the sinosauropteryx is one of few dinosaurs whose coloration is actually known thanks to the analysis of preserved melanosomes (which are responsible for the production of color and pigment). Thanks to this, we know that the sinosauropteryx was reddish-brown with lighter countershading and light stripes on its tale. More recent analysis reveal that the reddish-brown colors created a raccoon-like mask on the face.
