I don't think it'd be too confusing. We do have the April Fool's pet "White Sorbet". Also we have a pet named "UR Butterbun" which is actually not a UR!

The white sorbet (a christmas pet, actually) is based off the design of the July 2008 sorbet dog litter (more specifically, their newborn), and the UR Butterbun is named this because its design was taken from the UR Butterfly Wolf^^ That's what Burr meant - they both have those names because they share a design with those pets.
The lion is honestly a bit tricky because it's essentially the male version of the 2011 balloon lioness. But he doesn't have a balloon and the lioness has a littermate already called 'balloon lion', so there isn't really a way to just copy her name.
Personally I don't actually mind the sherbet name suggestion, though. ^^

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We'll be naming a few of the lions shortly, although we'd be interested in the ones I've left up. Additionally, we've been making a lot of progress with formatting guides! Although the names are far from complete, we're getting there!
I've added up some new nameless pets if anyone would like to discuss those. c:

These were the ideas I had while I was updating the guide, wanna know what everyone else thinks of them c:
Peeps & Chocolate Chicks
Blue Peep - Green Peep - Yellow Peep - Pink Peep - White Peep - Chocolate Chick - Wrapped Chocolate Chick
Ornate Egg Litter
Ornate Star (or Sun?) Egg - Ornate Flower Egg - Ornate Swirl (or Vine?) Egg - Ornate Heart Egg
Glowspot Litter
Green Glowspot - Blue Glowspot - Pink Glowspot - Purple Glowspot - Yellow Glowspot
The individual outcome names for these are gonna be a pain, but I think their defining feature are the swirls, so maybe something like "Fine Swirl" or "Swirl Art"?

If one were to name the swirl chickens after where the swirls were on the body I have a couple ideas to propose. In order they could be Wing Swirl (for the notable swirl under the wing), Eye Swirl (for how the swirls curl from the eye), Chest Swirl (for where the swirls are concentrated) and Neck Swirl (for where the swirls are concentrated.
In addition I propose naming the Dec 2013 chickens Tinged Chickens (or Tinged Wing Chickens) for the way the feathers on their wings are noticeably tinged. Then just name them after the dominant color (ie Blue Tinge).
