the Myotragus balearicus was a now-extinct inhabitant of a barren Mediterranean island. In an environment with little resources and no predators, they are thought to have survived by becoming cold-blooded, adapting lazy and reptile-like habits of lazing in the sun.
they are one of the very very rare herbivores to have forward facing eyes. therefore, it can easily be assumed that the main reason they went extinct is because anything that saw them would instinctively want to kill them
it's been a long and winding trip
and who'da thought it'd come to this
the end of days, a cosmic kiss
hold your breath and hold on tight
hunker down, try not to cry
tell the critters that you love
that you love them, that's enough
cause there's no stopping what's to come
some stuff's just etched into the stars
calamities you can't outrun
and when, sweet earth, we finally meet
the sky will burn and boil and sea
as mountains rend, it's you and me
here at the end of history
