if i understand correctly:
if your halfblood has a human parent and an original parent, they have a 1/4 chance of having the ability to shift at all.
if they have an original parent and a parent that was turned(human by birth, but now a werewolf), they have a 2/5(40%) chance of having the ability to shift at all.
consider the werewolf gene a recessive trait i guess? just because they have a werewolf parent does not mean they are guaranteed to show the gene. so i'm not sure what you mean by 50/50?
i assume only children of 2 originals would have a 100% chance of showing the gene.
