"May your spirit rest well in Starclan," whispered Dustleaf as she lay next to Fritillarynose. The young tortoiseshell was clearly dying as her breaths were coming out in wheezes and gasps. Soon, there would simply be the silence of death. Dustleaf raised her head to where the stars were out above. I'm doing the best I can, she thought. But I know now that I can't save everyone. Just take good care of her.

There was a sudden silence in the den and the dusty-brown molly tensed. They had buried Carpfang a few days before when she too, succumbed to the illness, and Dustleaf could remember those tortured final moments, filled with an unceasing gasping for breath and scrabbling on the dirt floor of the den. Fritillarynose's death had none of that. The tortoiseshell lay peacefully, an expression on her muzzle that suggested contentment. No, not quite. More...fatalistic. Yes.

"Say 'hi' to dad for me," murmured Dustleaf, nudging the still-warm fur. There was a rustling and she looked up to see Larknose, pale eyes shining in the moonlight. He had been helping her night and day; when he wasn't giving the sick cats herbs, he was looking for them. When he wasn't ensuring that the rest of the clan remained healthy, he was reminding Dustleaf to rest and care for herself. In short, the two of them worked night and day to care for the victims of the plague.

"Is she...?" asked Larknose, his unfinished sentence trailing in the silence of the night.

"Yes," replied Dustleaf heavily. "Her spirit has moved onto Starclan."

Fritillarynose breathed her last. It wasn't all that painful, really. Not as painful as her memories were. Her memories would torture her forever. And so would the Dark Forest, she thought. She felt herself slip and let herself go. She would accept her fate. She deserved it, after all, for having been involved in the murder of several of her clanmates.

Her awareness returned in fits and starts. Oddly enough, there was light that shone through her closed eyelids. She could feel the floor of the medicine cat's den but it was warm. Almost as though it were greenleaf rather than leaf-fall. There was activity somewhere, as she could hear cats talking.

"I got mama!" squealed a kit with delight.

There was a laugh, so painfully familiar. "Stop! Stop!" came a pleading voice. "Your claws are digging into me--hahaha!"

"Hey!" cried the kit.

"Bleakkit got picked up by da-addy," sang another young voice. "Bleakkit got picked up by da-addy."

"This isn't what you expected, is it?" asked Daisywhisker calmly.

Fritillarynose finally worked up the courage to open her eyes and gasped as she saw the ginger tom sitting in front of her. She scrambled back, looking around wildly. Where was she? Was this her punishment? "I don't deserve to be here," she whispered finally. "I should be elsewhere. In...in the Dark Forest. For killing you."

Daisywhisker's tail twitched. So calm, as always. He glanced backwards and when he looked at her again, had a small smile on his muzzle. "You did something wrong, yes," he said, "and if Honeystar had realized, you would have been exiled or executed. But tell me this: if you had the choice, if you had the courage, would you have stayed with the traitor or would you have walked away?"

"Walked away," Fritillarynose said quietly. "No, not just that. If I was a good clanmate, I'd have told Honeystar about what he was planning."

Daisywhisker dipped his head. "We debated for a long time. Some of us weren't sure that you deserved peace. But Snowfoot and I were your biggest supporters. In my final moments of life, I saw what you thought. You didn't want to be a part of it. We watched you for many moons afterwards, and we saw how you volunteered for every assignment, never complained, and tried to be the perfect clan cat. I believed--and still do," he added, "that you were making the best of your second chance. And your reaction proves that I was right. Come," he said, standing up and flicking his tail. "Bleakkit and Sorrelkit will be ecstatic to have someone new to play with."

Weather - Leaf-Fall
Autumn/Fall. Summer melted slowly into Autumn, and now
Autumn melts even slower into winter. In fact, many cats -
particularly the youngest - aren't even entirely sure it's really
Leaf-Fall at all. Since when was Leaf-Fall ever this mild? Yes,
there's been frost, and the leaves really are falling, but it
certainly wasn't this mild the last few years.
Prey - and the herbs so prized for the medicine cats - are
holding out far later than they often do, so that many places
still haven't yet fully lost their summer colours. Predators are
still out and active, too. The one thing that really hasn't
changed is that kittings are still getting harder. Many cats are
relaxing about the winter - how bad can it be? - despite the
warnings from their leaders and medicine cats.

Weather - Leaf-Fall
Autumn/Fall. Summer melted slowly into Autumn, and now
Autumn melts even slower into winter. In fact, many cats -
particularly the youngest - aren't even entirely sure it's really
Leaf-Fall at all. Since when was Leaf-Fall ever this mild? Yes,
there's been frost, and the leaves really are falling, but it
certainly wasn't this mild the last few years.
Prey - and the herbs so prized for the medicine cats - are
holding out far later than they often do, so that many places
still haven't yet fully lost their summer colours. Predators are
still out and active, too. The one thing that really hasn't
changed is that kittings are still getting harder. Many cats are
relaxing about the winter - how bad can it be? - despite the
warnings from their leaders and medicine cats.

LEAF-FALL
A chill starts to creep in the air, signaling the end of Greenleaf and the beginning of Leaffall. As the days become shorter and the skies turn to a dead grey, it's time for the Clans to start working harder and stockpiling prey for the coming Leafbare. Cherish the last few warm breezes that Greenleaf is leaving behind, they won't be around for much longer.

THE WOODLAND

Swift's condition has improved.
Caesar's condition has not progressed but he is still coughing.
It seems Pallas has also begun coughing, as well as Salvatore.

"What makes you think he wants to be rescued?"
The queen gives Lionstar a confused look. "W-what do you mean by that? He's my mate! Of course-"
"Some mate he sounds like," the leader scoffs, circling the nervous molly vulturously. "He was captured by twolegs, and from what you've told me, he's made no efforts to escape." He pauses, inwardly smirking as the molly's eyes show fear and anxiety. "If you ask me, you deserve better than him."
The queen shakes slightly, voice quivering. "H-he's my mate, though! I-I can't just-"
"You can't, or you won't?" Lionstar smiles politely at the molly as she appears to break down, approaching her and murmuring, "What is your name, my dear?"
She eyes him cautiously, giving a pathetic sniffle before responding, "L-Lilac... M-my name is Lilac."
Lionstar grins. "Well then, Lilac," he says, rising to his paws and circling her again, brushing his tail under her chin. "How about we negotiate on this?..."

As Lionstar and the newly-named Lilacstorm return to camp, a rustling is heard from one of the bushes nearby. Lilacstorm freezes in fear, a soft squeak escaping her lips as Lionstar glances over to the bush with mild interest.
Suddenly, a young tom - probably no older than an apprentice - clumsily leaps out of the brush with a battle cry. However, seeing as his back paw got snagged by the brush, he trips and lands face-first on the ground just a little ways away from the two older cats. Lilacstorm, temporarily forgetting her fear, giggles at the young tom, stepping forward cautiously. "Are you alright, dear?"
The tom shakes his head and stands, nodding before declaring pridefully, "I'm Twig, and I'm gonna be a fierce warrior someday!" He puffs out his chest to try and appear larger, but Lionstar looks unamused.
He walks forward and places a paw on the apprentice's head. "Where is your mother?"
Twig's face falls and he rolls his shoulders back into a shrug. Deciding not to press any further, Lionstar gives a heavy sigh and flicks his tail as he continues towards camp. "Come, both of you," he mutters as Twig and Lilacstorm look at each other. "RedClan grows each day, and with it, our ambitions skyrocket. We must prepare for leaf-bare if we are to survive."

A sharp pant came from the overworked medicine cat "Congrats Frostbite, a single molly" Addercloud dragged herself out of the den, tried of all these pregnant queens. Frostbite stared at her single kitten, her gaze held only love for the newborn. She rippled the kittens soft feathery fur, the kitten let out her fiercest mew. Frostbite's tail drew her molly kitten closer to her belly, the molly was having no problem eating. She heard a small shuffle from the entrance and out came a squeakly "Awww", she looked up to see her two older kittens. Hemlockpaw quickly rushed over and stared at her younger sister with awe. Aloepaw was hesitate to approached, his mind filled with thoughts of terrifying the small kitten with his one eyed appearance. His mother spoke up with a "Are you going to meet your sister or not Aloepaw?" she purred. The tom finally came over and watched the kitten like a hawk with his sister.

The kitten curled up closely to her mother's belly, stopping her mewing. Frostbite gently whispered to her older kittens "Come back later, I bet she'll be wide awake by then. She gently leaned up to draw her tongue over her kitten's cheeks, no matter how much they grew she still saw those two tiny kittens that suckled at her belly all those moons ago. The two nearly warriors left the den, trying to find there friends to brag about being older siblings now. "That took a while didn't it FrostBite" the gray tabby molly turned her attention
