xxx"fine." was the one thing that kino had said in return to yixing. of course, it couldn't be told for sure that it was overall the truth. he was still shaken from youngjae's entrance before, and overall a little concerned about what'll happen with the slytherin he had accidentally bumped into before. eunhae had apologized for what he had done, but that didn't make him feel any less anxious about the entire situation. kino glanced at alex, who had placed himself beside him, and nodded in understanding to his statement. he had to take the o.w.l.s this year-- and genuinely, the entire ordeal freaked him out. he knew that they wouldn't be coming up for a while, but he still couldn't help the feeling of being unprepared for the test and failing it completely. though, the entire thought of the n.e.w.t.s at the end of his seventh year at hogwarts proceeded to cause him more anxiety than it should have for someone in the fifth year. the gryffindor gazed down at his ferret, stroking his head slightly as he curled in the palm of his hand.

xxx"idiot? yixing we both know i'm far smarter than you'll ever be, so can it." the insult was accompanied by a smile, only to get insulted back. snorting, she tucked her book away and looked at alex. she honestly saw what he was getting at. most people at hogwarts weren't the most approachable. and even if they were, much like kino (who appeared to be really approachable, especially as a gryffindor with such soft features) they would turn people away and tell them to go off somewhere else. mika couldn't even blame alex for much of why he wasn't social. she wasn't the most social, however, she had managed to befriend a couple more people than she intended each year-- especially outside of her assigned house. though, she wasn't too sad about that, she actually enjoyed being able to keep up with those outside of hufflepuff. her attention was soon averted back to the feline, and she began to stroke her softly-- smiling at the light purrs that came from the feline as she did so.

xxxyixing chuckled softly at mika's words, "whatever floats your boat, but i'm still ten times prettier than you'll ever be," he smiled, sending finger guns in her direction as he turned and smiled in alex's direction. the chinese boy didn't pay much attention to quidditch-- he attended the games, but he was never really interested in the sport. the only real reason he even went was to support either kino when gryffindor was playing, ji-hoo when slytherin played, and alex when hufflepuff played. if one happened to play against the other, he simply stayed quiet half he time in fear of getting into trouble for going for the rivaling team. he furrowed his eyebrows, "who even is the hufflepuff quidditch captain this year?" he asked curiously, "i thought he graduated and went to..." he waved his hands slightly, "wherever he went. if he even graduated."

xxxji-hoo only nodded along to his words. of course he understood where he was coming from. even he, himself, hated being ignored-- he hated it. his eyes lifted to the slytherin prefect, and he dipped his head in a greeting, but then furrowed his eyebrows at the not-so-kind greeting that she offered him. though, instead of interfering, he kept his mouth shut as the two exchanged words. as soon as lee-jae had insulted her, he went to speak-- but was soon cut off as soon as eunhae cut in as well. furrowing his eyebrows in irritating, he folded his arms over his chest rather than actually trying to cut in. and when he did, eunhae was already going to spit things out at lee-jae. closing his eyes as he released a breath, he finally placed a hand on eunhae's shoulder and nudged her back slightly, cutting the two slytherins glares. "that is enough, both of you." he snapped, "you're setting bad examples for any and all future slytherins as it is, knock it off." he turned to look at lee-jae, "there isn't anything wrong with defending a gryffindor, nor being friends with one," he turned towards eunhae, "you of all people know that this is far from the way to address an issue. if you don't watch your tone with others, min eunhae, you're going to get yourself into trouble and i wont be there to pull you out of it. same goes for you, lee-jae, do the two of you understand me?" he looked between the two, glancing up at the other who had joined in on the conversation, nodding in his direction as he waited for the other two to respond to him.

He hesitated for a moment. "Rowan." He acknowledged the Hufflepuff, then slid by him, rather than shoving him aside like he would if any other student that was not Slytherin had been in his way - regardless of whether or not the Head Boy or a Prefect was there, watching.

Though he was still reading, and had settled into quite a calm state of mind, he was thrown out of it when he heard the sudden soft snap of a book being closed. Skylar glanced up on instinct, towards Professor Roesing, somewhat confused, his eyes being drawn towards the small tome that the Professor was holding. He wasn't sure if he should say anything, or ask what had happened. But then, the Professor seemed to almost stumble towards the door to the compartment, and lean on the frame. Well, he certainly couldn't stay silent now, even though he was growing more concerned and terrified. Skylar closed his book, and set it aside, before asking, quietly, "Professor? What has happened?"

xxxxrowan dipped his head in acknowledgement to jihoo and then turned to watch as lee-jae slipped past him. he tried to speak, but all that came out was a soft hum of what was supposed to be the slytherin chaser's name. he hoped his eyes conveyed his apology for butting in, although even rowan himself didn't know which of the three he was saying sorry to. shaking his head and forcing his eyes off lee-jae's retreating back, he realized he had to still finish his first objective. "um," he glanced past the two remaining slytherin's in search of it; bathroom. he unconsciously took his bottom lip into his mouth and played with the silver ring in his lip before he forced his gaze to flicker to jihoo and then eunhae. ".. bathroom.." wincing as he realized he made little sense, he shook his head and muttered to himself in korean before continuing. "i mean, do either of you know where the bathroom is?"

"Eunhae's taking awfully at the bathroom, I think I might go check on her." he said, frowning.
"What, so you check on her and not me?" Jinwoo complained, before waving his joke off and Youngjae only grinned, "You aren't the young one now though, are you?" Getting up, he waved at Ren and Jinwoo, giving Kion a wink and salute before he stepped out of the carriage and closed the door. Exhaling, he turned around and stopped when he saw Eunhae and Ji-hoo, but Eunhae's aura was not of a happy one. He stepped forwards, resting his hands on her shoulders.
"Hey, you ok?" he whispered, giving her shoulders a squeeze before looking at the Slytherin Head boy.
"I'm fine. Just fine." she had said tiredly, but it didn't seem like her irritation was directed at him.
"Ok ok, come on, let's go. Oooffff we go. Come on. Come on." he cooed, slowly pushing her past Ji-hoo, "Didn't you say you were going to the toilet?"
He didn't know what had happened but he only gave the Slytherin Head Boy a warning look before he turned back to Eunhae and kept nudging her.

Skylar's eyes widened at the Professor's look, but he steeled himself again. He was not leaving this compartment - if not because he was scared to in the first place, but also because he was concerned that Professor Roesing might not actually be okay.
"Skylar Vance, Professor," he introduced himself, as instructed, his tone quiet and a little nervous. He watched the Professor a little warily. Then, at the question, Skylar answered, "Oh, I just love Herbology..." he hesitated for a moment, then looked slightly embarrassed, as he chose to continue, for the subject was one of a few things that got him to talk, "Though I don't tend to work quite like other students... last year, for example, the Fanged Germaniums needed repotting, which my year did, but they did not like being handled, so they were quite fierce and kept attempting to bite the student handling them roughly. But I spent more time calming it and reassuring it, rather than forcing it." He blushed, embarrassed after speaking.

Eventually, he found one, which had a couple of First-Years in it. He scowled to them as he pulled open the compartment door. "You need to move. There's more of your First-Years in a compartment nearby that you can join." xxxjust as lee-jae stalked off, and eunhae had shrugged off his hand, he took a step back. he wasn't mad-- well, that mad, anyway. of course he was mad. he didn't like seeing slytherins on the verge of ripping each others heads off because of a small disagreement, let alone something as petty as this. he went to go say something to eunhae, apologize for his anger, even, but he had been cut off as soon as youngjae walked up behind her. he snapped his mouth closed, his top teeth hitting his bottom with a soft clunk, and he locked his jaw. he was always getting interrupted. he turned his head towards rowan and he nodded his head softly towards the male, offering him a soft smile before he looked at youngjae with an arched eyebrow. what on earth had he even done to either of them? all he had done was prevent a stupid, petty fight between two people in his house. when youngjae pushed eunhae forward, past him, he grabbed the girl's wrist softly, gaze soft. "don't waste your energy on him, kitten. he'll learn, eventually." he told her softly, releasing her wrist before he glanced at youngjae, shaking his head softly. jihoo turned and looked at rowan and nodded his head softly, offering him another smile before he gestured for him to follow, "bathroom's this way," he said, turning to begin walking, glancing over his shoulder to make sure other was following.

"You're right that he left last year, but he left some notes for the new captain, who is being chosen this year, and he told me he would write that down, so... I'm screwed anyways," Alex replied to Yixing, smiling a bit.
He took out a tin of treats for Amber from one of the many pockets in his robe, and handed one to Mika. "You can feed Amber this. Don't tease her with it, though, because she might try to kill you for it. She probably likes you more than she likes me, though," he told her.
He then tucked away the tin, and got out his little box of chocolates he had bought from a Muggle store, and popped one into his mouth. Alex loved chocolate, and he was lucky that he stayed skinny and exercised, since he consumed so much. He held out the box, a silent gesture asking if anybody wanted some. He had read online once that a good way to make friends was to offer people food. Plus, he was a generally nice person.

xxxxkion nodded in a short response. his mind was scrambling for something to say to keep everyone talking. his eyes trailed after youngjae as he exited to find eunhae. he glanced out the window but didn't really recognize where they were. replying (a little too late) he said, "oh, you've been friends a long time then." shuffling his feet and stretching, he was careful not to kick anything. anyone. anycat. whatever. "at least he was out and about. i was always wasting time oogling at the quidditch players while they practiced. other than the few times he'd been chased away under the impression that he was a 'spy', he actually was normally welcome. no one really questioned the obsession, although the 'scardey cat' thing had started due to someone on the slytherin team. kion always took care not to be spotted if he watched their practices lest he get teased.

xxxxrowan's eyes had flickered back to lee-jae, who had just chased a bunch of first years out of a compartment. they seemed confused but eventually went into the next one over. maybe rowan could ask to sit with him..? it seemed like an odd idea, but the other quidditch player always seemed to give the hufflepuff an almost childish curiosity. in fact, rowan was pretty certain lee-jae had never even tried to set him off course in quidditch. but then again, the slytherin was a chaser, not seeker or even a beater. pretending he wasn't just openly staring down the slytherin, rowan hurried to catch up to jihoo, darting past eunhae and her gryffindor friend (something-jae). his mumbled thanks was nearly stolen by the rattling of a loose compartment door when he finally caught up, gaze trained on the ground as he followed. "sorry for including myself," he said half-halfheartedly, shoes scuffing the ground just before he spotted the bathroom.
