@canary: Pretty common if they've got white markings as far as I know! My boy has black markings on his tongue and the back of his mouth (he's a classic tabby with white).

Ok, thank you! I was just wondering because I have a pure black cat who has a black spot on his tongue, and I wanted to know how many other cats had similar things. I haven’t seen another cat with tongue markings before.

My cat Pumpkin has a black spot on her tongue, and a bunch of little freckles on her left ear. She's a calico though, so I imagine it's pretty common for them.

I have 5 adult cats and 6 kittens.

Is it possible to teach a cat, not to cuddle and groom them self, that laying next to your head, pressed up to your face is not the place and time for a bath, that if they want to stay in bed, to go to your feet?

My favorite breeds by far are the lovely Maine Coon (my current cat is 3/4th's maine coon) and Exotic Shorthair (a pipe dream of mine to own!! it's a mix of British shorthairs and Persians).

we have wood stoves. we have a pot of water on top. we have a pitchure of water for those pots. Gary has is own water. two sources. why would he want to stick his head and drink out of a tall glass, when he splashes his shallow water. and of course has his own.

A lot of cats prefer running water or fresh water. If your cat's water just sits in the bowl all day, but you frequently use the water pitcher, then he probably thinks that your water is more fresh than his. Try refilling his bowl with fresh water at least 3 times a day, and make sure he sees you doing it. That might help. Otherwise, something like a fountain bowl might be the best option if you don't want him drinking your water or making a mess of his own.

I'll be bringing my sphynx kitten home from the breeder in January. They require more protein than furry cats due to their lack of fur, so they need a high protein diet, and preferably one that is very healthy. Does anybody have any recommendations? I am located in Canada and will prefer to use dry food. I cannot afford a raw diet and I don't like using wet food.

is anyone gonna be dressing their cat or other pets up for halloween? i won't since my cats can't even handle wearing a collar let alone a hat or clothing. would be cute though. would be mighty cute.

I was very tempted to buy my cat Pumpkin a pumpkin costume, but I know she'd never let me put it on her so I decided against it. In hindsight I probably could have put it on Wynnie, she lets me do anything. lol
I did buy my dog a sweater with a pumpkin on it though, so she'll be wearing that and her jack-o-lantern bandana for Halloween.
