I actually use cut up/diced/shredded carrots since they are low-calorie treats. It's not for all dogs, but mine would do anything for the healthy treat.

Just came back from a walk and I thought that I would give a little update on my pupper after about a week of training from the advice that was given. He is responding well to leave it command and is enjoying his loose leash time at the park. His leash pulling has gone down so much since I got him about a year and a half ago. I have not found any time to get him out to the dog park but hopefully soon! He is still barking on leash but it has gone down since the "leave it" command was introduced. Instead of getting him a doggie back pack his task is to carry the holder of bags. It seems to work, but it might just be the leave it command (idk). We had a good walk today. Only barked once at a dog (it was being walked across the street) and then growled twice as we walked on.
and now for some images:

1. On our walk today (he saw a squirrel)
2. On our walk today, enjoying life
3. So this is my pupper earlier in the week right before bed (I love the look on his face)@darkbay - I just use pieces of my dogs dog food (he has dry food) to teach him and it seems to be working. I also use merrick power bites. Hope this helps.

@Taiger: I'm sorry to hear that :( I hope all begins to go well for you. Try to keep calm and remember that one horrible occurrence doesn't mean that more bad things will happen.
_____________
I might know as early as next week which puppy will come home with me! I'm getting excited!
Can any of you help me find a name?
He's a boy and it can't end in "y"/"ee" or "r"/"ar".
I like cool names and older human names from all cultures. I don't want anything common and I prefer unique names!
(Please no "Max", "Charlie", "Leo", "Chance", etc. They are too common.)
Thanks guys!

Thanks for the suggestions!
I like Tripp and Rubix! Maybe there's a name that starts with Ru that could work?
Some other ideas I've had:
Mako
Coyote (Kai)
Sokka

Male names that start with 'ru' and female names that start with 'roo'.
There's also this longer list: here.
They are actually baby names, but I have heard of quite a few dogs called Rusty and Ruben.

Rusty & Ruben are a bit too common for me, but I love Rune! That might being in the running for him!
