You can add your friend as a friend if you first go to Acccount settings then friends & foes

Down under the help tab, there should be a link to “Members”. Then you just click it, and find your friend!

Ask your friend what their username is and add them to your friends list!

That would be the best solution, that way you know it's really your friend!
