Caspian had gotten in early, the Lietenant wanted to be more than punctual in order to help prepare the area for all the dogs to lounge around. He had fallen asleep in a far corner of the area, his head resting on his paws as he dozed. He awoke as more dogs arrived and the volume of the space rose. Blinking his eyes and stretching himself out, Caspian rose from the grassy corner he had settled in.
With a grumble Caspian stepped out of the corner, his gaze falling to a large figure curled up to his left. He pressed his mouth together tightly, hoping he hadn't bothered the younger dog as he moved in order to observe the 'party'. He was curious to whether the younger members of the team would appreciate this event. His retirement was getting closer and closer, eventually he would just be a house pet - he longed for those days where he could play with the children and join his owners on their days in the office.

Sitting in the car behind Petunia, Oksana was itching to get out and meet with all the other dogs. As they pulled up, Oksana saw Hunter sat in the back of his squad car. She barked in greeting to the other dog before Petunia leashed her up and they were walking through the building to be left out in the training space. She sniffed at the air as they passed through the building, almost tripping Lietenant Chase as he wandered with his sandwich in hand.
Once they reached the fence, Petunia sat against the wall with Oksana next to her. "Now, Oksana, be a good girl." The human said as she pat the large dog's head. Of course I'm going to behave, silly human. "No snapping, no matter how much they climb on you." She wrapped her arms around the big dog who nuzzled her nose into the human's neck in return. "Come on." They pair stood again and walked up to the gate.

Walking quietly alongside her handler, Lilith padded through the building out to the training area. She glanced back over her shoulder to look to Junebug as he walked with his cadet. The get together didn't make a whole let of sense to her when she began to ponder what they were up today, but she could understood part of why the handlers would want to have more of a pack mentality within the dogs that would be working together.
With a huff, Lilith padded away from Samuel into the training area, glancing back briefly to see him joined by his fiancée, Maria and Junebug, but otherwise ignored what went on behind her. She turned her head back to look into the middle of the area, lowering her nose to the ground she sniffed and padded along to see whether she noticed anything of interest - a hidden toy? A dropped treat? Her tail wagged as she approached the tall grass along the fence line, her ears bouncing as she ran up to it. She dug her paws through the grass until she pulled a rope toy out, grasping it into her mouth before flopping down to gnaw on it in silence.

The presence of Lilith ahead of himself made Junebug feel somewhat more confident in the fact that they were doing something that was out of the norm for them. He quietly walked besides Maria, looking up to her as they went along their way towards the outside training area. As she unclipped his leash, Maria patted his head. She slowly shut the metal gate behind him, Junebug glanced between Lilith and their handlers for a moment before realising Lilith was going to just keep walking. Junebug turned to whine as Samuel wrapped an arm around Maria before they walked away from the arena together. The black and tan dog whined as he watched the couple leaving until he could no longer see them, already feeling that he missed her company.
Eventually Junebug stepped away from the fence and glanced around the enclosed area, with a soft sigh he took a moment to wander. He considered whether or not there was anything that held importance to him already happening, but decided he'd rather lounge around to observe for a while. Ignoring the conversation around himself, he considered where to post himself. Slowly Junebug approached a dog that he saw by herself, "Excuse me?" He began in a quiet voice, not wanting to disturb Azoriah's peace for long, "Would it be alright if I sat here?"

maximus quietly trotted behind his handler as they led him through the once confusing and now familiar maze that were the hallways of their workplace. instead of following their usual route, they steered the belgian malinois towards the training grounds, where max could detect the presence of multiple dogs. he didn't really know what to think of 'party', but played along anyways; what was the harm? after all, he'd be able to see his sister, as they worked in different departments and didn't get to see each other often. sure enough, as soon as his officer undid his leash, max spotted andromeda sitting by herself in a corner. eagerly walking towards her, he greeted mia with a warm nuzzle and plopped down beside her. his head turned towards his sister when she spoke and he nodded at her statement before returning his gaze towards the crowd.

mia yawned as she watched the group of mingling canines from her lonely corner. her handler had brought her to work quite early today for this seemingly spontaneous 'party' and the fae wished she could have slept a little longer. her tiredness quickly disappeared when she saw her brother, maximus, heading towards her. greeting him with a friendly lick, andromeda smiled as the belgian malinois settled down at her side. there sure are a lot of dogs gathered here, she barked softly to him, a hint of drowsiness still in her voice.

Abner watched as his sister gave a brief goodbye when Sinclair approached before she trotted off, certainly going to seek out more trouble then she was actually worth. He sighed gently for a moment, "She's going to tear into the wrong dog's hide one day and get what's coming to her." Though spoken aloud the statement was more a thought as opposed to a conversation starter, Athena's aggression got the best of her often which led to problems. She was capable of handling herself and never came out too scarred but he knew that one day she'd come across someone on a bad day with no remorse. He spared a brief glance to Sinclair before actually greeting his fellow officer, "Good morning Sinclair. I suppose you're as excited for this as I am?"

Sherlock noticed the brief change of emotion Zaenzu went through, but he did not comment on it. He was different from most canines, and she needed to understand that. Perhaps being taken from his mother a bit too early in his life caused him to be apathetic, but in a way, it was a good thing. It allowed him to have a level head when it came to certain cases that would pull at the heartstrings of others. "We are all very different." He agreed, giving a small flick of his ear. He gave a small dip of his head at her next comment. "Some canines had to come in and ruin it for everyone, and they are the reason why we are having this party." He responded before shifting his shoulders in a small shrug at her next comment. Their puppyhood may have been nonexistent, but he would not give this job up for the world. "They should not be here then. They can act childish at home, not on duty."

"I am an experienced dog, we're both lead dogs. I──" Before he could continue, he was interrupted by the playful shove by his fellow cadaver canine. He seemed a little surprised, and he gave her a look. "I don't know why you did that but don't do it again." He insisted before he used his hips to bump the female in a somewhat playful manner. He and Watson ended up play fighting whenever they were home, and being the gentleman he was, he allowed her to win. He would seem like the dog who would want to win that sort of thing, but he let the females beat him in play fights because he knows that is what they want.

"We do all the running for them, of course." Watson mused, her tail lightly thumping against the ground. Sure, her human partook in some of the delicious pastries, but she was in good shape. She was constantly training and exercising to be perfectly fit for her position. "Do you know anyone here that would be food aggressive? Sherlock would let me steal his food if I wanted it, and I let the little human pup in our household play with my food. She even eats it with me, but my handler scolds her for doing so. I wonder why I can eat it, but she is not allowed to." She spoke, a slight hum as she considered her own question.

Karma woke up only few minutes later. Karma never had long naps, or naps at all, really. Karma was to worried to would have to wake up and then be too groggy to do her work. Karma stretched and yawned quickly. Looking at the dogs near her, a smooth collie who seemed serious about their job, and a Belgian malinois who also seemed very serious. They both, might not like her sudden presence but Karma decided to but in anyway. That was what this party was about anyway. "Hello," Karma said, her tail waving back and forth. "You guys must be Zaenzu and Sherlock." She said, shifting her paws back in forth in a nervous manner. Karma really isn't the one to b confident and excited all the time. She usually takes things with precaution, unless it was her job, willing to attack anyone who tried to run away with an illegal substance.

Gus stad down, relaxing his haunches. He looked around, liking to see everything that happens. In the corner of his eye, Gus sees a large duck. He whipped his around to look at it, suddenly on high alert. Back at his breeder's place they had him retrieve ducks they'd kill, some still alive, and he was pretty darn good at it. The large duck stopped, staring from behind Ocuil. "Wow, what a strange thing to see in the.. training arena? A large mallard duck." Gus got up, wanting to get it. He restrained himself and looked back at Titanium. She was a fellow retriever, maybe she would understand the instinct. "Did you ever retrieve ducks at your old place? Or have water rescue been yer whole life?" Her warm brown eyes staring at him.

Zaenzu rolled her eyes as the other male spoke, and said," True enough. But not all of us have house-mates, or owners that play with us. But you are correct. There is a time and place." She paused when the male bumped her back. The female snickered and said," And what would you do, if i did it again?" Zae then reached forward and nipped one of his legs, but made sure to sooth any sting with a quick lick. A playful growl rumbled in her chest as she looked up at the collie, she hadn't had a good tusle in a while, and though she was exhausted the need to let out the inner pup in her was great.

He looked at Ocuil, "Oh yeah, the bite, so you can't go straight towards the head, you have to go to the body where the neck isn't flexible enough to bite ya oh and.." Gus caught himself rambling, these dogs were police dogs, not hunting dogs! "I've realized how much nonsense I talk.. it's like I could talk for days." Gus said, stretching his hind leg up to scratch an annoying itch on his neck. "Anyway, awhile ago I found, just swimming, two full beat upoars from a kayak! Who knows where they could've come from, and those poor people can't just float in a kayak in the Pacific Ocean until they reach land. Hopefully we find them soon and save them." Gus got quiet, looking out to the sea, he really cared about people and really hope they were ok.

She didn't knew if it was a question for her, or for Ocuil, but after Ocuil answered it, she answered it too. 'I didn't do it on command, I just do it when they are on my way and I'll bring them to my handler than, but if they aren't in my way, I'll let them do their thing,' she smiled. 'But yeah, I think it's strange such an animal in the bureau, yeah.' She looked from Gus to Ocuil. 'Humans often cause more trouble than dogs do their whole lifes,' she sighed. 'I hope they can stay alive theirselfs, because I don't think we'll find them in time though,' she said.

She was quick to lick at where she had nipped him His tail swayed from side to side as he looked down at the Belgian Malinois. There was a time and a place to play, and right now, it was time to play since he was technically off duty. Returning a playful growl, he aimed to jump on her back and nip at her pointed ears. The male often played with Watson and the young children at home, but there was not much time to play with his fellow police dogs. Why would he? They were always busy, and there was more important things to be done than to play.

She supposed that not many ate unhealthy food all the time, and when they did, they worked it off much like a canine did. She had seen some overweight canines and felines in her time, but she always remained thin and lean. She had to if she was to perform her job well. She gave a nod of her head at his comment. "Well trained dogs know how to share, but I'm sure there are some here that aren't too keen on sharing anything. I do know which treats you're talking about. I get them when I'm training with my handler." She responded before her eyes landed on another canine of their team, the female lead search and rescue dog. "Lilac, hey! How are you?" She barked, giving a small wag of her tail. She knew the Siberian Husky well since they were on the same team.
