hey! this is gonna be more of a rant/asking for advice since I'm not sure what to do. we live in a neighborhood where there's a LOT of stray cats. we feed as many of them as we can outside with regular cat food but there's some we take indoors. we currently have around 10 indoor cats because it breaks my heart to see kittens outside being neglected by their mothers and underfed and full of parasites and fear. it's kitten season and this week we've taken in four. my parents refused to help me find a TNR organization (I can't really read this country's language) and shelters are full.
I asked the vet about a TNR organization but they're not working right now and are already 'booked' in other neighborhoods for as soon as they're back in buisness.
the huge problem here (besides the over-population) is that my dad doesn't like this many cats. he only likes the one that's his and will call all the others names etc. I try to pitch in as much as I can with feeding them and cleaning the boxes and playing with them and stuff.
I don't know what to do anymore. we're basically running a cat shelter at this point except that my dad's not on board at all. I don't know how to convince him that I'm ready to put the work in to help these cats. I guess I just wanted to let it all out.

Oh my gosh, my Wynnie isn't alone!
Wynnie does the same thing whenever someone sneezes. Even if she's three rooms away, if she hears someone sneezing, you'll hear her meow from the other room.
I think she probably learned it from me saying "bless you" to her whenever she sneezed as a kitten (she had horrible allergies and got sick when she was younger, poor thing). It is really adorable, our guests get a bit of a giggle out of it whenever she does it to them.

Okay, help please ;^;

I have this cat. He really hates me. He's peed on my bed like 5 times in the past moth. I just got a new mattress, and I don't want it to get ruined.
His litter box is almost always kept clean, and he's allowed outdoors, so I'm not sure why he does it. Help?

Is he neutered? Has he been to the vet?
Male cats will mark their territory if they're not neutered. So if he's still intact, he might view your bed as his turf.
If he's neutered, then there's a possibility that he might have something wrong internally that's causing him discomfort. When cats have bladder infections, for example, they won't use their litterbox because they either associate the pain they're feeling when urinating with the litterbox, or because it hurts them to use the litterbox, so they'll find other places to relieve themselves. They may also choose to urinate in areas that their owners frequent as a way to tell them that something is wrong. Definitely have him checked over by the vet.
If neither of these could be the cause, then try keeping your bedroom door closed whenever you're not in the room, if you can. If he can't get to your bed, then he should start using his box again.
If you can't close your door, then you might want to consider getting a different litterbox. Some cats can be picky with their boxes. If they feel it's not big enough, sometimes they just won't use it because it's too uncomfortable for them.

My Fig used to do that when he was a kitten! He stopped a few months ago but used to do it faithfully whenever anyone sneezed. He still 'chirps' whenever there are loud noises though.

not quite the same, but my cat chirps when she hears birds, trying her best to mimick the sounds. I've held out a few conversations with her, too; she's very vocal. it might be because usually I'm the only one home with her if anyone's at home at all, or that my family is rooms apart that she doesn't do things like responses to sneezing. But she has caught on to other human things such as comforting me if I'm crying, or meowing back when I say something while looking at her, and she winks back at me if I wink at her. She tried to wiggle her eyebrows once, I think. She recognizes the word "food" as well. We could be talking about what's for dinner and she thinks it's time for her to be fed.

i don't think he hates you. however much like queenie said there may be medical issues ,, but another possibility is the outside itself. are there any strays outside? it's possible that these strays cause him to mark your bed as his.

@kitty_cat_meow_face ahh how cute! what's their name?

@.insecure.
His names sunny!

I actually just remembered a question. Sometimes sunny will sit in the bathtub, and just meow. He doesn't pee in it, and he's fixed, so im just really confused why he does it. Does anybody elses cats do that?
