Oh, they tell me everything will be okaythe sound of footfall was heavy as the masses moved under cover of darkness towards their new home, hushed and cautious as
they flew through the undergrowth with a newfound agility. it had been a successful days travel and now the moon had risen it
was time to settle and make camp. A'kri, their leader, travelled ahead scouting for such a place, it was too good to be true wh
en she discovered the perfect camp. It had the lingering scent of cats long gone, with some fresh scents intermingled amongst
the stale, but it was empty and unoccupied. A'kri settled that for the night, this would be the perfect place to rest, occupants
of the forest be damned. Under the silence of the night, however, screams could be heard after most of the cats had settled d
own and it wasn't long before many were scared to live, confined to their dens restless.
JuniperClan had seen them come from the confines of their new home, watching and listening from the distance as strangers
made claim to their land under cover of nightfall. They need not act, however, because the silent night, for once, played into
their hands. Come morning they begin their tentative reclaiming of their territory. Silent as they watched from afar, these we
ren't the first lost souls to stumble onto their territory, they wouldn't be the last either. discussionWell, I wanna be the hunter not the hunted──────────────────── I wanna be the killer not the prey!!─

JuniperClan Information;
the clan is a secretive one, living by a code of silence towards outsiders. they slip through the undergrowth with thick pelts that keep them safe from the snares of the plants they live under. they don't like outsiders and drive out 'ferals' with an iron fist. the sanctity of their bloodline is held high but they aren't uncaring. They are passionate and caring just self-isolating and somewhat selfish.
Faith in starclan is held very close to the heart of JuniperClan, a strong faith in their ancestors equals a strong faith in the clan. To not believe would be a huge betrayal. It's the faith in starclan which allows their two heirs to exist in harmony despite the fact that only one of them will likely become the leader. When the death of the current leader grows close, or one heir proves themselves exceptionally worthy an omen will appear to appoint one heir the heir apparent. Currently, there is no heir apparent.
Their ranks follow the usual patterns for clans, except instead of warriors they have assassins and hunters and they have two heirs. assassins are fighters, sneaking, gathering information and disposing of threats without hesitation. hunters are as their name would imply, the providers of their clan. apprentices have two mentors, one hunter and one assassin until they find their calling. by their 8th moon an apprentice will have a second ceremony where they choose which profession they want to train to become.
While the newcomers to the lake aren't sure what has befallen their clan-mates, juniperclan is very well aware of the threat. Owls moved into their territory a generation ago, by the dozen and prey on any cat that strays out at night, prompting them to give up their old camp in favour of the cave system they now occupy.

Wanderer Information;
The Wanderers are a group of loners and kitty-pets, originally from the alleys of a far away city. They banded together and lived in harmony with others cats for some time, only fleeing when the buildings they resided in were destroyed to build a new hotel.
They've been travelling ever since, roaming from one place to another, not quite sure how they want to live their lives but content that eventually somewhere will sing of home the way their alley did.
The previous night the providers, june, li'aa and sunny guarded the camp and have all since been found dead or are missing. There was quite a raucous outside but the strange sounds prevented the rest of the wanderers from interjecting, instead choosing to stay in cover. None of them knows that it was an owl attack to blame.
Despite the danger A'kri has chosen to bury their dead before continuing on and to hold vigil for their loss, even if it puts them at more danger.

lake-the lake is open and expansive, running deep with rich prey resources and fresh water.
mountain-ranging from the lake all the way to its peak the mountain is covered in dips, caves, ledges, cliffs. All the way along its face are patches of pine trees. Scaling the mountain is made easy by human made trails which cut ways up and down it's face. However these trails are dangerous for the humans who occassionally scale them. The clan has learnt their own secret paths up and down it's face, wheter it be walking up the easier slopes, scaling ledges along cliffs and journeying through caves.
marsh-the marsh is the product of a long drought that lowered the level of the water, the richness of the earth has lead to a thriving marsh along with plenty of natural birdlife. The land has since stabalised and while the water hasn't dropped it also hasn't risen.
clearing- [former training ground] along the water's edge is a clearing where the ground is covered in tree roots from a dead lookout tree. Slightly elevated from the water this proves to be the perfect area for training and marks along the dead lookout tree signify how heavy the cat life had once been in the area.
mountain clearing-[current training ground] the mountain clearing is where the youth of the clan are now trained, despite the dangerous fall which has broken bones before it is where JuniperClan has chosen to prove the worth of their apprentices. The only guard against the fall is a series of large rocks which have been lined up as a railing. The earth underfoot is a mixture of grass and plain stone.
clan camp- home of the great juniperclan, leading from a crack in the wall next to the training ground tunnels go deep into the earth. It is quite the maze and as cats under 10 moons aren't allowed to leave camp without supervision as getting lost can be quite dangerous. the tunnels to the camp lead upwards and it is easy to tell when you've arrived by the tunnels lightening up. A crack overhead of the camp gives a sense of day and night- as well as the ability to see.LEADER & HEIRS
leader's and heirs occupy a ledge beside the skylight, the leaders sleep on a slightly more elevated ledge than their heirs. This place to nest was chosen due to the pressure during their early change in camp to keep members inside at night- to prevent more losses to the owls.
MEDICINE
trailing off from the camp through a tunnel that leads upwards is the medicine cat den, it's easily noted as the brightest den in the camp with the best view. herbs are stored in inlets in the walls with many spaces for nests. letting in all the light are two smalls windows naturally formed that lead into the outside world. from the view, you can see the lakes, trees- even the distant two-leg settlement.
ASSASSINS
assassins and their apprentices occupy part of the camp's cavern that is easily visible from the prey spot. this was chosen to give an easy reaction time to anyone who may choose to invade their home camp.
HUNTERS
hunters and their apprentices occupy a den made from a long spacious tunnel that leads downwards. During heavy rainfall water from the skylight, the hunter's den can get quite wet, during that time they will move into the assassins den or elders den. It takes time and energy to empty it out but it's become an easy routine.
ELDERS & QUEENS
elders, queens and undecided apprentices all sleep in the tunnel that offshoots from the one the hunters own, it, however, leads back upwards and around the assassins den.
abandoned camp- rundown and dilapidated, it's very similar to the old thunderclan camp from the books. The dens are all filled with dried nests that are almost gone and in the centre of camp is the skeletons of some dead prey. All in all, there are five dens of varying sizes and one musty den with some very dried husks of herbs.
lookout- only accessible from the tunnel system, the lookout is the highest tunnel system entrance possible and assassins often are posted up there to serve as lookouts. Only those with the best eyesight end up there regularly and it was thanks to one of these assassins that the wanderers were spotted. It's got a nice view although it also has a dangerous fall.
mountain caves- there are small caves all over the tunnel system, with entrances all over the place.
flooded caves- all tunnels downward eventually lead to the flooded caves and the fabled starpool. it's considered a romantic place as crystal formations are lit up by glowing by strange glowing lights. when they first moved into the cave there was a lot of stress that their ancestors would be able to reach them but regardless the medicine cats have had no trouble speaking with the dead.
flower fields- upwards from the marsh lies the flower fields, a field filled with beautiful flowers that bloom during spring and summer. hares and ground-nesting birds flourish in these fields and due to the height of the plant growth, it is one of the hunting grounds the cats don't share with the owls.
forest- everywhere else- a mixture of pine and other trees scatter the land, squirrels, hares, birds- almost any prey you can think of rests here, however hunting is mostly done by the owls and the clan cat's understand this. the prey is thinner here and more cautious due to how overzealous the owls are.
owl camp- in a large dead tree higher than most sleep the owls that haunt juniperclan's territory. no cat is to ever go near.

⟡A’KRI
molly . fifty-nine moons . wanderer leader . abandoned camp w/ general group
⤷ The dawn light had begun shining and only then had A'kri felt comfortable to slowly slink out of the musty den she had spent the night in. The middle of the night had woken most with startled screams and the large figures she had spotted outside caused her to call out in alarm for everyone to hide. It had been a new moon and all she had been able to see was figures moving. It was until all the shouting and screams had subsided and silence had fallen that she'd suggested getting some rest- to talk about what had just happened in the morning. They didn't have the energy to go about making a fuss now- she most definitely didn't. Her small body was tired enough as it was without this added stress so she rested. The first flicker of sunlight had awoken her and now she stood. In the middle of this makeshift camp scared but holding herself together while looking over the body of sunny- the only one of the guards who's body was visible. She put her nose to his pelt, muttering her own little good-bye; but mostly an apology.
Sunny, June, Li'aa, they had all been on guard and she'd heard the voices. She shook her head. Sunny had been a bouncing tom with an affinity for other toms. A kind soul who did his best for everyone, even if he was a little be naive he gave love and kindness to all he could. June was a mother to young Mzia and it was only just dawning on her now that she would have to break that news to her now orphaned daughter. Then there was Li'aa, a lifelong friend of A'kri who had seen her through everything- all of these losses weighed heavy on her heart. Still, in spite of this- they couldn't move on yet, they had dead to mourn, mouths to feed and to A'kri while filled with guilt was beginning to feel ill again. Standing up from Sunny's body she looked around for a perch, somewhere she could get the attention of her family- call about a meeting to try and explain the plan. [363]
☘ YARROWNOSE
tom . thirty-five moons . juniper hunter . camp w/ birchpaw, seedblossom
⤷ Knowing when morning light came about was a skill for the hunters- their den so hidden from the rays of sunlight. The internal clock you built overtime was something trained from the time you started your journey hunter apprentice to the day you take your oath and receive your true name. So slowly and clumsily YarrowNose awoke, a small tingling feeling in his mind that now was the time, opening his eyes seeing the bland dark walls of the camp he felt his heart drop- same place, same day, same story. From memory, he lightly walked across the cave floor, stepping hesitantly to avoid stepping on cats as he made his way towards his young apprentice and nudged him, "wake up," was the only thing he said before hurrying upwards headed through the den owned by the Elder's and Queen's. He slowed down once more as he walked past more sleeping figures. Slowly stepping over figures he could only see the silhouettes of until suddenly the area around him began to light up once more. The tunnel becoming clearer as he approached their camp. He stretched out blinking rapidly as he adjusted to the light. He sprawled forwards onto the floor of their camp, still shaking off the sleep from his mind. It would serve him well to have just a few moments of peace and quiet before the morning rush came about. It would appear, however, that one soul was already up and about. SeedBlossom approached quietly surprising him with a sudden half pounce. Her voice was sharp behind him and his ears immediately fell to the side of his skull. "Morning MellowNose, you won't believe the news I have to tell you!" SeedBlossom practically shouted, she stopped only for a chance to breathe, at which point YarrowNose got in the only word he would be able to at the rate the assassin usually talked, "Leave me alone." He did his best to let his mild annoyance come across, mostly because of the name the young assassin had taken to calling him. It wasn't a nickname of her own invention, it had been the name her former mentor- his brother had called him up until the day he died. "So you wouldn't believe it, I heard it from TwistedBranch on the shift change and it's not official but we've got company! I bet HornetStar will have a huge announcement on how hunting is changing and setting up the way more fun hunt," YarrowNose's interest peaked and he sat up, "wait how many visitors?" But before any more information could be given SeedBlossom was off chasing the next person she found interesting and YarrowNose was left huffing out in mild annoyance. [451]
⚘ SEEDBLOSSOM
molly . ninteen moons . juniper assassins . camp w/ yarrownose, hornetstar, aspenspark, squirreldust
⤷ Midnight, to early morning watch from the lookout, she'd be told by TwistedBranch about the owl attack on some newcomers during the night who had taken up residence in their abandoned camp. She watched all night but it had been TwistedBranch who had seen everything and while she had been rather brattish about it towards him when he had told her deep down she was glad- so very glad that she hadn't seen it. Death itself had always been too much for her to handle, it why she was a terrible assassin. She could fight so very well but taking another life just wasn't her. As the sun rose it meant the time for night watch was over, now lookout was optional- something mentors would do with their apprentices until night rolled around and two cats would be chosen for the lookout, one from dusk to midnight and one from midnight to dawn. Knowledge was everything afterall and as far as outsiders should be concerned- JuniperClan didn't sleep. Strolling and hoping down the tunnels, winding through paths that she'd roamed since her apprenticehood SeedBlossom eventually came to their camp, letting out a muted yawn. Already awake was YarrowNose, her deceased mentor's brother. Looking at him was like a knife in the chest- the two were practically identical and she wholeheartedly blamed herself for the accident that killed BerryStripe. It was that guilt that motivated her to sneak up on YarrowNose and halfheartedly tackle him before running her mouth. "Morning MellowNose, you won't believe the news I have to tell you!" She was overzealous in her volume and projected happiness, she wanted to remind him that he was in someone's thoughts and despite his protest, she continued speaking. "So you wouldn't believe it, I heard it from TwistedBranch on the shift change and it's not official but we've got company! I bet HornetStar will have a huge announcement on how hunting is changing and setting up the way more fun hunt!"
Just as quickly as the conversation started she felt the guilt to heavily and looked for something anything to get her attention away from how YarrowNose's eyes would twist into the dead glossed over look BerryNose had on the night of his vigil. She ran off rather too quickly towards the nests that the heir's and leader shared. Looking to see if they had woken up yet. [397]
