Kiamora watched with large blue eyes as Esperanza approached. She held a saddle. That wasnβt what Kiamora wanted- sheβd had a bad nightβs sleep and wasnβt in the mood for being ridden. When her rider opened the stable door, she rushed out, ran out of the building a d stopped when she felt the soft touch of snow on her nose. Spreading her wings, Kiamora stood still and hummed with pleasure as she felt the flakes land on her scales. Most of them froze when they touched her, creating thick plates of ice armour. Kia used her icy breath to freeze the ground and started sliding around, mocking the poses human ice skaters made. Her saddle landed on her back, though she barely felt it through her frozen coating. Resigned to her fate, she shook her wings and walked back into the building. After all, her rider couldnβt
make her go flying. So she was back in her stable with plenty of ice around the edges, watching the events around Shinefire play out.

Esperanza walked over to Kiamoraβs stable, treading cautiously and holding her saddle tightly. She could tell that Kia was cranky- she had that look about her- and she had been known to snap, so she was very careful. When she opened the stable door, Kia barged past, knocking her to the ground. Esperanza had managed to keep hold of the saddle, so it was okay. She hadnβt broken any bones and wasnβt even remotely hurt. Following Kia, she found herself outside, where Kia was dancing in the snow and looking silly. When she was sure Kia was distracted, she put the saddle on her. That was when everything went downhill. As soon as she was on Kiaβs back, she began walking back into the stables. Esperanza sighed. She had no control over the powerful dragon, and Kia knew it. So she bedded her down again, refreshing her bedding of ice before continuing with her chores.
