starting to become more common. a dragon who has just hatched and isn't yet fit for battle is considered a weyrling. they can only speak to other dragons, lizards, and their own rider, very rarely can someone hear all dragons or lizards. they will sometimes 'speak' to other people should the need arise. dragon names end in a '-th'.
- fire lizards are the smaller dragon-like creatures (largest is as big as an eagle) that were originally used to create dragons by genetically enhancing them into much larger beasts. the lizards are hard to tame and even harder to find so a person with bonded lizards is considered very lucky and even envied by others, especially if the person already has a dragon. unlike the dragons though, lizards don't commit suicide if their person dies, they normally revert back to the wild and rarely impress again, but there are cases where they do suffer from the loss. there are certain colors for certain genders such as gold and green for the females and bronze, brown, and blue for the males. like dragons, golds are pretty rare, but not as rare as a dragon one, there aren't any set way to know who's the leader until two females or two males meet and sort it out among themselves. unlike dragons, any gender can impress a gold and their names can be anything, they aren't restricted to the '-th' ending. as with dragons, lizards speak telepathically, but instead of words they send flashes of images and will only 'speak' to whomever impressed them unless someone can hear all dragons and lizards.
- to impress a fire lizard you must have a fire lizard egg and be there when it hatches. once the hatchling is free of the shell it is ravenous with hunger and will do anything to fill its empty belly which is how people are able to impress upon them. the person must have plenty of red meat, or any kind of meat though red is preferred, and quickly feed the hatchling while holding and speaking softly to it the whole time. the hatchling will respond to the gentleness and imprint on the person feeding them. if the person is too forceful or too harsh in their words or thoughts, the hatchling will jump between to flee them and go to the wild. gentle hands and sweet words along with plenty of meat and welcoming open thoughts is the only way to keep a hatchling and have them imprint on you. it's not possible to impress a grown wild fire lizard, they are shy and flee from humans.
- gold; also called "queens", they are the largest dragons (40–45 feet or 12-13 meters long) and are the only fertile females. gold dragons are by far the rarest dragons on pern, at just less than one percent of the population. they are dominant over all other colors; any non-gold dragon will invariably obey a queen's orders, even against the wishes of its own rider. queens are incapable of digesting firestone and producing flame; however, they do fight thread – they fly in the lowest wing, with their riders armed with specially-designed flamethrowers to flame any thread missed by the wings flying above. an egg that is going to hatch a gold dragon is notable: it is gold-colored and larger than other eggs, it will also be kept separate from the other molten colored eggs. a gold dragon will always impress a heterosexual female and are believed by most weyrfolk to prefer young women who were not raised in the weyr.
- green; they are the smallest color (20–24 feet or 6-7 meters long), and make up about half of all dragons on pern (fifty percent). they are female, but unlike the queens, they are infertile due to the chronic use of firestone and can produce flame. they are extremely valuable in threadfall because of their agility, but they lack the stamina to last an entire fall and generally fly in two or three shifts. originally, greens impressed only girls; however, after various natural disasters and plagues decimated pern's population, women were needed to help repopulate the planet. since going between during pregnancy can induce miscarriage and because removing pregnant riders from the wings reduced the effectiveness of the wings, it became impractical to present large numbers of women as candidates for impression. thus, green dragons began impressing homosexual boys and the idea of women impressing greens were fairly uncommon. since the population is no longer in need of such measures, women are once again allowed to impress greens along side the men.
- bronze; the largest males (35–45 feet or 10-13 meters long), although they are still significantly smaller than the queens. bronzes account for about five percent of all dragons. they are almost always the ones to mate with queens, as the smaller colors generally lack the stamina to chase and catch the gold dragons when they rise to mate. due to the 5-1 bronze/gold ratio and the infrequency of gold mating flights, they often mate with greens (the losers of a gold flight almost always seek a green for their needs), but their size often puts them at a disadvantage in chasing the agile, smaller females. the senior bronze of a weyr is determined through which bronze wins the mating flight of the senior gold. the rider of a bronze dragon is always a heterosexual male.
- brown; these males are the next largest color (30–40 feet or 9-12 meters long). about fifteen percent of all dragons are brown. they may occasionally mate with queens, although this is rare, and becomes even more rare as the dragons increase in size, instead they usually mate with greens. all brown riders are men; most are heterosexual, but bisexual or "masculine" homosexual brown riders are not unheard of, just uncommon.
- blue; these are the smallest males (24–30 feet or 7-9 meters long) and make up about a third (thirty percent) of all dragons on pern. they are nearly as agile as greens, but unlike the greens, they often have enough stamina to last for an entire threadfall. they mate only with greens as they are simply too small to keep up with a massive queen over a long mating flight. some assume the position of teaching the new riders after their impression. blue riders are typically homosexual or bisexual males, though some are heterosexual. masculine bisexual or lesbian women have begun to impress blues, though it's still uncommon.

xx.WEATHER / LOCATION
└─────────────────────────┘
- current season; the current season is that of spring.
the snow has melted and everything is waking from it's winter slumber. farmers are tilling their fields and planting their crops while the herders are witnessing new births in their herds. the dragons are feeling better with the coming of the sun's warmth and are more active though they are regularly seen sunbathing on their ledges. with sun comes a different kind of heat, a mating heat. green dragons are feeling frisky and are rising to mate, but no matter how hard they try, a mere green cannot produce a golden queen. the old golden queen is dying and will leave behind her clutch of twelve soon to jump between to follow her rider who has already preceded her in death. among the clutch is the much needed golden egg of the next queen, the future of the weyr.
- weather report; the skies above the weyr are clear and warm with the spring sun, only a handful of clouds dot the vivid blue expanse. the nights are also clear, but the temperature drops rather low with winter still fighting to keep hold. there seems to be rain on the horizon, though it won't reach the weyr for several more days at least.
- thread update; thread isn't due for several years, but there are patrols circling the area just in case their calculations are off. the silver strands will fall after a 2-year timeskip to allow the new hatchlings to mature and the new queen to have her first mating flight.
- about the weyr; this is the benden weyr, the second oldest weyr on pern after fort weyr. most of it's caverns and cave systems are natural, but some are hand carved with plasma cutters that went out of use shortly after the creation of the weyr.
x - outside view of the whole weyr (shaded is inside the mountain)

x - what everyone's personal cavern looks like (ignore 'mnementh')

└────────────────┘ born to the lord and lady of telgar hold, myna was raised with the understanding that she will be married off to the son of another lord to keep their alliances strong. she never liked the idea of being sold off like some herdbeast, but didn't speak up until the dragonriders came on search one year. myna was only twelve at the time and her parents refused to release her to the riders so she was passed up. she had never seen a dragon before, at least not up close, and when the riders had come, myna fell in love with the idea of becoming a rider. since the green dragons were laying every month or so, myna was able to see the search dragons every few months, much to her parents' growing annoyance. after four years, myna finally left home when the riders came for search one day, without her parent's permission. they ended up disowning her for running away, but myna didn't care because she was going to be a dragonrider and not some boring lord's wife. myna was brought before a green's clutch, but didn't get chosen by any of the hatchlings so she stuck around. she didn't mind the rejections from each green clutch she was presented to. daemyna was one of the chosen candidates for the dying queen's last clutch and was the lucky girl to be chosen. it was a rough 2 years in learning all she can about being a weyrwoman in her young age. when corenth took to the skies in her first ever mating flight, daemyna was hopeful for a bountiful clutch and was rewarded with 38 eggs. the queen proved herself after that clutch and gives hope to the future.
myna is a fiercely independent woman and is often the one to take charge if things get out of control. though she has a heart of gold, it's often hidden behind a wall of thorns which makes it difficult for people to try and bond with her. the only ones she gets along with is her fire lizards. she's still getting use to having a weyrmate and is still quite abrasive towards him. emma and sky are both pretty docile lizards, though sky tends to get snappy towards those he doesn't know while emma loves to cuddle. corenth is as fiery and strong willed as her rider, a true golden queen. she is softer and more gentle towards her clutch, but can get very protective and fierce should someone miss step around her eggs. corenth is also quite fond of her weyrmate [name], the sire to her eggs, but is still getting to know him.
standing at five feet ten inches, myna is a rather tall woman and is lean from being so active. she has ash blonde hair that's almost white and deep blue eyes which are often flashing with some emotion, usually frustration or annoyance. myna dresses as other riders do in breeches and tunics made to withstand the cold of between, but wears skirts at the moment due to corenth being egg bound on the sands and unwilling to leave them. her hair is often tied back in braids, but much of it is left hanging to give her a rather regal look. corenth's hide is a lovely molten gold that deepens after feedings or lightens with emotion. she is the largest dragon in the weyr with the length of almost fifty feet and an even wider wingspan.

6 • bound to wing fighter k'lor
gold lizard • no mate
└────────────────┘ born in the weyr itself, k'lor doesn't really know who his parents are only that they were riders and he doesn't care enough to find out who they are. he was born with the name, kylorian, but had always gone by the nickname kylor as a youth. like most of the other weyrbrats in the weyr, k'lor was brought before several clutches before he got lucky and impressed. many had thought he would impress a nice bronze or even a strong brown, but he was very content with his wonderful blue, namenth [nah-menth]. soon after the hatching ended, the boys shortened their names and k'lor shortened his from kylorian to just k'lor. out of sheer luck, k'lor had impressed a gold fire lizard on a mission to the southern weyr. the little queen bonded with both k'lor and namenth quickly and is often curled around k'lor's neck.
k'lor is a pretty laid back guy, though he does have a temper at times, especially when a green is getting ready to rise to mate and namenth is rearing to chase. outside of the mating chaos, both dragon and rider are pretty friendly towards just about everyone. k'lor is usually rather quiet when in large groups and would rather there be silence than chatter. namenth is like his rider in that regard, preferring silence, but he does enjoy conversing with the other dragons. the blue also enjoys sunbathing as do all dragons, and is often lounging on his ledge with k'lor nearby reading quietly and beauty, k'lor's queen lizard, sunbathing close by as well. like most blue riders, k'lor is bisexual with no set preference since green riders are either male or female. so far k'lor hasn't found anyone of interest even though namenth has chased several greens, none of the riders really stuck with him. beauty has had a few clutches of her own over the years and is due to rise in the coming days.
just by the look of him, many would imagine k'lor to be a bronze rider or even a brown rider, not a blue rider like he is. he stands at just over six feet tall and is well muscled, though still lean. his hair is a mess of brown curls which is often left without brushing, and his eyes are a beautiful blue like his dragon's hide. namenth is a rather large blue with a length of nearly thirty feet, and tends to rival the smaller browns in size, but he doesn't care enough to challenge the other males. namenth is also very proud of his blue color and is often in the lake bathing to keep it as pristine as possible. beauty is even more vain than namenth in the way she constantly preens herself and sunbathes to brighten her golden hide.
