Favorite type of RP: Fantasy are my favorites. I don't like plotless ones though.
Sample of writing:

Sonja felt as large as a small whale, wrapped in the expensive furs she had found in the old wardrobe.
The cold fingers of winter still reached through her coverings, no matter what she wrapped herself in.
She had been sitting there all day, trying to be warm, and not suceeding.
Imapaitently, she rose at last and threw off her blankets, keeping one draped over her shoulders.
She walked briskly down the hallways, in hopes that movement would warm her.
Choosing the hallway she thought would lead her to the library, she glanced around cautiously.
Even though she had been here for a while now, she was still somewhat frightened of the beasts.
Added to that was the fact she was uncomfortable with the other girls, the royalty.
After she got out of the living quarters, she peered into each room hoping to find the wealth of books hidden behind it.

I honestly never really had much a preference. I guess there's sometimes I'd rather play a female than a male, mainly because I AM female and can therefore play them a bit better in terms of realistic emotions and such, but generally I just go with what the RP needs or the first character that comes to mind.

I've always wondered that too, nice question :3

I started roleplaying both, having one male and one female character in each roleplay. I then started to join roleplays which needed males, and just got into the habit of roleplaying them.
I'm a bit dusty at roleplaying females xD

To answer my own question, I'm begining to think guys are more fun to rp.
I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe because of all my own personal characters, the guys are the most interesting.
Now that I think of it, the guys in my books are usually the best as well. And I like the guys in other books/mangas.
I usually prefer talking to guys than girls as well. Most girls are just too....weird for me.

I'm better at roleplaying males than females. I just find them easier to roleplay, you know, they aren't as emotional as girls. I only roleplay a girl when I think I'm in the mood. x') And ushually they are a bit much. >u>

If anyone remembers the Black Death plauge thing roleplay that I was talking about a while back, I'm going to make two threads, one for animals, and the other for humans. c: I'll have it up probably by next week, I'm in the middle of making a new roleplay.

It's about power hungry people going after angels and demons to go after the power source in both angels and deamons called 'Positive appeal' to gain their powers. They need both an angel and a deamon's Positive appeal to mix both and create a thing called 'Negative appeal.' When ingected with it, it creates like the perfect body. o-o; So they are starting to wipe out most of the immortal's so now both races have to join together and fight the tyrant. b: Oh yeah, and what makes the mortals so powerfull, because 1. they have both positive and negative appeal. 2. Slaves to work. 3. They have more advanced technology. 4. They can make clones. c:

I RP both, though mainly female because my favourite character is female. xD
If I had a favourite male character, I'd play him all the time.
The problem with hving a male character, and one of the reason that puts me off playing them is as soon as you have them, a female character is going to try and date them.
I have no idea why, but that annoys me. xD

Though it is true, but probably because there is a sad lack of male characters puttering around the RPs. (From what I see anyway)

Hmm...gender really has no effect on which characters I like playing the best. :3 I usually draw females, just because guys aren't really at all fun for me to draw. xD They have no curves, and they're hair and clothes are more boring than females'. But since that doesn't really matter in characters I write about, I like to RP both genders. 83 Their history, personality, and how well I identify with them determine how much I enjoy RPing them. |3
