Welcome to Tortugas Islands, a small Island chain nestled in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The Islands are home to a variety of animals including; rabbits, turtles, bears, dog foxes, lizards, and birds! However due to a recent population surge the Islands owner, Ricia, has decided to open the Tortugas Islands to visitors! Now you may adopt your very own Island Pet!

Hola mis Amigos, Ricia here and I have some great news. While working on the July Festival I met with an animal researcher named plop. She specializes in exotic and endagered animals. She helped find the mascots for the Festival Competition. However as we were talking she told me about three species she new that needed new homes. The Bundi were endanger of extinction due to Habitat destruction and the Farasi Bahari & Farasi Majani Bahari where in need of studying so I said we would take them all in at the Islands. I already have a small group in quarentine getting ready to be rehabiliated. For more information on the breeds go to the Wildlife section.

❀Meet the staff of Tortugas Islands!❀

Ricia // Islands Owner

Ricia is the owner of the Tortugas Islands chain of islands. She is in charge of all Island business and events; as well as keeping an eye on the Islands Wildlife. She is the head of the Island Sanctuary and the Islands breeding program. All staff members report directly to her. Despite all this responsibility Ricia is a laid back island girl who loves meeting visitors and interacting with the all the Islands residents. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to send a PM.

Boccef // Beach Patrol & Reserve Tour Guide

Boccef is the head of the Beach Patrol, she spends her time patrolling the Islands making sure all visitors follow the Islands Rules. She also hands out Island Maps and is in charge of answering any questions visitors might have about Island procedures. If you have any questions about the way things work on the Islands don't be afraid to ask Boccef OR Ricia. Boccef is also in charge of making sure there are no disputes on the Islands.

:.Phail♥ is one of two new Wildlife Rehabilitators that have recently joined the islands, she spends her time helping Ricia rehabilitate the Islands wildlife. She helps tend to animals in the Sanctuary and match rehabilitated pets with Island visitors. She also helps to oversee the island Breeding program. clm is the newest Wildlife Rehabilitator to join the Tortugas. She is in charge of helping :.Phail♥ & Ricia rehabilitate the Island Wildlife. Midnight's Light // Beachcomber & Seafarer's Tour Guide

Midnight's Light is an old friend of Ricia's that decided to help out on the Islands She is in charge of keeping track of all Island pet activities and reporting them to Ricia and the Wildlife Rehabilitators. If you have questions about what your pets might be getting up to you might look her up. However be warned she spends most of her time watching the Wildlife, so she might not have time for chatting.

Cascade // Assistant Wildlife Rehabilitator & Land Lubber's Tour Guide

Cascade is an Assistant Wildlife Rehabilitator that helps around the Islands when the other Wildlife Rehabilitators and Ricia get swamped with work. So you'll probably see her wandering the islands helping out.

❀Tortugas ❀

The Tortuga is the namesake of the Tortugas Islands. They are land turtles that are found on all four Islands in the Tortugas Islands chain. They are very solitary creatures, you will never find adults in groups larger then two. Adult males are entirely solitary and adult females will occasionally travel in pairs. Hatchlings will stay with their clutch mates until they reach adulthood, then they will go their separate ways.
Name: Tortugas (pl), Tortuga (singular) means "turtle" in Spanish

❀Tortugas Marinas ❀

The Tortugas Marinas is the aquatic cousin of the Tortugas. They are aquatic turtles that are found on all islands in rivers and ponds, except the Isla Desierta, as well as in the reefs surrounding the island. Like their land cousins they are very solitary creatures, you will never find adults in groups larger then two. Adult males are entirely solitary and adult females will occasionally travel in pairs. Hatchlings will stay with their clutch mates until they reach adulthood, then they will go their separate ways.
Name: Tortugas Marinas (singluar/plural) means "sea turtle" in Spanish

❀Lapins ❀

The Lapins are the smallest mammals currently found on the Islands. They live in all four islands of the Tortugas Islands chain. They are very sociable, living in large family groups called "warrens". Both genders seem to get along well, although males will fight other males if put next to each other. The kits will stay with their mother in a burrow until they are ready to venture out into the world.
Name: Lapins (pl), Lapin (singular) means "rabbit" in French

❀Paradisi Aves ❀

The Paradisi Aves, are a species of bird found only on Tortugas Islands. They are fluffy flightless birds that live on three of the four islands. The only island they are not found on is the Isla Desierta. They live in small family groups called "flocks", the hatchlings stay with both parents until they are ready to venture out in the world.
Name: Paradisi Aves (pl), Avis Paradisi (singular) means "bird(s) of paradise" in Latin

❀NEW SPECIES! Flore Canes❀

These little canine are a delight! They are very intelligent and mischievous, always playing games with each other and other island inhabitants. They live in close family groups called "clans" and get along well with everyone! The adults mate for life, and both parents share in the raising of the young. The young seem to stay with their parents well into adulthood, even when they find their own territory they seem to visit their parents often.
Name: Flore Canes (plural) Canis Flora (singular) means "flower/plant dog" in Latin

These loveable bears are kin to the Giant Pandas of Asia. How they managed to get on an Island in the Middle of the Pacific is anyone's guess. They are extremely shy and seem to spend most of their time hiding in Bamboo forests or near their mountain homes. They remain almost entirely solitary, only coming together to mate. The females will care for the young until they reach young adulthood then the young are expected to find their own homes.

These rare marine lizards are found exclusively on Tortugas Islands. They are similar to the Marine Iguanas of the Galapagos Islands. They live in large groups called rookeries. They spend their time either basking on the beach OR diving into the water to get their food. The males and females get along well, however males do fight during mating season. The young hatch completely self-reliant.
Name:Naga Laut (singluar/plural) means "marine dragon" in Indonesian
Cost: 100 Pucas

❀NEW SPECIES! Gurun Naga❀

These are the land cousins of the Naga Laut. They have evolved to live on land. Oddly enough they were first found on Isla Desierta. A few have adapted to lives on the other islands as well. Unlike their marine cousins the Gurun Naga are solitary creatures. They come together only to mate and both genders are extremely territorial.
Name:Gurun Naga (singluar/plural) means "desert dragon" in Indonesian

❀NEW SPECIES! Bundi❀

These owls are newcomers to the island. They were relocated from their previous homes due to loss of habitat. They are relatively used to people and will move around during the day, although they still prefer the night. They are solitary for most of their lives, although mated pairs live together. Both parents help in raising the chicks. They are also very good long distance flyers and can fly the length of the islands in back with little problems.
Name:Bundi (singluar/plural) means "owl" in Swahili

These aquatic animals are a recently discovered species found in the Pacific Ocean. They have been moved to the Islands for observation and to protect them from poachers. They are extremely shy and live in small groups called "ng'ombe". They have characteristics of both fish and mammals, for instance they are warm blooded but they have gills. No one knows exactly what they are although they seem to be distantly related to seahorses.
*Remember as entirely aquatic species the Farasi Bahari must have either an ocean OR underwater cave OR kelp forest habitat to survive.*

The Tortugas Island chain is a group of four islands making up Tortugas Islands.

❀What are the Islands in Tortugas Islands? ❀

The four islands making up Tortugas Islands are:
Isla Desierta, Spanish for "Desert Island" this island is a desert landscape with few plants. It is home mostly to the Tortugas & Gurun Naga, however the ocassional Lapin can be found as well.

Isla del Coco, Spanish for "Coconut Island", this island has lots of palm trees and coconuts, as well as sandy beaches and grass. Home to Paradisi Aves, Lapins, Gurun Naga, Naga Laut, Tortugas and Tortugas Marinas.

Jardines del Paraíso, Spanish for "Paradise Gardens", this island is the most vibrant of all the islands. It has many ponds and even a river, Río de las Flores or "the river of flowers". It is most known for its gardens, flowers cover every inch of the island. Home to Paradisi Aves, Lapins, Gurun Naga, Tortugas and Tortugas Marinas.

Tortuga de Arrecifes, Spanish for "Turtle Reef", this reef lies across the entire length of the Tortugas Islands chain and is home to Tortugas Marinas, Farasi Bahari, Farasi Majani Bahari, & Naga Laut.

Isla de Bambú Spanish for "Bamboo Island" because it is covered in Bamboo forests! It also has a giant mountain at its center that is named "Niebla de Montaña" or Mist Mountain. The island is home to all the regular island Species: Tortugas, Lapins, Paradisi Aves, Gurun Naga, and even small Tortugas Marinas found in lily ponds. As well as three species native only to this Island, Dog Foxes, Giant Bears, and Pgymy Bears.

Los Bosques Del Mar, Spanish for "Forests of the Sea", these kelp forests have been planted near the Tortuga de Arrecifes by plop and Ricia. They were created to house the Farasi Bahari and Farasi Majani Bahari, although Naga Laut and Tortugas Marinas also enjoy swimming through them.

❀How many Island pets can I have? ❀

You may have as many pets as fit in your boxes.

❀How many island pets fit in a box? ❀

Each starter box fits no more then 4 adults OR 2 adults and 1 litter. Each Upgrade box holds 8 adults OR 4 adults 2 litters.
FOR BEARS: 2 adults OR 1 female and 1 litter per Starter Box. 4 Adults OR 2 adults 1 Litter OR 1 adult two litters per Upgrade Box

❀How many boxes can I have? ❀

Island Visitors [normal customers] may have 3 Starter boxes only OR 1 Upgrade Box and 1 Starter box, Island Staff & Island Elite may have 4 Starter Boxes OR 2 Upgrade Boxes OR 1 Upgrade Box & 2 Starter Boxes.

❀How do I adopt an island pet? ❀

When your purchase a box at Boxes post, you get one free pet! You can purchase additional pets at the Boxes post OR check out the Sanctuary for "free" pets.

❀How do I buy a box? ❀

Make sure the slots are open and visit the BOX post.

❀Do you do customs? ❀

I do not currently make custom linearts, however you may purchase Island pets when the box slots are open, simply check the BOX post.

❀Can I breed my pets? ❀

Yes you may, you must purchase a "Love Berry" from the Island Mall and reserve a Nesting Box.

❀How many babies do I get when I breed? ❀

Tortugas/Tortugas Marinas & Gurun Naga/Naga Laut: 1-3 eggs per clutch; Lapins: 2-4 babies per litter; Paradisi Aves/ Bundi: 1-3 eggs per batch. Dog Foxes: 1-4 young per litter; Bears/ Farasi Bahari/ Farasi Majani Bahari: 1 or 2 young per litter
Babies take 1 week to be weened and another week to be ready to leave their parents
Eggs take 1 weeks to hatch, another week to leave the nest.
It is takes 1 week after breeding for a female to lay eggs/have babies.

Yes you may! If you have an idea for a new island species, an event, or an item for the shop feel free to send Ricia a PM describing your idea. (Extra points for those that send a picture) if your idea is added you will get 100 Pucas and unlimited stock of the item.

❀My box hasn't changed in a really long time, why not? ❀

It may take between 20 min to 2 hours for your box to change once an event takes place. If it has not changed within 24hrs please let Ricia know.

You may also try pressing F5 to refresh you box image.

❀My box is gone! What happened? ❀

Sometimes when a new event goes through the box will disapear for a time, please wait about 24 hours, if the box is still gone let Ricia know.

❀My pet is gone! What happened? ❀

Have no fear, your pet probably just wandered into another players box, check out the Island Community to see if you can find your pet.

❀What's up with those Maps around the shop?? ❀

The map images found around the shop are the Island Map, if you are lost or can't find something feel free to click on them to be taken to the Island Map, a list of all the posts in the shop.

❀How do I purchase additional pets for my box??❀

Wait until Box slots are opened and fill out the ADDITIONAL PETS form! Slots must be open before you purchase the pet!.

❀How long do my pets stay in the Nesting Boxes??❀

All pets must stay in the Nesting Box for ONE WEEK before they are eligible for adoption, you have 1 week to find them a proper home if you have not found them a home after one week they will be given to the sanctuary.

❀Do I need a milk bottle or a nest?? ❀

If you are adopting a "wild baby" from the NURSERY, then you need to purchase a milk bottle and a nest. They keep your baby healthy and allow them to grow to the next growth stage. (kit AND adult).

If you are breeding your pets OR breeding with another players pets then you don't have to purchase a milk bottle or a nest. The mammals will feed the babies milk naturally and the reptiles all get complimentary milk bottles.
Either way the mother will build her own nest so you don't have to purchase one.

❀Welcome to the Tortugas Island Sanctuary! ❀

The Sanctuary is where we take Island Wildlife that have been injured and need healing, this is also where we place young that have been abandoned by their parents. All the pets in the sanctuary are up for free adoption. It's first come, first serve. If you wish to donate one of your eggs/kits/or pets to the Sanctuary PM Ricia.


All this month's sanctuary pets have PPS. So they will not grow beyond their current stage.

The nursery is where "wild" babies are placed up for adoption. The wild babies are babies that parents abandoned them in the wild. They have been hand fed by the Islands staff and are looking for new forever homes. Wild babies are NOT free, they each have an adoption fee. However they do come with a free starter box.

The Nesting Boxes is where you go to breed your pets. You may breed your own pets or breed with another user, if you wish to breed with another user you must have their PERMISSION before you Reserve a Nesting Box.

Before you can breed you must Reserve a Nesting Box and purchase a Love Berry! You are responsible for finding all offspring a proper home, if any offspring are not given a home by the time they are ready to leave the Nesting Box they will be given to the Sanctuary . Only ONE breeding per Month. Staff and Island Elite may breed TWICE per Month

This month's activity is a Community Garden. Carefully tended by Ricia and BocceF it is finally in full bloom! The Community Garden is free to all Islands Visitors.

To pick something from the garden, pick a number between 1 and 20. Each number corresponds to a certain food item. It can be either a fruit, a vegetable, a piece of meat, a feeder fish, a plant, OR possibly even a berry. Once you pick your three numbers in one week. In July the staff and Ricia will be hosting a special Festival Competition. The exact details of the competition are a surprise, but it will involve two teams competing for a special prize! Don't worry though, even if your team doesn't win you will still recieve a participation prize. Welcome to Tortugas Islands Tours Ticket Booth this is where you reserve your ticket for the Tortugas Islands Tours. The tickets are free to all Islands Visitors, however there are a few guidelines to go over first.

Ticket Guidelines

⓵ Only ONE tour at a time.
⓶ Follow Shop Rules
⓷ Repeat customers go to bottom of the waiting list
⓸No more than 3 tours per month; Staff get 1 tour per month
⓹ All Tour Participants must place the name of their Tour Boat in their posts.

There are four different tours offered at Tortugas Islands Tours: the Land Lubber Tours & the Seafarer Tours & Scenic Tour Bundle & Exploration Tour Bundle

The Land Lubbers tour is for those people who are not comfortable on the water and would rather a calm and gentle experience.
[This role play is for novice/beginner role players ONLY]

If you would like to join the Land Lubbers tour please pick up your ticket and board the El Soñador shuttle to the Floating Dock.

The Seafarers tour is for those people that already have their sea legs and are game for a more adventurous tour.
[This role play is for experienced role-players ONLY]

If you would like to join the Seafarers tour please pick up your ticket and board the El Explorador shuttle to the Floating Dock.

The Scenic Tour: This tour is a month long excursion to each of the Islands, with a trip through the Tortuga de Arrecifes included. Each tour comes with your own personal Fire-Cat mini boat, a map of the islands, a digital camera, and free picture development on the Floating Dock.
[In this tour you must draw a picture of either yourself OR your pet at each of the four islands and doing a themed activity. ex. for the spring festival draw yourself planting a garden.]

The Exploration Tour: This tour is a month long excursion to each of the Islands, with a trip through the Tortuga de Arrecifes included. Each tour comes with your own personal Panda Express mini-sail boat, a travel journal, and an island map.
[In this tour you must write a story OR poem about yourself OR you pet visiting each of the Islands and doing a themed activity. ex. for the spring festival write a story about planting a garden.]

Remember there is a limited amount of space available for each tour; you must reserve your ticket before the Tour begins. Islands Tours are 5 days long and run Monday-Friday. Self-Guided Tours are month long excursions and run from the beginning of the month until the final week of the month. The final week of the month no tours run due to scheduled Maintenance for the Tour Boats & Mini Boats. If you sign up for the Self-Guided Tours please remember that there are only 3 of each Tour Bundles available.
