Alessa seemed discouraged as she looked off to the side. She knew she couldn't fake being sick all the time, especially with Mary being a nurse. Still, she felt she had no say in the matter. "I don't have much of a choice..." she said quietly.

[LilacSky]

David gave Alessa a hug. "I know it seems like I'm being mean, but just like the injections, this really is for your benefit. You'll like school, and if you don't, it takes up only half your day, and you have weekends! I'll get you registered and see when we can have a tour."

[Boomer]

Alessa didn't return the hug. She was upset that she had to go when she was told before she didn't have to. The pup stared at the wall. Mary sighed softly as she watched them.

David let go of her, frowning. "I tell you all the time that we have to do things we don't like." He sighed. "Why don't you go work on your book while I call all the nearby schools?"

[Boomer]

Alessa didn't say a word as she went to her room. Mary got up and put her paw on his shoulder. "I know you want to spoil her and make her happy, but what you're doing is great." she said softly, "She still needs rules and boundaries."

[LilacSky]

"I know. I want her to be happy, but getting an education and getting her paws dirty sometimes is more important. Thank you, though, Mary. You're helping me become a better Father."

[Boomer]

"Of course she isn't ready to be in a full classroom. Baby steps are vital for her." she murmured. Mary then nodded. "You're welcome." she added, smiling a little.

"I'll have to introduce her to the teachers and students, of course," David said, looking up and picking a nearby school.

[Boomer]

"You'll be looking for a more... special education type setting, right?" she asked quietly. Not that there was anything wrong with Alessa, but the pup couldn't be expected to be right at a fifth grade level the day she started. Alessa had only been in the second grade for less than two months before the accident.
