power - electricity abilities- use anything that can conduct electricity to increase the
power of his attack, momentarily paralyze someone, become a walking lightbulb, jay
recharges (heals both fatigue and physically) by absorbing electricity from lightning
and sometimes electricity plants (in emergencies) weaknesses - staying still for too
long, places with no metal or electricity, weapons made from rubber or plastic

personality - jay is seen as an antisocial person and someone who would ignore the
world no matter how much chaos is going on. although he is quiet, he is the complete
opposite online, so that's where he releases all the thoughts. jay is very carefree, he
doesn't like thinking much about anything because he knows it would turn out right in
the end so he doesn't like philosophical questions and will avoid it. jay enjoys freedom
and cannot sit still for very long but unlike the others of his element, he isn't rebellious
or very fidgety. he would only stand up in class and walk around before going back to
sit down. jay also doesn't play pranks, he would sometimes steal some electricity from
the school but only so that the lights would briefly flicker (or a blackout if he's way too
tired)

history - jay was born in south korea but he moved to canada for elementary and grew
up there which he was able to learn english and french. he graduated with the highest
mark in visual arts in his high school and that summer he received the invite from red
moon university. teachers in school usually ignore him because he never participates
but jay still does his homework like the good kid (or sometimes not) he is. he had an
average childhood as he grew up with his cousin who is also an elemental so jay never
really freaked out when he found out about his developing powers.

others - wears metal earrings to help amplify and conduct the electricity (both range
and power) in emergencies, he is paranoid of swimming because he thinks his powers
will get out of hand, jay is also claustrophobic but no one knows why.

and don't call him short or jimmy or he will shock you.

Yes, Jay is currently in dorm 9 by himself, I may make a few more characters today since some RP's aren't as active

Funnily enough sounds like a tv show (The Magicians) and also sounds like a book I've read (Halo by Alexandra Adornetto)

With past experience of this sort of plot twist does cause a bit of drama, exciting yes.
