is there a way to tell what day a cocoon grew on? I missed one, but another grew since then and I don't want to be scammed into trading for one I have, but they all say day 9 on the age so I cant tell

You should wait then.
Even when people label their cocoons, mistakes are everywhere.
I only ever trade for cocoons when I can be absolutely sure (for example if it's the very first cocoon or the last caterpillar at a certain age), otherwise I wait until we see the grown up BW. ^^

Hmm I’ll probably do that, but perhaps it would be a good idea to somehow label the cocoons. Maybe a colored spot or aome design that helps people know which is which

I usually wait till the bw are grown, I got scammed by the wrong pet, so..not doing that again. Lol
