Silent Offerings

Walking towards the light, you see a candle lit altar with a headless wolf covered in overgrown weeds and plants.
As you approach the altar, bats fly out of the tree behind the wolf.
The wolf has white fur, but certain parts of its body has become stone. You cannot tell if it is a sculpture or living being.
In front of it seems to be offerings of gold and a skull.
What do you do?
