Is the banner limit 200 a daily limit or a total limit?
if it's a total limit I'm going to be very sad.

The banner limit is the total limit - though it's not 200 anymore, it was raised early today. It's likely 250 now, but we won't know for sure until people start hitting it again. It's also possible it may be raised even more before the event is over - it most commonly ends at 300. (Also, it would be impossible to click 200 banners in one day because of the 20 minuet cooldown - in 24 hours you could, at most, get 72 banners, if you got one every 20 minuets on the dot, without any break.)
