Harveyflight blinked open her eyes, embarrassed to find herself curled around Grassypelt. She yawned, stretching her legs as long as they could go in the cramped space. She padded outside, surprised to see that it was already dawn.

Amberstrike was already awake, seeming downer than usual. She had sat next to the fresh-kill pile, her tail curled around her fluffy and bristled fur.

Shinefur slid silently into her mates den, Blackpaw and Willowpaw followed their mother.

Moonflight padded out from the dirt tunnel. He saw Amberstrike looking sad. The tom padded over to her. "What's wrong?"

"You haven't heard?" She kept her gaze down. The loud wail of Willowpaw echoed throughout camp, but soon silenced. The air was tense, unusual for Breezeclan.
