overall personality;; flora is a classic cattle dog: bred to work. she is an incredibly loyal dog that always follows directions and finishes what she started. if you can gain her trust, she will stand behind you no matter what. she is extremely energetic and can work, run, and hunt for hours on end, even if she is tired. getting work done is no problem for her. for dogs who have never met flora before, she is very threatening. she doesn't show any sign of friendliness or hospitality, rather giving everyone the cold shoulder. her sarcasm isn't necessarily the friendly joking type, and is usually aimed to hurt. dogs who show no drive to work and laze around get on her last nerve, and she can tend to snap very easily when around dogs like that.

backstory;; flora was born and raised on a cattle and sheep farm with her six siblings. their breeder had a few cattle dogs and bred them to sell, only keeping the best of the best to be herding dogs and to breed in the future; and flora was one of those. she was the prized puppy, the favored one among their breeder and her mother. this caused her siblings to dislike her, as she was always getting extra attention and goodies. except rosie, the runt of the litter. her and flora were like two peas in a pod, they loved each other. even as the five other pups showed their distaste of flora, rosie stuck by her sided. but, like all the other pups, she too was sold to another family. only flora was left.
she was upset at first, but her mother and father taught her to be strong, and when she began going on herding expeditions with the adults, she soon forgot all about rosie, and only focused on her new job. flora was a fabulous herding dog, she learned quickly, didn't get distracted, and was incredibly efficient. a couple years went by, and her mother and father had both retired, and she was the lead herding dog. but soon, her owners were going to find a stud to breed flora to, to pass on her amazing work ethic. but, just a few weeks before, when she was out on a solo herding trip, a man came up to her. at first she ignored him, continuing to herd, but eventually he caught her. flora didn't remember much after that.
