Can't find people's original posts

So, it's probably a simple fix or something but I can't seem to figure it out, I am not that active here or really used to forums in general so maybe I am just not familiar with how it works, but.. I don't know.
So, I've been in the free adoption section lately and some threads I'll click on and notice the original post is not at the top? I need to be able to see what rules the user has set but trying to find the first page doesn't seem to work, the first post that shows up is usually a "bump" post and it doesn't go any farther. I could go to the profile of the person who started the thread and search their posts, and if I find the original post and click on it, it still brings me back to a repost on the first page with the original post no where to be found. I feel like I am missing something simple though.. lol

Go to "edit display options" on the left. Are the two last things set to "all topics" and "all posts"?

Oh no.. turns out they were set to "one month" haha. Well this explains it.. oops. Sorry to be a bother, and thank you!
