The dogs of the Metal Graveyards are usually quite alert and vicious, only offering and intruder a place in the pack or a quick death. The haven was no longer a haven. The refuge was no longer what it was meant to be. LUNA saw the civilization she had created to be perfect destroyed by its roots.

SOMETHING had to be done, to drive away the demons that had dared to step upon the land, and to take all the death and bloodshed along with them. And so, LUNA formulated PROJECT SPARTAN-IV.

THE FIRST SPARTAN-IV was created by LUNA in her own image, her people's image. His name was MADDOX. And he was the perfect soldier, the perfect descendent of the wolves and the perfect son. He was brave, strong, gifted with the strength and the speed and the cunning of wolves. He fought well against the shadows, though even to this day they have not been completely banished. He became known as the first MASTER CHIEF and in his elder years trained the next generation of SPARTAN-IV until he joined his mother in the ANCESTRAL PLANE.

MEANWHILE, the shadows rise once more, and the SPARTAN-IV to meet them in battle . . .

Spring has now arrived, slowly melting away the final snowy

Victor's cold gaze scanned the wreck of the Silver Adders. Heaps of them lay on their sides, some still upright on the Snakepath, some half on, half off. This will do. he thought.

Victor's claws clicked against the ground as he snuffled around inside of them, trying to find the most spacious one of all. He found it in a Silver Adder still on the tracks. It had soft, moss-like materials for him to lay on, and the enclosed section that led him from the Silver Adder's rear to the front was a perfect place to think and eat prey.

HAYDEN IS A DOG that is believed to have been the old leader of orthros or a clone of him themselves...
he came out of nowhere, no one knows of his past and even more strangely, hayden himself knows noth
ing of his past either.. he has woken up from a dream that he believed was a conversation with him and
the gods, having been told that he was the new lord of orthros and that he was needed to bring them b
ack to their days of glory. hayden believed them since he didn't know who he truly was and had gone to
old rocky palace that was also told about in his dream. every night, he would be told what to do by the
se gods, and soon, he will be said to bring forth more dogs into orthros and the rest will come naturally.

VINROL is where orthros resides. it is considered the birthplace of gods, being a place of stories and fab
le but everything else known about it has gotten so tangled up in story tales that no one knows of its tr
ue origins and how it came to be. vinrol is unknown of to other dogs that live outside of it, there are fe
w canines that have come from the outside and most dogs that live in vinrol have been born here... the
most well-known thing about vinrol is its massive mountains that are said to go only a little bit beyond t
he clouds. the orthros live inside one of the mountains which is called raslem after one of their gods. th
e fact that there's an inside to mount raslem is very mysterious, no one knows how it came to be. inside
raslem, there is the main entrance which leads dogs in and out; the area is always guarded by at least t
wo canines to keep others from breaking in. this place serves no purpose but members of the orthros us

d rocky ground. to the left there is a small area which is where the fresh-kill and other items are stored.
going back to the main entrance, to the left is a short passageway to the medic's separate den and the q
uarantine for sick and injured dogs. finally, to the right from the entrance is the passageway that takes t
hem out to the back of mount raslem, there is a stairway that takes them down to the ground, where th
ere is a grove where dogs are free to relax at as well as a pond which is where they get water from. outs
ide of mount raslem are a few other places that they go to; the grounds is where they hunt which is a m
eadow that is far past the pine forest that surrounds them; the sachem stone is a canine-like statue that
sits outside of the temple of opoq, where the lord may come to request something from the gods .........

for decades, the orthros have believed in many superstitions, stories, traditions and fables; you could say
their entire life revolves around these sorts of things, they have their own religion which most dogs of vin
rol is apart of as well. one superstition revolves around the pit to the underworld, which is a large pit tha
t is said to be a passageway to the underworld. to keep the god of the underworld content, on the beginn
ing of every autumn, the orthros kill one prey animal, whether it be a rabbit or a bird, and throw it down
into the pit. they do this to satisfy the god's "excessive need for blood", believing that if they brought fre
sh kill that their blood lust will ease until next autumn. one tradition of there's is for adolescent dogs tha
t are to get their ranks. once they are deemed of an appropriate age,, they must go down to the training
area, which also is where the gladiators go for fights in the summer or spring, and battle their mentor usi
ng all the knowledge they've learned from them. if they are to win, they get approved of a ranking and n
o longer be an apprentice, but if they are to lose then they will have to wait two more moons of time for
a rematch. speaking of gladiators, there is another purpose for the lackeys or omegas in orthros. every su
mmer and spring, the pack has an annual fight that takes place in the arena/training area. usually it is ag
ainst another lackey but it the lord is free to force another dog to fight them if he really wishes to.. most
of the time, the fights end in either severe injury that will be treated by a medic or in death, their bodies
being thrown out in the river to flow away. the fights are thought to be another way to keep the god of th
e underworld at bay, to ease their blood lust. the orthros also have traditional accessories that that are m
ade during the summer. one summer night, the entire pack huddles together for their annual festival for t
he gods. they wear the skulls and bones of various animals including foxes, rabbits and deer, as well as fea
thers from various birds that have been collected throughout the year. the day is considered the birth date
of the major gods and they usually celebrated annually if not experiencing anything else .....................

Garland notices a presence as he is walking back to camp with his kill. The red and white feathers of the woodpecker stand out in his fur. He suddenly drops the bird and spins around. Growling, he commands "Whoever is out there it would be best to reveal yourself. If not, then it will end poorly for you."
A snow-white samoyed and a black greyhound walk into view from between the budding branches of a bush. The samoyed speaks up first. "Hello. My comrade and I happened to come across your territory. Are you in charge here?"
Garland nods and stands a little taller. He wanted to appear proud and also intimidating in case these dogs were looking for trouble. "yes. That is me. State your business quickly. I am busy running my kennel."
The samoyed says "My name is Kalta and this is Ulysses. We have recently been in need of a kennel to join and were wondering if you'd be accepting new members."
Garland tried to hide his slight smile. His first new kennel mates. "Yes, of course. Follow me back to camp and I'll assess your capabilities."
The three dogs arrived at camp and Garland started examining them and questioning them on their skills. What did they do in their last kennel and what did they feel was their strongest skill. Kalta was good fighter and had endurance. But she was too small to be the leader of the Guardians. Other members might not take her seriously and she may be beat easily. Ulysses is fast and can turn on a dime. He was quiet though, and liked to stay away from the action. Kalta had a commanding energy and Garland had no doubt that she was smart. She had found Ulysses and he seemed to follow her lead.
Garland decided that Kalta should be his beta and the Commander of the Hunters. Ulysses will be a Hunter also. He gave them ivy to put on their middles. Kalta also received ivy for her head. Garland explained "You both have received this ivy as recognition of becoming a member of the Ivy Scouts. But to prove your worth, you must earn your wings by taking down a bird. Once you have, you will get to wear your feathers and be a full-fledged member. You may work together to take down a bird or earn your feathers yourself."
After a few days of hunting and no luck catching a bird, the two come back to camp with another dog. Kalta tell Garland "We found him wandering the territory. He wants to join the Ivy Scouts. It is up to you, alpha."
Garland overlooked the new dog. He was a brown and white dalmatian with quite a build for a dog of his breed. Garland asks "What is your name?"
The male answered in a low-pitched voice "Niko. It would be an honor to serve under you."
"Niko, can you fight?" Garland asks.
"I feel that I can fight quite well. When I lived in the cities, you had to fight for your food and survival. I came out here to look for a better life."
"Hmm. I need an experienced fighter. I will make you the Commander of the Guardians. Your job is to protect this kennel from any dangers. I expect you to sacrifice yourself if needed. As Commander, you will also be in charge of the new Guardians. Wear this ivy as a sign of your rank and branch. Go hunting with Kalta and Ulysses. Kalta, my beta, is in charge."
"I will serve you well. Thank you."
