Rodney nodded politely in turn to her greeting. He smiled, he didn't know how he would keep a straight face whilst Melody was dressed and talking like this. He had to try though, Rodney wiped the grin off his face, raked a hand through his tatty hair and coughed slightly. Rodney was definately no actor, but now that he was allowed to join in with action, he was going to try his hardest to make it work. Rodney looked down at himself, he was scruffy enough already to pass as a street urchin. "Me mam's sick at home, but we don't have the money to pay for her," Rodney said, trying to get into the role. He was trying so hard, the concentration clear on his face.

"Perfect," said Melody with a smile, breaking out of character to clap her friend on the back, then grab him by the wrist and start to pull him towards the gangplank. "Oh, wait," she said, pausing to pull off her shoes. Then she ran down the gangplank, letting go of Rodney to head over to a patch of dirt and muck. She rubbed her feet in it, making them seem filthy. "People judge your cleanliness by your feet," she said to the boy. "Most people see grubby feet and instantly think 'street urchin.' Easiest trick in the book."

Rodney nodded, then looked down at his already mucky feet. He was wearing sandals, but they were falling to pieces, Rodney didn't really need to do much to his clothing. He looked quite the part, scruffy hair, scrawny, skinny body, grubby feet. Rodney smiled, "What shall I do?" he asked, looking down at himself, seeing if there was anything he could do to make himself look even more poor and urchin-like.
Ingo smiled at Liam and followed him.

"I think you look enough like a street kid already," said Melody with a grin. "Come on, let's go to town. This is the biggest part I've had in a while- besides pretending to be a rich duchess and stealing a dress. Now that was fun."
Sonja nodded at him, but didn't speak further. She simply continued to weave, stopping to sneeze when the thatch tickled her nose.
Liam grinned and led Ingo down to town, looking at each of the food vendor's carts in turn, searching for something that smelled good.

Rodney smiled at her, "It sounds fun except the dress part," Rodney said, acting seemed really enjoyable, but there was no way you'd catch him near a dress.
Ingo too looked, this was a completely new experience to her, she knew of course what everything was, but she had only ever been able to steal it, never enough money for a street girl to actually buy something.

[Aww, I wish you could -o-]
"Well, you won't have to wear a dress," said Melody with a laugh. "But now that you mention it..." The young woman grabbed Rodney's wrist and started tugging him towards a nearby shop. It wasn't actually the tailor's, but rather a small eating house. The same one that Liam and Ingo were heading towards, actually. The sign read, "The Cat's Meow," along with the image of a black cat painted on the sign.
