So can you only play as a boy in Let’s Go Pikachu? I think we should be able to decide our genders.

I assume you get to pick, the male character is probably just the ones used for trailer footage/screenshots :0c (otherwise itd be silly to limit player gender to a specific version that has the exact same content otherwise aside from starter)

No, you can decide your gender, it's just for their way of showing off both characters and both Pokemon - by "assigning" one to each game in some of the promo materials (for example, "Moon" was a girl and "Sun" a boy, but you could choose whatever gender for your playable character in those games, and so on)
Though, there's a nice chunk of screenshots and art that show the pairings the other way round

Meltan generates electricity using the metal it absorbs from outside sources. It uses this electricity as an energy source and also as an attack that can be fired from its eye.

Clearly a curious Pokémon, Meltan is very expressive and shows an interest in all kinds of things.

Mysterious Pokémon GO Sightings
Many reports have come in about sightings of Ditto in Pokémon GO that have transformed into Meltan. The number of sightings has significantly decreased over the past few days, but it appears these "Meltan" are still appearing in various areas.

Research is being conducted on these appearances of Meltan, but we have learned that Pokémon GO is somehow key to meeting this curious new Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! We’ll be sure to provide updates as we discover more!

The design has started to grow on me though, and I'm so excited to learn more information about it~
